Can we get a web/m/ thread for the holiday?
Any Ragna/Paramail webms would make me a happy Anon.
Desert arc and pre-Odessa IIRC.
I remember some of them putting up quite a fight using Dodai YSs.
>posting non-/m/ stuff on /m/
Why? There's really wide variety of things accepted on /m/, including power armors, cyberpunk, tokusatsu, kaiju and fucking digimon and you still managed to fuck this up so hard. Get out.
Webms were in a GGG thread that is still in archive...
As for subs, someone timed G_P subs to Bunny Hat version of episode 1 (which is all she released so far): twitter.com /ptoadstool/ status/ 676659492352712704
Cross Ange is better and worse than Gundam SEED (Destiny).
Well, webm >>13692806 was made by someone who was supposedly using the BD version.
>concerned about the size
If you make a webm, do not make it small at the expense of quality.
Scene from the Expelled from Paradise movie
Mardock Scramble: The First Compression
It's literally the filename.
Or he could use 4chanX which will display the metadata in browser. Incidentally it's not in the webm in question, he's still a stupid fuck.
Not him, but I say it does, but it needs to be further from the action. A lot of MJP is too close for my liking.
Spincamera can be a recipe for disaster, but I absolutely dig it in Akito where it's perfectly in-sync with the action on-screen, and there's a predictable fluidity to each movement more or less.
See, I'm of the opinion that (in most cases) the camera should be a placid observer, but if it needs to accentuate a scene it needs to be influenced by the action, rather than influence it.
In Akito, in particular, the camera moves too "soon", or rather to "exactly" and it almost telegraphs the way the shot is gonna play out, and it ruins the illusion of spontaneity--it feels too choreographed (which of course, it is), but I feel that, and I don't like it so much.
There's some examples where I do like it because the director is more in tune with what they're trying to pull off, but Akito's direction really falls flat for me. Heck, despite my issue with MJP's camera being too damn close, its way more reactive than it is proactive. In the first 5 seconds of the webm that spawned this chain, Blue 2 just pops in from the right and then the camera moves to accommodate it into the shot. My bet is that if we were watching Akito's director do the same scene, the camera would snap to catch Blue 2 perfectly as it's entering the frame which would ruin the dynamism of the fight. That said, at least we'd get a little more distance between the objects.
It's not that I dislike CG or Orange either. Take a look at this one from Fafner. As opposed to the metronomic "hits" in Akito, the camera feels more like it's being pulled along the action.
Yeah there's that snap zoom at about 2.5s, but if you look a little closer the Trooper winds up slowly for the hit before the zoom.
I feel like if Akito had explicit cuts in between each new angle, instead of trying to pull off these longer takes it would evoke the stylization they seem, to me, to be gunning for.
Of course, that's just me.
I always thought this was such a dark turn for 00 and Gundam in general. Not that I didn't enjoy it.
>and Gundam in general
Oh yeah the cgi metal aliens killing people is much darker than gassing hundreds of thousands of people to use their home as a weapon like the original series starts every episode with
nigga quit that shit, you know what I mean
Instead of "dark" I should have said "tense". The 00 movie was one of the few moments where all of humanity was at stake, and it really felt like it was upping the ante. "Horrors of war" is it's own, different kind of thematic terror which we've all probably become desensitized to at this point given how many movies, shows, etc. are made about it. That, and there's something less terrifying when the enemies are human and not all-consuming alien hordes that will kill everyone by erupting spikes out of peoples' faces. It's a visceral kind of horror more than anything.
The reason the ELS actually felt like a terrifying enemy is because there wasn't any way to defeat them at all, that data book talked about how the Qant could but that was only if the pilot was some sort of robot, I actually like shit like this in fiction, finding some truly alien creature that is so superior to our own species that the only way to survive is making the agree with you because trying the usual humanity fuck yeah will only result in death
It's a take on the "gray goo" end-of-the-world scenario where self-replicating nanites consume and assimilate everything in an unstoppable swarm that resembles its namesake. I've always found that to be one of the more terrifying "we're fucked" sci-fi scenarios since it's so effective - you can't defend against nanites since they'll just assimilate any traditional weaponry and shit it back at you. It's also a force of nature that can't be reasoned with, so the protagonists have pretty much zero options for survival.
Also liked how the ELS were a legitimate alien entity and not some blue-skinned humanoid with antennae or just man-made nanomachines out of control.
Yes i m going to ask every sauce of every webm i think i could like. I know i m a lazy fag but i m on mobile and it s not easy to search for every thing i see. I m sorry senpais but if you could be so kind to help this poor soul you d get the first good deed of this new year. Happy 2016 senpais of /m/
Tactical use of of the Ariel mode o a Ragna-mail.
fuck off, grinch. it's way past christmas.
You know, this newfangled board was created just for this purpose. Try it out!
I don't have a problem with giving sauce, but several of the names of the mechs, pilots, or the shows themselves in the filename. at least put some effort into it, or just be a little patient and wait til you get to a computer.
t. Your senpai on /m/
Because I ain't a dick
One Punch Man
Expelled from Paradise movie
Muv Luv Alternative
Code Geass Akito
You are a dick, you are literally ruining /m/ by being a fag enabler and you are making much more people unhappy simply so you can feel self satisfaction of spoonfeeding a baby so he never does anything for himself again you faggot tripnigger
I love you anon.
Literally saved my holidays, now i don t have to constantly check for a 3g connection everywhere to check /m/ to see if someone answeres. I can live freely now and i can enjoy some good mecha once i m back home.
You are the real MVP.
Keep being kind and karma will get back to you, i m positive.
I wish you the happiest of 2016 to you and your family
And you could just go fuck yourself and keep jerking off to your anime wifu since you obviously don t even have the time to write 2 fucking words down if not to insult people. You could have done anything else in the time you ve spent insulting me, instead of giving me one straight and quick answer, and that would have made your life a little bit more meaningful. But you decided to just spit on that chance and keep rubbing your dick on your chair. You should start getting the pieces of your life togheter befeore it s too late
I want 2015 posters to leave. This is /m/.
>instead of giving me one straight and quick answer
>>just use desustorage
It's already been done, retard.
> desustorage + wsg = quick answer
That s not a quick answer. That s a lazy answer, retard.
> patience is a virtue
Insulted me as soon as i asked for sauce
> learn english
Those are big words for a retarded who doesn t speak any other language except for his mother language. At least i can speak mine and i can manage with english. Try learning something in your life, then you can start getting back at my written english
See this is how we know you're new, because you keep responding.
Anyone who's been here longer than a day would already know not to waste space in a thread with off topic shit. The only thing you're defending at this point is your own pride, which is useless because you're anonymous.
I m new to /m/, not to 4chan. I know that shit posting and insulting are a fondumental part of this place but i just can t keep myself from responding to retards. This place is considered cancer because you people make it so.
Maybe 2015 posters aren t a disease, maybe they are a cure.
>That s a lazy answer, retard.
>not the answer I wanted, so it's lazy!!!!
Also, that guy meant /wsr/
This anon, just asked you a question. Is there anything insulting about this? If you think so, you should go back to /co/
>This place is considered cancer
Ok? Who gives a fuck? Go elsewhere if you can't handle it.
To be fair, it was a popular gif before webm took over.
Speaking of, that looks so shitty like it was made from the gif.
Here's the proper webm that's not jittery as hell.
>you are making much more people unhappy
Why do you care? No seriously, why do you care, this isn't harming anyone, /m/ isn't /b/ or /v/ or /a/. /m/ has always been a helpful place, there is a big difference between spoon feeding and handing out sources, to spoonfeed I would have given out the links or sources to find and download the anime, Giving the name of an anime doesn't harm anyone you twit. You shouldn't let this bother you at all, you should enjoy the fact that people are interested in your mecha shows and want to know more about them.
There are worse things on /m/ being posted daily that do more harm to the board, than me handing out names of mecha animes. Now calm yourself and enjoy this thread.
He isnt giving them links so it isn't harming any one anon. /m/ isnt gif where we ask for porn source. If it wasnt for /m/ giving me the source for getter Robo webm a while back i would have never gotten into it
The majority of those webms have the source in them, or in their metadata.
Even yet, I don't mind the occasional request, but at least contribute with your post.
I don't think it harms anyone for the same reason cyber bullying isn't a thing, but it definitely does lower the decorum of discussion by doing this:
>it teaches the newfags that they can get whatever they want by spamming threads with sauce requests.
Are you recording your screen to make those? They could look way way less blurry.
Not to mention the length/filesize ratio is whack
The camera's moving a lot there, but it generally doesn't get massively close to the action. The real problem with MJP's camera lay in overly close shots, rather than the movement itself.
Oh yeah thanks I forgot about that, I tried that a long time ago when I first got the program and completely forgot about it. I tested it and it tends to crash a lot when trying to trim certain shows but I definitely see the difference.
He's a giant load of shit though.
>that data book talked about how the Qant could but that was only if the pilot was some sort of robot
Not only that, but it was also before they realized the ELS could:
>Copy weaponry, like Beam weaponry, which would have cocked the plan up
>Self Regenerated, which would have cocked the plan up
Even if they had sent Seven Swords Quanta at them, it wouldn't have done SHIT at the end of the day.
> Not listening to Ikenai Borderline nonstop since the preview episode
>mfw I'm listening to it as I see this post
Probably unlikely to happen in real life, grenade pins are REALLY well seated. That's why in movies seeing someone pull out the pin with their teeth is an impossible feat, at least not without cracking a tooth.
You must be the coward who prefers DRAGON-mails.
I'M THE BEST
No, really, it's pretty great.
Good on ya, Kamille
Its morons like that who ruin /m/ and try to make it a 'l33t okatu' club (oww, that hurt to type that) where asking questions is a crime
Even if there is a way to find it out, the fact is if you don't know where to start, you'll never find it
TL;DR Asking questions is never a bad thing; not asking for fear of being looked down upon is foolishness incarnate
So, ARISE isn't really a prequel as there are several differences between it and S.A.C. and even '95.
Like in that scene in The New Movie, the Major isn't yet part of Section 09 officially, she is in '95 and S.A.C.
Her origin in S.A.C. is different too, plane crash and cyberization after that vs. full cyberization at birth. It's supposed to evoke those sequences, and with some gymnastics it can be a prequel to either story, but it really fits safely in it's own timeline.
>For that matter 2nd GiG also ends with a sorta "prologue" to the manga, with Motoko and Batou sitting under a cherry tree drinking tea in their white ballistic gear.
The new movie has that as the aftercredits, with the major looking older
I posted it just because you hate it.
I only have like 120 postable web/m/s out of the total 218 I have saved at the moment and I never feel like really sitting down and making more since reposting other people's work is easier.
The best /m/ show from the previous season.
The Black Knight Rebellion at the end of season 1. Cornelia meets Lelouch at the top of the government building (in the garden replica of Lelouch's old home) and she proceeds to wreck his shit even with her inferior knightmare. But she gets impaled from behind by one of her own mind-controlled subordinates.
Actually on a technical level a lot of their cgi is amazing.
Especially when you look at vidya moneyshot fmvs.
Problem has been settling on what role it will play in anime, ranging from "just don't" to "emulate 2d" to "make it visually unique" to "make it all cgi."
Also there's just the ingrained stigma towards the tech, which has been a thing since Gonzo's heyday.
And then there's the trainwreck that is cgi effects in tokusatsu but then again tv budget cgi always looks bad, even western shit routinely looks off in the texture department.
Yeah it's that uncanny valley thing. CGI looks really good in Unicorn and 00 where they use it for ships and other non-organic effects. The problem arises is when you see humanoid or insect-like mechs having the whole uncanny valley affect, it just doesn't look right since it's based off an organic design.
