Discuss the plot for the upcoming 2016 Godzilla film, I want a
I'm not sure if continuity wise it should be yet another sequel to the 1954 original, but it would be nice if it's today's equivalent to the 1954 one and the 1984 one making togueter a trilogy of sorts.
Wathever the plot is, I imagine the movie being self contained and stand alone, I can't imagine a Godzilla so unique looking getting the Heisei treatement.
Then again Neon Genesis Evangelion was supposed to be unmarketable and we all know how it ended up.
with the Raids Again overtones I'm expecting a direct sequel to 54 where he awakens and is in endless pain and smashes everything
with Anno I'm expecting a twist that it's actually Jirass or something
I'm sure there's something beyond "humanity accidentally wakes up godzilla and seriously pisses him off with full-body sores".
Incredibly amateur fellation of giant robot movies and SFX. Hopefully Anno's dreams of being a proper tokusatsu creator are crushed and the movie is panned so that he can then give back to animation by passing on his skills to the next generation so that there will be something to remember him by after his butchering of a classic franchise
Godzilla must die so that anime may live. A fair trade. Goodnight sweet angel
It'll just be another poorly received movie for Godzilla, nothing new. Godzilla will die but he'll come back, it'll just be another lull
Anno's spirit must be crushed so he can stop believing in this tokusatsu expert museum curator nonsense and just start teaching kids how to draw explosions and smoke effects
I'm just glad it's happening. Since it's somewhat of a horror from the looks of it, I wonder whether or not there will be another monster.
What are you even saying
no seriously I don't get it
Why can't we have a Godzilla where Godzilla travels to space and kills Earth? He could travel to space in a flying Godzilla mecha that's roughly the same size as the Earth and fight it with that.
>Godzilla vs The Wall Monster
maybe. if ive heard correctly some psychedelics used to be completely legal there until the olympics. it could be set in the past so he could still be an upstanding citizen enjoying recreational drugs responsibly
what if Godzilla is... inside all of us!
this is a horrible joke.
I knew that flesh looked familiar. Took me a while to pinpoint it.
jet jaguar waited. The lights above him blinked and sparked out of the air. There were godzillas in the base. He didn't see them, but had expected them now for years. His warnings to mecha king ghidora were not listenend to and now it was too late. Far too late for now, anyway.
jet was a space robot for fourteen years. When he was young he eat sushi from a pail and he said to dad "I want to be a friend to children."
Dad said "No! You will BE KILL BY GODZILLA"
There was a time when he believed him. Then as he got oldered he stopped. But now in the sea of japan he knew there were godzillas.
"This is Ghidorah" the radio crackered. "You must fight the godzillas!"
So Jet gotted his oxygen destroyer and blew up the water.
"HE GOING TO KILL US" said the godzillas "I will shoot at him" said the godzuki and he fired the heat breaths. Jet oxygen destroyered at him and tried to blew him up. But then the ceiling fell and they were trapped and not able to kill.
"No! I must kill the godzillas" he shouted The radio said "No, Jet. You are the godzillas"
And then Jet was a biollante.
i like the design from what we've see in other shots
but here he looks like a burnt burger
I wonder if it will even be released outside of Japan. Seeing how the movie is also being called "Japan vs. Godzilla", wanting to pay tribute to the character's significance, and Legendary probably not wanting audiences to feel confused, I wouldn't be surprised if they are happy with leaving the movie in Japan.
I would be sad, but it would mean the movie has less chances of failing, and maybe more movies could be done like this, and one way or another fans will eventually watch them.
Remember reading reports that they want to distribute it elsewhere, but that was a while ago. I'm not counting on it getting a global release even on home video. As usual with these films, I'm thinking it's only gonna get any meaningful theatrical presence in its home nation, and maybe pop up here and there in a handful of other countries for limited screenings or possibly a DVD/Blu-ray release.
Not much of a market for films like this, sadly, so it'd be pointless and harmful to try to push for a genuine international release.
I kinda hope this movie isn't just a "'54 only" reboot; it'd be nice to have this godzilla exist in a universe where events similar to the past films of all eras took place.I never like when Godzilla's 54 attack is treated as the only instance of a kaiju for decades, then inevitably you get a stream of them after. I'd like this Godzilla to be worn from decades of battle, struggling through attacks from both monsters and humans. He's fought King Ghidorah in the 60's, Hedorah in the 70's, Biollante in the 80's, etc. Maybe he's one of the last surviving kaiju left at this point. It'd also be interesting to see how the world has been affected by all these monster attacks over the decades.
That's Trypticon, ningen.
They killed off Godzilla Jr man.
>GvD sequel never
>The big bad will never be Bagan or Barubaroi
>It won't have a darker more violent tone than Heisei films
>It won't have gore
>It won't have a scene at the start with junior molting to the sound of the classic resurrection music of KKvG
>Yoganzee can summon lava versions of monsters like Hedorah and Anguirus. It lives on Monster Island.
>SHE TOLD ME SHE WAS 18 I SWEAR!
Look, I like Evangelion too, but 3.0's was really kind of a mess. There's a difference between "ambiguous and open-ended" and "shit just happening with no sense of stakes", and 3.0 was the latter. Anno pretty clearly needs to step away from Eva, and I can totally see him coming up with an at-least-enjoyable Godzilla movie.
>Godzilla vs. Patlabor
>Godzilla and Captain Goto in a battle of wits
>Goto stands on top of a skyscraper chain smoking while staring down Godzilla with the rising sun behind him
This Goji is the biggest ever (even bigger than Fatzilla), so on a physical level, it's fairly probable. We don't really know about his breath or any other abilities he may have picked up, so that's still up in the air, but I suspect we won't get Vs. Hedorah levels of breath shenanigans.
Christ, why did the R1 transfer look so bad? Say what you want about the stereotypical J-horror blue filter, but the R1 transfer is just bland to the point of looking like a sitcom. Just drains all the atmosphere out of it.
