Foriegn words sound exotic, but not all catchphrases use them.

Henshin and henge mean 'change' and are used as catchphrases. Kikaida uses the English 'Change!' to sound different while having the same meaning.

Fun fact, almost every Japanese useage of the English word 'crash' is supposed to mean 'crush' but lol phonetics.

Some of it comes from how difficult it is to write the kanji versus the katakana. You can write クラッシュ or you can write 衝撃

Switch On - 点ける (they have a few verbs that mean "to turn something on" / "to activate" but afaik no word that just means "on" by itself, besides the English word)
