I always considered 'politics' in gundam to be quite weak and just barely enough information to know the factions and each of their agendas.

I just handpicked some of the gundam anime's that i thought were more character driven than world/politics driven. You're free to disagree but at least elaborate why instead of "nigger are you high XD"

My point is that someone can watch 0083 or 8th MS Team as stand alone ovas without knowing or caring much about the events that precede them. Just the characters can carry these stories. Same applies to war in the pocket and others like stargazer and the seed side-stories.

Being post-apocalyptic does that to you, and yet there was still a whole subplot about the new Federation or whatever being set up. There were politics in that show, not to mention the other issues with that one island nation or something. I don't remember the specifics, though.

The least politic-y Gundams, aside from BF, is probably G Gundam, which is just one giant tournament arc, and SD Gundam.
