OGs was allergic to dynamic kills for some reason, and the OG team likes making every attack end in a huge explosion. OGG fixed that a bit by doing a fade to white if the enemy died on a lot of attacks but then 2ndOG went and undid that again. I think some of the new units in Dark Prison went back to doing it the same way as OGG.

KRO's missing Sonic Shout (and maybe Fang Missile, I can't recall if they brought that back or not). Variable Drill used to be its own thing, but now it's part of another weapon, I think.

Interestingly, you switch between pilots with this. Basically, one Kohbu equals the whole original team, just only being able to use one at a time. Upgrading it once gives you the Paris team. Still another upgrade to go, though.

A quick notice for anyone playing SRC, as you've probably seen the entire soundtrack isn't in the game itself, I've gotten a lot of tracks that are designed to work with the game from this site here:

http://robomidi.pa.land.to/

It's on a sort of revolving setup where new tracks open up each day, and as far as I know it only accepts midis. Some songs don't work at all with a "GM不可" next to them, so I can't really decipher why, copyright thing maybe? I dunno but those are just generic midi loops for some reason. The others that don't have that are pretty great though, if you wanted to customize the music a bit.

That's an odd way of doing it. While the witches do have powers on their own (being witches), the Striker unit is their primary mode of transportation in combat and both amplifies their innate abilities as well as better-allowing them to channel their powers into other objects. In fact, before the Strikers were invented, they used souped-up brooms with machine guns attached. Not to mention the witches can switch Strikers, like how Yoshika went from Zero to Shinden. I guess it makes sense from the perspective of which component actually has the attacks (as it's Yoshika holding the guns rather than them being attached to the Striker unit), but it still seems like an odd choice.

Usually it's very powerful, which makes up for the Aestivalis brigade being mid-tier trash only good for their cheap and spammable combo attacks. They'll almost always be shoved aside for better units, but the Nadesico itself is one of the few good battleships in SRW.

Fuck using it, though, because I can't stand Nadesico.

I might try to make a comparison shot of all the Getters if Paint can make it look decent, but that's for after I get back to the computer.

As it stands, Shin Dragon is indeed pretty much the beefiest, and has combos with Shin Getter (both Toei and Neo versions), but aside from that they at least try to make the various Getters unique.

Both Shin Getters have a different kind of Regen, Getter Rekka operates on a third mechanic dictating the proportional strength of it's moves, New Getter has a Getter Rays ability, Getter Go gets a super mode, Getter Arc has elemental properties in it's finisher...

Hey, so someone asked for some particular SRC Custom Units from VNs last time and one of them was Full Metal Daemon Muramasa.

Ok, so like I said, there was no sprites and no data done but I took a shot anyway - the thing is, I never actually read Muramasa being that it's the VN with an infamous reputation for being one of the hardest Japanese pieces of fiction to read, so everything I come up with here is from 2nd hand material sources and maybe someone who actually finished it can tell me if there's anything wrong (I'm definitely sure I missed out weapons or screwed up with the Kanji somewhere)

Also doing the research on this, apparently I had some really weird misconceptions about the units in the series - from all the PVs I saw I thought they were giant Super Robots but apparently in reality, they're more like Power Armor usually around 3m and the MC unit is only like 9m tall?

Akito is the unusual case of an MC being worse than almost every other unit from his show, because the Aestis are built around combo attacks and Akito's are usually with Gai, who you have to go through secret requirements to save, and comes back very late when you actually do get him back so that Akito suffers through most of the game without the one good thing about the Aestivalis. BX fixes this by pairing him with Akatsuki instead, but Akatsuki is a cunt and nobody wants to deploy him ever.

The one exception I've ever found is AP, where plugging Akito in the Lunar Frame and stuffing Range parts down his throat is encouraged by the game so he can solo a boss and net you an SP Regen skill part, one of only three in the game, and doing this happens to also make him a pretty great support attacker in a game where you have to rely extensively on support attacks. However, since this also means his Range will be a few hundred points higher than his Melee, it means his combo with Gai will actually be weaker than his Lunar Frame finisher, so there's no point in saving Gai. Which is great if you're like me and hate Gai, and good even if you don't because that means you can get Master Asia instead.

You might consider trying it, they hit harder. Only problem is that if you ever need to move somewhere in a stage they're shit at that due to lack of P options, but they have MAPs - which I never needed or used, but hey, they are there, and they're not shit like all the other early MAPs - and can use their combo on every one of your turns because they're not using that EN for anything else.

Anyway, the first list should be (kinda) like this:
- Enchant Plus 1-3+ Suck the enemy in + Katana Slash (kinda like Big O's M.B. Anchor)
- Enchant Minus 1-3+ Push the enemy away + 鋼糸連擲・貫
- 飛蝗 1-2 (Dagger throw attack)
- 鋼糸連擲・貫 1-4 (Some kind of electric handgun not from original material, I've taken this from Baldr Sky Dive X's data)
- Wakizashi 1 (Small sword slash
- 鋼糸散擲・壊 1-3 (Same from Dive X, looks like a electric shotgun))
- Katana 1 (Medium sword slash)
- 電磁抜刀・呪 1-3, (Ranged battou swordwave finisher)
- 電磁撃刀・威 1-2P (Overhead finisher)
- 電磁抜刀・禍 1 (Charged katana finisher)
One more thing, Yoshino Onryuu Gassen Reihou is not an attack, it's a swordskill discipline from the Minato family.

All custom units go into the data\ローカル folder - the bare minimum you need to do is entries in the robot.txt and pilot.txt file... of course, you might want to edit "Animation" and maybe "Pilot_Dialog" if you can actually write Japanese battle dialogue.

You can look in the SRC dungeon game files in the "data/味方" folder for examples as to how the files are supposed to be formatted. It looks really confusing at first until you eventually get used to it.

To add the units into the game, check out the CustomUnits.eve file I included - it's basically just 3 lines of scripting for each new unit - just change/replace the Unit/Pilot Name as appropriate.

If we're just going to be adding more into what was otherwise a great standalone, and have to cut details because we're trying to get out one a year or some shit like that, then I'll pass. I especially don't like how yet again, Late UC units are the first to get the boot in @3, while the entire gang from 0083, Zeta and ZZ Gundam get to hang around, and it's literally right after Crossbone's first and only time in a SRW.

The animations in BX are less bad (Note: less bad, not good) than in UX, but the sprites are generally prettier. Honestly, a lot of the AGE units is where you're going to find any semblance of good animation.

The sprites also generally have shit default poses making everything look like a socially awkward dwarf.

5000: Combiner Part Unit (probably the most useful one because it's cheap and intentionally only generates combiners parts that you already have)
