At least the VF-31 looks nicer than the YF-31 from behind. The rear of the cockpit isn't just sitting there completely exposed.

I really don't like the transformation mechanism on the YF-30 and VF-31. The weapon pod is nice and all, but it's not worth that awful lower body design. The VF-31 doesn't even have the benefit of a 360 degree waist joint like the YF-30 did.
