>>13733142 >He won, and would have made Kira and Lacus look like fools in comparison if he just left it at that. Not to mention, he could thrown some major mud their way and it would be legit. The Archangel did engage in terrorist acts during Destiny and Kira was using banned weapons tech. Using illegal weapons constitutes a war crime in real life.
Didn't soldiers under Cagalli rough up Yuuna to find Djibril? If so, that's also a war crime.

He couldn't really call him out on that after episode 37 because he himself started using nuclear mobile suits too.
>Didn't soldiers under Cagalli rough up Yuuna to find Djibril? If so, that's also a war crime.
How would he even know about this? Also she had him arrested and stripped of his rank and title and told them to take him into custody. Soldiers and police are allowed to get physical when arresting people.
His entry in the Japanese Wikipedia have some interesting bits
- His family runs a tofu store and he is apparently quite proud of that when asked about it - He was married with Koyama Mami (VA for Kycillia/Talia) after he graduated from university (so basically early 70s), but they divorced in 1983. However he remained friends with her after - He used to not drink alcohol often
>>13738748 The Junius Treaty, signed at the end of the Bloody Valentine War, put a ban on the military usage of nuclear tehcnologies like the Freedom's N-Jammer Canceller. Using the Freedom could be classified as a war crime if Kira were ever to go to trial.
Additionally, Lacus's Terminal organization stole the Strike Freedom and Infinite Justice. These units and their data were sealed by ZAFT in the spirit of the Junius Treaty, but when the second war broke out Terminal stole them for their own armament.
>>13738804 >That doesn't make any fucking sense though. If N-Jammers are banned, why ban the method of getting around them? Why then use that method of getting around them all over the Earth?
It's military use of those technologies that's banned. N-Jammer Cancellers were installed into the EA's powerplants in order to get them working again following the war. Granted, this means N-Jammers are pretty much worthless now since the EA is vaccinated against future usage.
As for the cancellers, that's to stop people from using nuclear warheads and nuclear-powered mobile suits/armors.
I get the feeling that these worldbuilding details were written without Fukuda's input and he never bothered to glance over them.
>>13738888 > It'd be like if poison gas was banned in warfare, but gas masks were banned too.
Yeah, but would using the N-Jammer Canceller to fix the damage done by N-Jammers count as military use? It would be more like economic recovery which would be fine under the treaty. After all, they've already installed them in powerplants despite the Junius Treaty as part of the post-war recovery.
>>13738863 >I get the feeling that these worldbuilding details were written without Fukuda's input and he never bothered to glance over them.
They were mentioned once to say how evil the EA is.
And that was it. Kira uses Freedom and nobody cares. In fact it's nuclear reactor is never even mentioned, and the only way you'd know it has one if you didn't watch Seed was because of the readout on the cut off button which most Japanese people probably can't read anyway.
And Durandal rolls out two nuclear Gundam's of his own and nobody cares, and then Lacus pulls out two more. And they never even try to explain what the Destroy runs off of.
