>DO NOT MAKE NEW GENERALS WHEN IT IMMEDIATELY REACHES BUMP LIMIT. WAIT TILL IT GETS TO PAGE 6 TO MAKE A NEW GENERAL!!!! MOD RULES!
Has there ever been a season with homosexual undertones? If not, do you think there could be in the future?
The movie Blu-ray box from a few years ago (with all the theatrical movies from Goranger through Ohranger) is getting single volume re-releases.
I believe Super Sentai World was on the bonus disc, so it probably won't be on any of the new volumes.
>Has there ever been a season with homosexual undertones?
Gokaiger. Pretty much everyone on that ship was either gay and/or bisexual for one another. Joe and Marvelous was the worst offenders and Joe in Super Hero Taisen was a emotional crybaby when his man was evil and Marvelous didn't want to associate with him.
Everyone was gay for each other in Gokaiger, it's unfair to pit any other show against that. There are questionable moments in most shows though, even Carranger had gay moments (hi Minoru) and it's harder to find moments when two girls on a team /don't/ have gay undertones imo.
I'm a big homo myself though so granted I'm looking for it
It's a shame we didn't got a rear shot from this episode, now we'll never see Kasumi's ass in a pencil skirt.
Found a bunch of pics of JuOhTiger in her early days as a garment model. She's the one wearing the white spotted apparel or whatever you call it.
Gonna search for more especially that sexy bikini one.
I wonder if its more of a thing in KR. Saw this scene last week and it just screamed "gay" to me.
There is the big ol' MEGA in the OP that has many, many things from O-T and such, but whoever has reign over it hasn't seemed to have touched for for like a year or so. It has MFC's Megaranger and Goseiger at least.
So only sentai I've watched are Go-bus and Gokaiger. I thought they were both great.
what should I watch next?
Did any series catch your eye in Gokaiger? I watched Megaranger, Go-Onger, Gekiranger and Carranger and am going to watch Hurricanger all because I liked their episodes in Gokaiger, that's the main thing the series is good for when it's (one of) your first.
I can't say which sentai I liked the less, but I can say that Liveman is easily one of my favourite, if not my first
I'm all caught up with IS subs and I really like it. At first I couldn't tell the difference between green and yellow but after a while they came into their own. I like the whole family aspect because I have a big family as well and you can feel the togetherness they have and understand the hierarchy they have going on. The rescue aspect is what really does it for me adding a very strong sense of urgency to what's going on. Also I love Victory Robo's combination.
>Couldn't tell the difference between Green and Yellow
God damn, me too. They felt so similar at the start and even looked the same at some points. Both basically being the bratty kids, Yellow more so.
>At first I couldn't tell the difference between green and yellow
If you've watch Kamen Rider 555, GoGreen is Kamen Rider Delta
Akibaranger nearly gave us what we all wanted.
>that Grey and Gai in the rose
Top 3 sentais from 90's. Good plot (rescue), badass enemies (demons) and pretty neat mechs (4!). Matsuri's a QT. I recommend.
I just found this cool compilation for the henshin device toy commercials for sentai series. Anyone maybe have others like this for the other toys? Like special weapons or mechas?
Oho, those two. Sounds good. But another dance? Where the old ending montage where the cast is doing random things or the villains having tea party. Well, just gotta churn that up.
Kyuemon has to be most conniving villain in years. He's been one step ahead the whole time and it'll be interesting to see what his true intentions will be since Gengetsu is revived.
I'll bet that Kyuemon is the bastard child of Gengetsu and Grandad's wife.
Not furry like the sex thing. Furry like Kyoryu Cyan.
>most conniving villain
Sexy bee ladies have always been a thing in toku
I'm really happy that Hideaki Takatori is singing the OP. I'll always be a little disappointed that it wasn't Kushida, but who knows?
Taiyou Sentai Sun Vulcan: 25 YEARS AFTER, maybe?
Just need a little help with when to watch some movies during the Gokaiger/Go-Busters seasons:
Space Gavan vs. Gokaiger
Gokaiger vs. Go-Busters
Super Hero Taisen
Super Hero Taisen Z
Thanks a bunch.
Pretty much any time after Gai/Gokai Silver is introduced, you can watch Gokai VS Gavan. It's pretty spoiler free as far as Gokaiger's story is concerned and is almost completely standalone.
The Taisen movies are nonsense and largely forgettable, but also largely inoffensive. I would say Gokaiger spoilers, but everyone acts so hilariously out of character it's not even that.
Well, fuck. I watched the 1st 5 minutes of Taisen and it looked dope as fuck (except you could see that Marvelous just shaved).
Yeah, I forgot about that. Gokai's final mech appears in the movie, but then again entire toylines get revealed weeks or even months before they hit the screen these days. I guess I don't think of "team gets bigger robot" as a huge spoiler anymore.
The premise is definitely rad, and some of the fights are great, but the execution is a bit of a mess at times, that's all. If you can turn your brain off and ignore some plot and character missteps, it's a fine way to kill an afternoon.
>Not liking all riders time shenanigans starring Owner
Since your opinions appear to be backwards, I'm sure you'll enjoy the Taisen movies just fine.
Holy shit, it's like I'm watching a live action SMT. Why is GoGo V so good?
So is the next episode the last? Why do they have to take such a long break beforethe finale?
Just check the dates they aired and see what episode aired before that and then watch according to that. Somethimes the wiki has a chronological placement on it in which case you could follow that.
If you think Wizard is the kind of show that's better marathoned then ou'll definitely enjoy Ninninger more than others. It's not bad just okay. ANd it has some great moments and episodes.
I have to agree with the marathon factor. I watched yesterday ep 33-38 in a go and I had some entertainment. That YakumoxBeetits episode was too good for Sentai. TOO GOOD.
Kinji and his "traitor/not traitor" deal lost its charm and is pretty annoying, though.
I want yellow to be last ninja
It was hinted really early. But of course, you had no way to guess precisely what the monster meant at this time.
SHIEET. Wow, just wow. A monster's dialogue being relevant to a plot and he's just going to die at the end of the episode. It's amazing how they drop hints like this, in any show, just love it.
Really? Back then IIRC people hated Tanba (especially). But in the end, he did good.
I still feel like the character still has so much to offer to the franchise (evidenced by her appearance in Gokaiger). I'm hoping she gets an extended arc or big role in a movie one day.
>WTF is a Tanba?
Kaoru retainer and the person that finally told Genta annoying ass about himself.
>We finally get an upskirt
>She's not wearing tiny black panties
But we had superior underwear shot later in the show though.
Kakuranger was mostly just trying to convince Ninjaman to hand over the Kakuranger hidden power.
hurricanger had the Gokaiger fighting the descendants of the Jakanja in a quiz show.
>tfw movie and third season confirmed
Nice! Not only did O-T pull it off, but Champstice can now go back to working on Megabeast projects at his own pace.
I wish the subbers would sub the side projects that Toei has some of the actors do during the shows run.
perfect blend of lewd and funny
What? That's pretty much what's happening, isn't it? Fine, I'll just piss off. Can't ever hope for anyone to do anything, I guess.
I've been thinking about that too. I was kind of hoping for Master Shafu 2.0, but honestly they wouldn't hire a whole team of handsome faced talent agency darlings and not give them face time. The animal forms will probably be sporadic at best, and will probably be used for sight gags whenever they can.
I'm expecting the explanation will be "You can be animal people in the human world people will freak out etc etc" thus their human forms, and then "oh we can be furries now because we're visiting our home etc etc" thus animal forms.
>They eat at Amy's restaurant.
That's clearly the same locale they used for Restaurant Tiger Boy.
I really miss the running gag that at least one person from every season eats at Dino House on a regular basis.
After Abaranger, they confirmed that Doggie Kruger from Dekaranger eats there regularly, where he became friends with fellow regular customer Miyuki Ozu, AKA Magimother from Magiranger, who in turn is friends with Makino, the Boukenger's mechanic, who is friends with Miki, the Gekiranger's trainer and boss, both also regular customers. Go-on Green worked at Dino Curry as one of his part time jobs, and during time travel shenanigans, Captain Marvelous ate there in the past, and was then confronted by Red Buster, who at least visited.
Wouldn't it be oldfags who want Sentai to be grimdark and edgy (and not really grimdark and edgy, just more serious)? 80s sentai could be harsh as fuck. It could be nice too, but Soda in his peak could be pretty depressing.
>Fuck off and enjoy the ride.
All you have is fucking manchildren bitching over a 30 second promo of a kids show that isn't being made for them. If you want to watch something more serious or dark....go watch Garo or some other toku that's similar.
So wait, at the end there when they were running to Minecraft King, it looked like they weren't really running with much pride? Must be a team that starts off not knowing what the fuck then slowly becoming an actual team, like ToQger I guess.
I think he means they weren't confident, and awkward. Like they're all new and unfamiliar with the whole Sentai deal.
Also are we getting a straight man red? Cause I'd totally be down with that if the others were all goofy.
Which tribute episodes of Gokaiger did you find really interesting and made you want to see more? Go watch that sentai. I went from Gokaiger to Boukenger and Liveman if you really want a good spoonfeeding.
Chief and Torin have some new competition.
Man is it just me or is Kyoryuger a massive waste of potentail?
They had great
>Character high concepts
>great suit desgins
>Great monsters desgins
>a lot of good episode ideas
>racism towards whites
Toku racism is always the funniest thing
>a christmas episode whose plot was more than just "We need to save christmas becuase christmas
why did it still feel so empty
>Kyoryuger had all these great things, why was it so empty guys?
You're giving me mixed messages here.
The only thing that disappointed me about Kyoryu was what a mess the tail end of the show was. It was like they forgot the show was going to end soon and just half assedly rushed an ending that would haphazardly tie up loose ends and force some drama.
I did find Daigo annoying, but I didn't develop the seething hate for him that everyone else did. For me, most of the other characters were interesting enough that I could forgive Daigo being so two dimensional. And even though a few of the Kyoryugers felt pretty underdeveloped at times, there were a few great focus episodes.
Finally, the villains. The Deboss generals are always going to be the high point of the show. I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing when the bad guys are more memorable than the heroes, but I am always going to remember Aigaron, Dogold, Candelira, and Luckyuro as the hidden stars of the show. Plus despite his lame habit of dying too often, Torin was one of the coolest mentors we've had in a while, and that was pretty cool.
I think it would have been really cool if they had Daigo fill a more similar role to his dad, ie bailling on them half way though the season just to find the earth's melody. It would have been cool if they had the balls to spend some of the season with out the red.
As well it would have given us more time with the others
>It was like they forgot the show was going to end soon and just half assedly rushed an ending that would haphazardly tie up loose ends and force some drama.
Yeah, that shit tends to happen every once and a while.
It's what it feels like with Ninninger right now.
>Here's a clip show episode with Shurikenger because why not
>Oh yeah and that big bad that's been talked about for the whole show is awake now
>Enjoy his presense for the last four episodes
>Deboss were the real stars
Fuck yes. You know there was more unique character merch on P-Bandai featuring the Deboss generals while Kyoryu was on the air than the actual Kyoryugers? They were obviously more popular with sentai fans too.
It's not often we get really cool memorable villains anymore. Enter and Escape are a good example, and Kagelesia and Kitaneidas.
What i want to know is is best ranger got to fuck Candelira
Why was this show so damn good ? Can't wait for more cheers...
>bailling on them half way though the season just to find the earth's melody
What? Why would you want that?
>It would have been cool if they had the balls to spend some of the season with out the red.
Oh. You actuallly think they'd focus on the rest of the team and not just the red by himself.
>OP sung by cast
They are a legit sentai now...
Yeah damn her making an actual good season.
I'm still thoroughly disappointed that they didn't release even a static figure of Wagon. That is capital bullshit.
Being honest, I can't think of any thing remarkable of Fuuka's character besides her actress being a semen demon (and sharing the lights with Kinji).
I remember at the begginings of the show anon saying Yellow was pretty dull, but his episodes have been pretty well done.and show he well could be the dark horse in the race for the Last Ninja Title.
Fuuka.....got perved by a vampire and had her birthday in an amusement park? Still, would fug the Fuuk. Hope the actress gets some future roles in/outside sentai.
Fuuka can't act surprise, she always does that retarded thing with her arm like in your gif...
it's like she was playing with 3 invisible dicks
>thinking the Last Ninja will be anyone other than Takaharu
I've not watched it, but I've heard Geki is pretty good for it.
While this probably doesn't fit the definition you meant, I like to point out Gokaiger because the personalities of the rangers really shines through in the suit acting.
>I like to point out Gokaiger because the personalities of the rangers really shines through in the suit acting.
It's also one of the few shows that I've seen so far where the characteristics though the suit acting carried out along with the main actors and vice-versa. Even the smallest details such as Joe's one hand sword fighting or the episode where Joe is doing one hand push ups in suit while waiting on Gai to finish with the mech battle.
There's a difference between silly and randumb, and just the same there's a difference between serious and edgy. I think both sides are trying to champion the more moderate option and assume that the opposite is suggesting the extreme.
The series has proven itself capable of a significant range of tones and structures even while adhering to its core concepts. I think a lot of people here are just getting tired of plots falling on the goofier, more formulaic sides and would like to see something a little different. "Darker" doesn't necessarily mean rampant murder, fanservice, swearing, etc. when the baseline is as bright and colorful as it is.
This is the kind of stuff you really need in a sentai. It's hard to give all the rangers a whole of a character development and lines, but there's a lot of body language and behavioral stuff you can do to make their personality shine though at all times. I find too many sentai series have 2-3 main characters... and then the rest.
It's also hilarious how Blue's seemingly random input about video recordings a while back became an actual plot.
Sun Vulcan and Go-Onger are two of my favourite seasons. Don and Gai are my favourite Gokaigers, Yellow Ninja and Blue Ninja are my favourite Kakurangers, Gosei Red is my favourite Red. I love the silly shit and I would still like to see some darker stuff then what we've been getting.
I thought ToQger actually got pretty dark. The whole thing about how the rangers were kids, their whole town in limbo, Light being consumed by the darkness.
It reminds of KR Den-O. On the surface, it looks light and goofy, but if you look at the setting, it's really dark considering how the victims of the imajins suffer fates arguably worse than death.
Epic. I'm watching Dino Charge, it's better than both Kyoryuger and Ninnigger :^)
I'm guessing you don't like 80s Sentai, you fucking child.
I would've posted a screencap from the Anti-PR FB purist page, but they deleted it, kek.
>better than both Kyoryuger and Ninninger
Fuck off back to /prg/.
>victims of the imajins suffer fates arguably worse than death.
Only if they are NEET, Hikikomori. Nothing particularly bad happens to the person they use as a Time Machine and the people that get erased only stay erased if no one remembers them after Den-O kills the monster.
He looks like he's the most badass one in the group with that shoulder-level arm though.
Not sure if this counts but there was a time when a local hero let Blue wear his device when they were having some drinks and forgot to get it back. Looks like a Rider, though.
