Where to watch dino charge:
Previous Thread >>13682996
tommy let jason borrow it for a while in one episode so maybe the same happens in the comic
>RR wearing the Dragon Shield
>Dragonzord reflected in the visor
What does mean???
It means that's actually a picture of Geki.
Huh. That doesn't sound bad at all. Except for:
>Rangers overall are not that much of perfect paragons of goodness. They are pretty much escaping from school to battle Bullzer
Doesn't sound THAT different. I mean, the class was boring and they had shit to take care of. What's the deal?
Tokunation review has a recap.
There's a big panic because of the monster's attack. So, they just go fight him. However, Tommy freezes for a moment during the battle (because of his visions of Rita) and Jason gets really angry at him, to the point that Zordon actually steps in and says that they should calm the fuck down.
Also, Scorpina finds some crystal for Rita's plan.
Its an alternate cover for number 0.
>It means that's actually a picture of Geki.
Sure, there was not such thing as a DragonZord in MMPR.
Eh, sounds like it will be about the team dynamics but ultimately inconsequential. Could be worse I guess, but it could also be better if they did fully original stories not tied between the set continuity.
Is Chase that popular? They keep painting toys black.
Also, none of these zords are Chase's or Riley's. WTF, Bandai?
>how do you guys feel about linkara's review of megaforce/super megaforce?
Probably his most accurate one since everything on the show sucked so much, him whining about everything made sense here.
Although that part where he films himself mad about Robo Knight's suddenly being alive was embarrassing to watch.
>it reminds me I should really get around to watching gokaiger.
Keep in mind is way overhyped.
Black is a common cool looking colour, there has been some black repaints for other megazords too.
>that part where he films himself mad about Robo Knight's suddenly being alive was embarrassing to watch.
guess there's a reason he always wears a hat and bulky clothes in his AT4W videos...good lord that was bad.
I haven't been into PR since I watched RPM. Saw a few episodes of Samurai but wasn't digging it and just stayed exclusively Sentai for a while. I heard Dino Charge's theme song and it rocked my fucking socks off in a way I haven't felt since SPD. I also hear the reception to this is way better compared to the last two series. So is it really worth it?
At the least is it better than the last two?
I loved how he was constantly complaining about how they were being given powerups every week like it was no one's business because that was pretty much the exact problem with Goseiger
The Robo Knight being alive reaction was very overdone but I couldn't help laughing at the way he slowly turned to the camera
>At the least is it better than the last two?
>So is it really worth it?
Check out the first episode. It's a great set up for the next 20. And it's pretty much makes you decide wabout how you feel about them.
I personally think that, while not the 'greatest season ever', DC is a good season. Rangers are all likeable, villains have a great dynamic and action is great (thanks to Sakamoto's work on Kyoryuger).
>I loved how he was constantly complaining about how they were being given powerups every week like it was no one's business because that was pretty much the exact problem with Goseiger
He wasnt reviewing Goseiger and just because Goseiger did it doesnt mean its ok.
How does this make you feel?
I genuinely like the Zordon idea, but nothing else.
Huh. That sounds a little better than I thought it would. I'm still a bit miffed they're using Tommy as an entry character, but this could really go somewhere.
I would assume so, but who knows where this could go.
The keyword is rejected.
I cannot state how much I dispise that Megazord idea thou regardless if its on the refuse pile or not. It's not even novel but cool like the Bay Optimus Prime. It's just regurgitating Massive Black ideas but doing it poorly and pairing it with that creepy translucent face.
Yeah, the Zordon is cool. I know that the effect used in the show was to mimic the Wizard Of Ozz (simce the villains are Oz themed and all). But I really don't have much love for melty bubbleface as some sort of mythical galactic being of justice.
That would only make him more "legendary".
Odd it says "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" on a Zyuranger comic, dont you think?
This, there's also a variant with the White Ranger.
>Skipping Train Sentai
>Captcha is trains
Never liked "Ninja Strike", too easy of a name. Plus it'd be weird if they used that given that it's one of the many fan names that have been floating around.
"Ninja Steel" fits with "Ninja Storm" at least. Reminds me of "Dino Steel, Armor On!"
I loved ToQGer, but I did not want to see it as a two year PR season. It'd be harder to take those costumes seriously in PR, plus train culture doesn't really exist in America. If they made it really badass a la RPM, I'd be interested in seeing that, but they're really focusing on the younger kid demographic, so that would be a pipe dream.
Happy to see them move onto Ninninger. They can breathe some life into it. Maybe we'll see them cast an Asian Red for this one, or maybe we'll get another Jayden Shiba.
>plus train culture doesn't really exist in America
an anon had the idea of the villains also using trains being because some trains felt like they were being abandoned by humanity, so they joined up with the villains for revenge
I keep wanting to continue Ninninger, but I think it's gonna be the first Over-Time subbed show that I'm not gonna finish in time for the finale. Got put off at around the Three Western Youkai arc, where nothing had really grabbed me at that point, and Takaharu was just annoying.
Keep hearing that that aspect gets better, and I want to see the Jiraiya/MagiYellow/Shurikenger episode. Though it sounds like neither Shiro nor Momo get to power up to Transcendant Mode? That's lame.
I was working on a video project with another anon (I write, he reads, I edit) and wanted to keep my name consistent, so when it's eventually finished I could get feedback from people here. But I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes here, so sorry.
The only non-heinous reason to name/trip is when your posters being yours matters to the thread
>a quest thread on /tg/ where everyone needs to know who the QM is
>a Q&A thread where everyone needs to know the person answering questions is who they say they are AND the person making all those posts
>a storytime on /co/ where the person dumping a comic has a lot of different things to dump and everyone needs to be able to ask if he has a specific comic
>a prolonged storytime anywhere else where everyone needs to know the same person is making all the posts (i.e. Storybro's Magically Lewd threads)
Aaaaaand that's it.
So...I guess we can get a crossover with Dino Charge? We already have first ten seconds for it.
Anon, if you really wanted to go down that dark path you should have said
Realistically, using "Shuriken" instead of "Ninja" would make the series much less marketable/much less apparent what the show is to Western audiences.
Yeah, the helmets did manage to give off a strong "safety and rescue" while also remaining quite simple, so I give them props for that. It also helps that everything else in that show was fantastic, so I easily forgave the subpar suits.
If Saban's skipping Sentai left and right now because of Nick's schedule, why not mine what you can out of what's not being used? Why release a dozen recolors as opposed to, say, throwing a ridiculous name onto Go-Buster Oh and releasing that stateside?
American kids certainly don't. The only kids' media prominently featuring trains seen in the US is Thomas the Tank Engine, and that demographic isn't even old enough to read Naruto.
Once they hit the bottom end of the shonen set, they switch to cars, trucks and planes.
>and that demographic isn't even old enough to read Naruto.
Because Power Rangers is clearly more mature than Naruto.
Well, there's our confirmation.
So I guess the Ninja Stars -> Ninja Superstars direction was too obvious, huh? Well, that's what I get for wanting it so much.
I thought that was his point. They wouldn't be old enough to watch Naruto, let alone Power Rangers. Still kind of a stupid argument, though.
>Ninja Steel will be worse than Ninninger.
I like Ninninger but that would be hard to do unless they bring Tzachor back or something.
>But /prg/ will love it anyways.
>/prg/ (or the PR fanbase in general)
>not having stupidly "high" standards for anything after Time Force
Nigga, unless its another RPM people will at most say its decent, just like Dino Charge.
>e'll get another Jayden Shiba
we are so getting another Jayden Shiba.
Then again, I didnt hate samurai for not casting full asians on an US show, the same way I dont hate sentai for not making Battle Cossack a commie or Kenya an actual nigger.
Prepare for the wave of Toqger adaptation fanfics.
>Takaharu is a shit
At least Takaharu improved
Also, a long running project.
If they adapt her 1:1 we may be getting one of the best pinks in years. Not that's hard to do given the last few were Rose, Mia,Emma and Shelby, and the only competition out of those are Shelby and maybe Rose.
My point was that Naruto, as a series originally published in a shonen magazine (which is literally the only way to determine whether something is shonen or not), is aimed at boys 8 to 18.
The demographic for Thomas the Tank Engine is around 4 to 7.
The demographic for automobiles and aircraft is basically 4 to 100.
>Also, a long running project.
Only if people are asking for updates and, more importantly, you ahve more than 2 people involved.
Examples: /co/'s The Legend of Shen, an Avatar fanfic set post-LoK, taking up consecutive threads with regulars; /tg/'s fan-made JoJo Parts, created and explored in the sort-of-weekly SUPER STAND SUNDAY threads
does this cover mean that at the end of the six books tommy becomes the white ranger?
i'm guessing yes
>Hey Saban, don't skip this bland as shit angel Sentai team.
>Hey Saban, DO skip the Power Rangers influenced Sentai team and this boring train-themed Sentai team.
What caused Toei to change their minds?
It became ovbious that PR will lose the right moment for some potentially cool Sentais? Also, though did start taking care of their monster costumes, but they are still can't really be in good condition for more than five years. Generals' costumes are a little better, but still will fall apart later.
>mfw I just watched episode 1 of Dino Charge
I'm late to the party but holy shit, holy fucking shit I am floored. I did not think this was possible from a Neo-Saban show. I think I liked it better than Kyoryuger's first episode.
Now I'm wondering what the hell Linkara meant when he thought Saban couldn't skip seasons
Goseiger IS bland. ToQ is boring for like the first third of it and gets progressively more interesting
>another dino themed
Speaking of which, I'm surprised we never got any repainted MMPR stuff for Dino Thunder or Dino Charge. Though I suppose we might get something for Supercharge
But Power/Rangers was supposed to be shit. The director did it as a joke after someone bet he could take a goofy kid's show and make an edgy grimdark nonsense that people would somehow think was good.
Of fucking course they would do Ninninger over ToQger. ToQger didn't have a golden ninja cowboy with a burger phone. That shit's so American there's no way Saban WOULDN'T bring it here.
Jiraiya episode's not really worth it, MagiYellow only shows up for the last few minutes of the episode he's in, doesn't even fight, and only transforms once to show the younger kids who didn't see Magiranger who he is and then leaves.
Didn't see the Shurikenger one but I assume it's the same way.
What he meant is that back when Saban first got the contract there was a cause in it that said they had to use the footage for each Sentai season and weren't allowed to skip using footage for them.
The only reason they're skipping now is because of both Toei telling them to (because despite Go-Busters being awesome, it had mediocre ratings and bad toy sales, although that doesn't work with ToQger because Ninninger has had abysmal ratings and sales, far worse than Go-Busters) and that because of Nick's retarded scheduling they're forced to stretch one show out over two years, so the longer they go the more out of date the footage becomes.
Also I can't believe you fucking losers actually watch Linkara's stuff, no wonder /prg/ is the worst toku general.
Cars also wasn't the point of RPM, it was "bad future from Terminator".
Post-Turbo, none of the seasons with vehicle zords have vehicle-centric plots, not even the one with vehicle-themed suits (RPM).
There's basically no way to separate trains from Toqger because it's fucking all about trains. Everything is train-themed with them.
And trains just aren't that cool.
I kinda dig that T-Rex redeco, honestly. Not a fan of bundling the black and gold limbs with it, though. Really should've just sold all the black and gold zords as a single set.
I've been digging the Dino Charge line since I'm a poorfag and missed out on Kyoryu's, but man are the Megazord toys fun. Might have to pick up some gundam markers or something to replace the missing paint apps, though. Are the 5in figures any good?
One more Dino Charger and my collection is complete. Juuuust need number 10. Man I wish I knew that set was coming out before I basically had 75% of them.
I swear I'm never getting caught up in a toy gimmick again after this! Luckily I don't care for Shurikens.
Power/Rangers had some interesting ideas, one or two really.
-Rocky becoming so disillusioned he joins the bad guys
-Billy becomes an openly gay weapons seller just trying to get on with his happy gay life by shilling for the Machine Empire.
The really silly ones were Bulk/Skull becoming Drug-addicted Ranger Hunters and Zack becoming a drug-shooting enforcer.
>Thing is literally and intentionally supposed to be shit and terrible and not what people want in PR
>"It had some good ideas"
It didn't have to stick that closely to TQGer's plot. It could have had a really nice message of maturing without losing youthful ambition. Now we'll never know.
>Are the 5in figures any good?
If you've seen the Legacy figures from Super Megaforce, they're basically the same. Pretty cool for the basic 5-points of articulation, with decent (if exaggerated) sculpts.
On the one hand, they didn't do it with Dino Charge, Dino Thunder and MPR (so far).
On the other hand, at the end of Ninja Storm they reopen the Wind Academy. They are also apparently multiple academies, the Thunder Academy being one of them.
IIRC Chip said he wasnt coming back, but Tzachor sure wont either.
>having this shit taste
>not full of hipsters like Ultraman threads
>not full of delusional neckbeards like /ssg/
>people do not have serious cognitive problems like in /krg/
>no annoying namefags like in /krg/
Its by far the best toku general on /m/ short of Garo general which I dont go to.
I dunno, I felt Power/Rangers' version of Zack was the closest to his actual personality - he's always been a thrillseeker. I never bought into the idea that he became a Young Peace ambassador or whatever, but I could totally see him doing wetworks with his Ranger powers if he could get away with it.
We still don't know the reason why she was let go from Disney. Would be cool if she came back.
Anyone who has experience working on PR prior is surely seen as an asset for showrunning PR, since it's such a unique style of show. That's sorta why they even brought Lynn back for 2nd half of RPM, since they kinda just needed someone to do it.
>Chip said he wasnt coming back
Source? Never heard that, though we still don't have confirmation he's coming back.
I would be down for this, though his Gokaiger written episodes seemed non-spectacular. Hard to say though with Tzachor dragging the writing staff down and making the cheapest show possible.
Hey, you don't know. Maybe he was just taking a hike when Tommy buzzed him about the Gold powers. Maybe he just happened to be in the area, with a cloak, and took the long way to the Power Chamber. Stranger things have happened.
>yfw Star Ninger is a Japanese guy who made his suit cowboy themed to fit in with the Americans in the adaptation
Dumb first Ninja Steel plot rumor!
>Saban's Power Rangers Ninja Steel starts deep in space, where Zircon is the reigning champion of the most popular intergalactic game show in the universe, and monsters battle to prove who is the mightiest warrior. Zircon is determined to become invincible by controlling the mythical Spirit Crystal, which contains six supernatural Ninja Power Throwing Stars. The only thing standing in his way is a new team of heroic teenage Power Rangers who possess the Spirit Crystal. The evil Zircon sends his warrior contestants down to Earth to steal the Crystal, where each epic battle against the Rangers is broadcast throughout the universe. Together, the Rangers must master their arsenal of Throwing Stars, Zords and Megazords, each made of legendary ninja steel, in order to stop this evil threat and save our planet from destruction.
>Nickelodeon has provided us with an official synopsis of Power Rangers' next iteration
Not a rumor, but legit.
Anyway. It...sounds...spectacular. It sounds so batshit crazy and whack that I can't not watch that, good or bad.
This level of creativity tells me it's Chip Lynn again. I guess we'll find out.
What better way to make otherwise lackluster villains by turning them into a game show? Kinda reminds me of Ratchet: Deadlocked.
I mean it's essentially the same thing as making Sledge harboring imprisoned monsters to fight for their freedom.
>Kyuuemon as a dick-ass host/Vanna White type
Chip Lynn returns.
>Power Rangers Ninja Steel will premiere on Nickelodeon in 2017 and Chip Lynn will return as executive producer.
And now we can continue laughing at this
>April: voiced by Alyssa Milano
I know there was a reason I wanted to fuck her besides her being a greenskin
dammit Warcraft movie why'd you have to cast Paula Patton as the half-orc
>villain makes a monster grow
>"So I made the monster giant-size, so what? Just playing the game. I'm not here to make friends."
>yfw we get alien Johnny Fairplay, who indeed does not play fair
>We're already having enough trouble taking care of these guys when I find out there's ANOTHER Ranger. Oh boy, here we go. Got no idea what to expect and no lie, a cowboy ninja in gold spandex speaking broken English comes running into the shot. Is...is this real? Is the network playing a cruel joke or something?
Welcome to the pain of your average Go-Busfag.
>Saban's Power Rangers Ninja Steel starts deep in space, where Zircon is the reigning champion of the most popular intergalactic game show in the universe
We 80s Who now.
>Its about Aliens and ninjas
I just noticed the poetry.
For the people who were worried about Aurico coming back making no sense, there you go.
I wonder if they'll adapt Jiraiya in Ninja Steel. I guess it's possible, Janperson made a guest appearance in Beetleborgs after all.
You know if this was two years ago, I'd be saying no, but after Super Megaforce was so lazy, they put in the effort to make new footage of Sentai only suits, just so they could use that stock footage, all bets are off.
For what it's worth, they didn't use Kamen Rider Decade in Samurai, and Jiraiya isn't Super Sentai either so they might actually not be able to use it, but honestly who knows.
I'd be more interested if they brought back Pua Magasiva, an actor who is in New Zealand, for the Kakuranger/Hurricanger episodes.
For anyone who has watched more Ninninger, how often do they use those two Shuriken anyhow? From what I saw, if need be, they could just edit out every occurrence of the Kakuranger/Hurricanger Shuriken, since they didn't seem that vital to the story, and weren't that prolific in the footage.
it sounds really good but I want my train rangers.
perhaps they'll adapt it later.
they could always adapt it later!
Sentai footage isn't going anywhere!
Anyone kinda miffed at the gewun focus of Saban with the film and comic. I get why they are doing it, but choosing nostalgiabux over doing something actually creative seems cheap.
An original team, an epic space opera using Zordo era lore, Hexagon, a big epic crossover, adapting new sentai teams, or a TF vs Gi Joe style artpop remix.
Instead we get what, half a year of a Green Ranger arc and then more retelling of Mmpr? How cynical.
I hope its good and it stitches together the Zordon era stuff into a new whole in a way the shows didn't but still wish this wasn't so shameless.
We... we don't speak of that episode.
Are they going to use the same villain suits/scenes as Nininger then? Kyuuemon and the others hanging out in their darkly lit Japanese room doesn't exactly scream "reality tv". Sounds like we'll get another custom bad guy suit like Sledge.
It's funny, Tommy actually turned out to be one of the worst things about Dino Thunder. While JDF was never a great actor, he at least was charismatic in the early days. In DT, he completely phones it in with a boring, flat performance.
In fact, acting is a pretty big problem with that season overall. Trent and Hayley are among the worst main cast actors we've had in PR (Pre-Samurai, of course).
Sure it's not perfect, but mediocre seems a bit harsh. Care to elaborate?
Yeah I didn't mind Hayley's character but her acting got really bad at times, especially in the final couple of episodes.
> how often do they use those two Shuriken anyhow?
The Kakuranger shuriken is used a fucking lot, its particularly useful.
The Hurricaneger one not so much but is still used. The Jiraya only on its episode an in a boss fight I think.
That said, Lynn is not that much of a continuityfag, so I dont think it's sure they will use them. Maybe they will change the Kakuranger Shuriken to a generic clone Shuriken (after all the only footage to make would be just the ranger putting it in the ichibanto) and edit the Mangetsu fight. It can be done and I wouldnt put it past them.
I doubt it, if they skipped Toqger in the first place, they really dont want to do it.
I totally agree. The worst part is that Super Megaforce, which was literally THE moment to cash in with nostalgia ended up not only as an insult to the franchise but also to MMPR, whose suits dont get to do shit. I mean at least be consistent in all fronts, not make everything nostalgiafaggy and leaving the actual show out of that.
Most of the positive things I've read about Dino Thunder either dont mention JDF or put it in the negatives part given he didnt appear that much.
That said, come on, you cant hate Dino Thunder
That sounds fucking amazing./
Updated the pastebin
No it's Ranger Yellow, part 1 probably. It's when they're talking about who Summer's marrying and his name being "Chad"
I thought ya'll were the real Ranger fans.
>being this late to the party
>being a fun-hating and purist fag
> intergalactic gameshows
>Implying that's not fucking awesome and not the only good thing about the sinopsis
You mean like NinjaBlack or StarNinger? yeah, fuck them right?
which one sounds better?
>Power Rangers Ninja Supersteel
>Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel
if they do the season 2 shit again hopefully not they probably will
It's made by God-King Emporer Lynn so we gud
I'm hoping that they adapt ToQgers after ninnin is complete.
it's not like it's impossible for it to happen
please, let me cling to this stand of hope
never gonna happen.
My little cousin love power rangers but I doubt he would like trains.
I showed him the Toqgers toys a while back and it was all a pretty meh reaction compared to when I showed him kyoryuger toys.
Ninjas would sell way better.
Besides that footage is gonna age.
Just let it go.
I know everyone is talking about Ninja steel right now, but after seeing this I have to ask. Did they do the Dairanger pose in this episode?
I've heard there were a few other instances of the rangers doing poses of other sentai teams that weren't adapted, would love to see those. Would be fun if they did little referances like this in the new comic book as well. Or give us stories about those teams down the road.
