>About the transforming bike, there was a plan for "AD Patrol" (unpublished) that was a story of the city police. The main character rides a motorbike, which changes into his partner robot. That’s why the design drawing of the bike has "police" on it as the very first set up. We created the concept of a motorbike transforming into a fortified suit back then. So, it’s rooted on the future police story.

The stuff with the english text comes from the 'Imai Files,' a pdf created by one Roger Harkavy. He had a friend in Japan who obtained a bunch of stuff from Imai after it went bankrupt. Among these were several envelopes, one containing design concepts from Artmic for Mospeada and the others containing concept designs for what would become Southern Cross.

Roger scanned the unpublished stuff & released it as a pdf back in 2010.

Here we have some armour designs, back when Southern Cross was supposed to be 'Sci-Fi Sengoku.'

I suppose it's for armament variation. There are instances where the missile launchers would be necessary, and then there are times when the laser cannon would suffice.

Considering the military experience Stick has over Ray, and how seldom seen the missile launchers are on other soldiers, they must require greater skill to use over the laser cannon.

If we do get a remake of the series, think it should also explain how Houquet and Yellow getting their Bartley L and Blowsperior respectively, especially with Yellow, due to the fact he had no Blowsperior in that flashback in episode 11.

You'll notice in the first episode that Stick has his Mospeada stored on board the Legioss. Odds are that Yellow had the Blowsuperior stored aboard his Legioss as well.

As for Houquet, one can imagine she probably acquired the Bartley the same way that Ray found his Mospeada: she must have salvaged it from a wreck or military ruins.

First of all, he wasn't piloting a Legioss in that flashback. He was piloting this: A AF-03C Combat heavy fighter/bomber. Second, he wasn't dragging a Blowsperior with him when he ditched Donna to continue his fight with the Inbit. Meaning he could have found the Blowsperior in some military ruins like Ray, and as you say, Houquet did.

Also, given that Lim Dal-Young (Freezing, Kurokami) was involved with Gundam (discussion starting from >>13577331), how would a MOSPEADA remake be pulled off if he were involved?

Won't count on it. If you recall the dimensions (maneuver slave mode: overall height 3.85 meters; maneuver craft mode: overall height 0.94 meters, overall length 3.96 meters, overall width 1.35 meters), especially with how Shogo barely avoided the authorities in Part I, remaking the Garland will be difficult.

>>I had to rewatch the episode but you are correct. Yellow was with the First Invasion Fleet and therefore would have been piloting a Combat.

If he were First Invasion Fleet, wouldn't he be as old as Jim then? Because he doesn't look that old compared to Stick, Ray, and Houquet.

>If he were First Invasion Fleet, wouldn't he be as old as Jim then? Because he doesn't look that old compared to Stick, Ray, and Houquet.

The first fleet arrived three years before the second, making Yellow only a couple years older than Stick. Jim had either been with the military longer than Yellow prior to the First Invasion, or he simply enlisted at an older age.

>My bad. Thanks for correcting me.

You're welcome, and thanks for pointing out my oversight with the Combat.

>But don't most characters wear their Riding Suits when using the transformable fighters?

Yes and if they're all equipped as Stick was, they've got an armor bike loaded with their fighter craft so that they won't be left defenseless and immobile in case their fighter is left inoperable.

>Likewise with Jim during the last two episodes?

Odds are Jim abandoned his armor bike when he ran away, though as a mechanic he probably wouldn't have used it as much to begin with.

Ray glanced through the operation manual for the Tread and did well enough to get it off the ground and even survive a crash landing. Considering that Jim with his military training had difficulty piloting the Tread, it seems that the operation system for piloting a Legioss must be less complicated.

As for Houquet, she claimed to be adequate with machinery. It's possible she may have had prior experience with air craft.

They initially did well enough to pilot in Armo-Fighter mode. They were probably instructed shortly after on how to efficiently operate both Armo-Diver and Armo-Soldier modes.

That equipment could have been there since the First Invasion Fleet. You'll notice similar remains in the city during the second episode of the show. Vines and moss can also grow quickly based on the climate conditions. Half the show takes place throughout South America and it's never indicated what region LLA takes place.

You'll also notice towards the end that Mint doesn't appear noticeably older than she does by the show's conclusion.

That's what I don't get about Love, Live, Alive being two years after the TV series. If that were the case, everyone, not just Jim, should have aged. Stick and Aisha are somewhat exempted due to the former being from Mars, which has a different timezone, and the latter being a newly-born humanized Inbit.

Concerning Mika Doi, it may have been a combination of both Tatsunoko appreciating her voice acting talent along with her immediate availability. Hirotaka Suzuoki was just as greatly admired by Tatsunoko as he was by Sunrise and even worked with other studios in between SDF Macross, Mospeada, Orguss, Southern Cross, DYRL, and LLA.

Special skills: Operating mecha

>How does Houquet know of the name "Legioss" anyways when she watched Stick use the one Jim gave him?

Adding onto my earlier suggestion about aircraft experience, it's possible she may have previously seen or even piloted a Legioss, perhaps wherever she acquired the Bartley. Again, she does state that she has experience with machinery when she begins piloting the Zeta Legioss.

Other than her history with a biker gang, much of her backstory is left unexplained. Perhaps they could delve deeper into that if they ever get the project off the ground.

Hideki Kakinuma claims F-14. Here's the excerpt:

I read that same quote as well, and there's clearly no mention of the F-14. Kakinuma was referring to the use of Allied Invasion stripes on the original 1983 design a decade before the F-18's bore the stripes in 1994.

>>13677594
>since he's an engineer

So is Aramaki and several other notable designers. Unlike the Valkyrie or Legioss which both clearly resemble real-world jet fighters, the waverider is an originally-conceived fictional design which bears no resemblance to any real-world aircraft or spacecraft.

1. Episode 10 begins with three Eagers and two Grabs dropping the egg that has Aisha in it. Where exactly were they to take Aisha, and why?

2. In Episode 12, an Inbit's life force is basically a green egg of sorts loaded into a Grab. Does the color depend on the form (Eager, Grab, Gamo), or do all forms use the same color?

3. Two things from Episode 14:

a. Prior to turning that Grab into a Gamo, Refless asked if it wanted to do, with the Grab saying yes. Given that the names "Grab", "Eager", and "Gamo" were used, how do the main characters know those names, since they use them?

b. After leaving Mint to enjoy her newly wedded life with Machuda, Stick and chums see the Grab-turned-Gamo leave the Inbit fort. Given that a Gamo was also chasing them back in Episode 13, why didn't they recognize it?

4. Would Noriko Ohara as Refless' usage of "nanji", an archaic version of "you" in Japanese whenn addressing the two Gamos she turned into Battlar and Solzie be a reference to the term "Kikou Souseiki (Armored Genesis Book)"?

5. While their journey was charted so far back in Episode 14, where would Stick and chums have been in Episode 17, given that they were in the Carribean in the previous episode, and going to what appeared to be Texas in the next episode?

I'll answer these gradually.

>1. Episode 10 begins with three Eagers and two Grabs dropping the egg that has Aisha in it. Where exactly were they to take Aisha, and why?

It doesn't seem as though they were going anywhere in particular other than to plant the egg somewhere where the humans could find it. It does seem like they were looking for it later on, but once they figured out what became of it, they began observing Aisha from a distance.

>2. In Episode 12, an Inbit's life force is basically a green egg of sorts loaded into a Grab. Does the color depend on the form (Eager, Grab, Gamo), or do all forms use the same color?

As you can see in >>13626092, all Inbit start off as the same biological bug-like creatures before they are fused with their bio-mechanical bodies. If you'll recall the transformation in Episode 14, the egg stays the same green color all throughout the process. The only instance of an egg appearing a different color throughout the show is the pink one that was carrying Aisha, though that may have been because of her humanoid form.

>a. Prior to turning that Grab into a Gamo, Refless asked if it wanted to do, with the Grab saying yes. Given that the names "Grab", "Eager", and "Gamo" were used, how do the main characters know those names, since they use them?

Protect Inbit probably passed that information onto humans during some instances of communication.

>b. After leaving Mint to enjoy her newly wedded life with Machuda, Stick and chums see the Grab-turned-Gamo leave the Inbit fort. Given that a Gamo was also chasing them back in Episode 13, why didn't they recognize it?

They probably didn't get a good look at it while they were hiding in the cave. The only one who got a clear view of it was Mint and of course she wasn't with them when they saw the second Garmo.

>>13711537
>4. Would Noriko Ohara as Refless' usage of "nanji", an archaic version of "you" in Japanese whenn addressing the two Gamos she turned into Battlar and Solzie be a reference to the term "Kikou Souseiki (Armored Genesis Book)"?

A quick search indicates it's similar to "thou." I'm not really sure of the context here. I imagine all the Inbit who learned human speech would use contemporary words consistent with the time of their occupation, that being the mid to late 21st century.

>5. While their journey was charted so far back in Episode 14, where would Stick and chums have been in Episode 17, given that they were in the Carribean in the previous episode, and going to what appeared to be Texas in the next episode?

According to the map, they would have been in Central Mexico, most likely the Sierra Madre Oriental.

5. Given that Stick and chums went to New York City in Episode 22, why is there no dot in the actual location of the Big Apple?

Whoever drew this map obviously didn't know where NYC was located.

Agreed.

Finished re-watching episodes 19-20. Two questions:

1. In Episode 19, the city Stick and chums find underneath the mountain trail they were traveling on a city. How exactly does an entire city get buried under a mountain range?

2. In Episode 20, we are treated to Mint's backstory, where she originally had parents, yet, when we first she her in Episode 2, she was into looking for a guy to marry. Would the plot hole with her backstory be proof the show got rushed due to low ratings?

>1. In Episode 19, the city Stick and chums find underneath the mountain trail they were traveling on a city. How exactly does an entire city get buried under a mountain range?

Had it been a glacier, it would have taken more than just a couple decades for an entire city to be buried under the ice. It's more likely that it was deliberately built underneath the mountain as part of the heat generator's experimentation.

>2. In Episode 20, we are treated to Mint's backstory, where she originally had parents, yet, when we first she her in Episode 2, she was into looking for a guy to marry. Would the plot hole with her backstory be proof the show got rushed due to low ratings?

What plot hole? You'll recall in Episode 2 when Mint was asked about her parents, her demeanor suddenly became somber. When you take that into context, it makes sense why she would throw herself at every guy she meets; she doesn't want to live life alone.

If anything, the UNDERSTANDING conclusion is an indication of anxiety over ratings at the time.

2. The problem with Mint's backstory is that, all we were told is that, her birthdays were lonely because her parents overworked, and while her parents getting killed is a reasonable guess, how did Mint end up a wandering gold digger?

Also, in pic, would the wrecked fighter on the right be an AF-6DF Vulture?
>>
>>13716087
>how did Mint end up a wandering gold digger?

As an orphan, she had no where to go and no one to turn to, hence why she became quick to find a guy she could mooch off of. It's also why she was so upset when everyone in the group almost went their separate ways.

>AF-6DF Vulture?

Indeed. It's amazing that Gears doesn't have a page for it.

Re-finished Episode 21. Two things:

1. Do you agree with MAHQ's Chris that the Inbit were able to make Aisha, Battlar, and Solzie after experimenting on Rainy Boy?

2. How exactly were the soldiers Stick and company ran into because of Rainy Boy's soldier hunts able to hide in a village? IIRC, wouldn't soldiers like them be lynched just to appease the Inbit?
>>

>1. Do you agree with MAHQ's Chris that the Inbit were able to make Aisha, Battlar, and Solzie after experimenting on Rainy Boy?

They probably learned quite a bit about human anatomy experimenting on him and possibly countless others during their time on Earth.

>2. How exactly were the soldiers Stick and company ran into because of Rainy Boy's soldier hunts able to hide in a village? IIRC, wouldn't soldiers like them be lynched just to appease the Inbit?

The villagers probably condoned Rainy Boy killing every soldier who arrived thinking that would satisfy the Inbit.

Finished the last four episodes yesterday. I got these questions:

1. Two things from Episode 22:

a. Much like that promoter guy in Episode 5, would Simone from episode 22 be a soldier too in hiding, given that he knows that Yellow is really a cross-dressing singer?

b. Were Stick, Jim, Aisha, and Houquet really hiding in New Jersey when they saw Battlar go nuts across New York City?

2. In Episode 23, Shinobu Takeuchi's camera had a Mars Base insignia in it. Why is that, since she's from Moon Base?

3. For the ones wielding the synchrotron cannons in Episode 24, if they're not Condors, what are they?

4. From Episode 25:

a. Given that he said in a transmission addressed to First and Second Liberation Front remnants back in Episode 18 that he is in charge of the Third Liberation Front, why wasn't Mienne Darjeeling himself commanding the fleet heading to Earth, or was his appearance axed due to rushing the show's conclusion?

b. When finally making it to Refless' chamber, Jim was in a Ride Suit in the previous episode, yet took it off in this one. Why is that?

c. Like with why Mienne Darjeeling didn't show up, would there have been a reason there are still humanized Inbit on Earth, as Aisha noted while watching Stick return to Mars, yet it was not mentioned since the ending got rushed?

I'll be answering these piecemeal again.

>a. Much like that promoter guy in Episode 5, would Simone from episode 22 be a soldier too in hiding, given that he knows that Yellow is really a cross-dressing singer?

I doubt it. He just seems to know that Yellow is really a crossdresser. As for knowing Yellow's identity as a soldier, it's not clear whether or not he's already aware of this before meeting Yellow in person.

>b. Were Stick, Jim, Aisha, and Houquet really hiding in New Jersey when they saw Battlar go nuts across New York City?

If they were watching the entire city, including the boroughs of Queens and Brooklyn, being attacked, they would have to have been in either Jersey City or Hoboken, or rather in whatever was left given that this Inbit attack didn't bother with the surrounding areas.

>2. In Episode 23, Shinobu Takeuchi's camera had a Mars Base insignia in it. Why is that, since she's from Moon Base?

The camera, like a lot of the military equipment sent to Moon Base, was manufactured in Mars Base.
>>
>>13726718

1a. But if Simone would only know that Yellow is a crossdresser, that would mean he's from South America who just happened to move to New York City.

1b. But wasn't Battlar's rampage only in Manhattan?

2. Thanks

>3. For the ones wielding the synchrotron cannons in Episode 24, if they're not Condors, what are they?

Dark Legiosses.

The latter reason sounds like the most probable. It's too bad they never clarified that. I myself can imagine a scenario where he was relieved of duty because he was unwilling to use the Anubis-1 missiles.

>b. When finally making it to Refless' chamber, Jim was in a Ride Suit in the previous episode, yet took it off in this one. Why is that?

I can imagine this being the result of inconsistent animation. The animators likely had to rush through some scenes due to the sooner-than-expected deadlines.

>c. Like with why Mienne Darjeeling didn't show up, would there have been a reason there are still humanized Inbit on Earth, as Aisha noted while watching Stick return to Mars, yet it was not mentioned since the ending got rushed?

As we saw with Solzie and Battlar, humanized Inbit developed free will. They likely chose to stay on Earth rather than leave with Refless and all the less-evolved, hive-mind Inbit.
>>
>>13727223
>1a

That or Yellow's celebrity may very well have spread beyond South America by underground hearsay.

>1b

Given that Battlar said he wanted to kill all the humans in the city, that would have included those outside of Manhattan.
>>
>>13729502

3. How on Earth would the Second Liberation Front remnants have gotten a hold them?

4. Thanks

1b. But my question is, where were Stick and the others as they were watching Battlar burn Manhattan?
>>

>3. How on Earth would the Second Liberation Front remnants have gotten a hold them?

They could have arrived with an advance force like the one Shinobu was with.

>>13729628
>1b. But my question is, where were Stick and the others as they were watching Battlar burn Manhattan?

According to Chris at MAHQ, they were indeed in New Jersey. It's implied during the episode they are outside the city but still within viewing distance of Manhattan. Considering the Hudson River seems like it would leave a safe enough distance between them and the Inbit assault, NJ was most likely their safe zone.

2. Judging by the fauna watching Yellow in Love, Live, Alive's ending, would the OVA have taken place in North America?

3. Thanks
>>
>>13729989
Apparently he and Solzie decided to stay in North America while everyone else returned to either South America or Mars upon the show's conclusion.

>1a. Thanks
>3. Thanks

You are very welcome. All these questions have been helpful in looking into a lot of the minor details I had previously overlooked.
>>
>>13730696

Another thing about Love, Live, Alive: Given that Stick was in his Mars Base uniform when he, Aisha, Ray, Houquet, Mint, and Jim showed up after the concert, how was he able to return to Earth? Ordered to assist with reconstruction or left the UN military (calling them that based on pic in >>13707486), and kept the uniform for some reason?
>>
>>13730983
>Ordered to assist with reconstruction

I can believe that. His experience on Earth made him valuable in the aid and restoration of human society. Given his commitment as a soldier, it's not likely he would have left the military so soon.

I can also imagine him getting in contact with everyone else, Aisha in particular, as soon as he was on leave, hence why he would still be in uniform.
