/m/usic MEGA archive is here:
My OST rips and other albums I've bought can be found here:
This thread is for sharing /m/ OSTs and/or other similar music (even if they aren't /m/, like the Pacific album I shared in the last thread), but music discussions are okay as well. If you have any requests, post them here and I'll try and see if I can find them anywhere.
The album I'd like to start off with isn't /m/, but it was made by Akira Inoue (same dude who made the music for the Lensman movie).
Ripped by gmax_jp.
This is the soundtrack to the 1984 live-action movie directed by Masato Harada. So far it hasn't been released on CD yet...
If you liked the Lensman OST and the SPLASH album I uploaded, please give this one a listen; you won't be disappointed.
Square jewnix is gonna nuke all Dragon Quest related videos on youtube soon. That includes all symphonic suites composed Sugiyama who also made ost for Ideon.
Anyway, thanks for uploading all this in a time like this. I'm currently downloading everything i can seeing as how everything is currently crumnling with more and more copyright bullshits
This will be kinda lengthy, but since you asked:
"Windy Story" is the official English title of the film "ウィンディー", a 1984 film directed by Masato Harada. It was a collaboration between Toho-Towa and some German companies and was a film adaptation of a book by the same name, apparently.
Only two actors in the film are Japanese; the rest are German, but surprisingly enough Patrick Stewart and Dean Reed are in this film as well.
Another interesting thing to note is that the director thought it'd be a good idea to record the entire movie in English, something you don't expect often in a Japanese film...The official first version of the movie is in English with Japanese subtitles; a second version was made a while after to be broadcast on Japanese television. This version was dubbed in Japanese, some scenes were cut out, some songs were switched in different scenes, and the movie was cropped from its original 16:9 format to 4:3 by "panning and scanning"
Search up "Uindii (1984)" on Google and you can find a list of actors that appear on the film.
As for the plot...
I'm going to try and see if there's another synopsis that explains things better.
Last, but not least...
This movie hasn't been released on DVD yet, unfortunately. It was only released on VHS and LD and copies of them (especially the LD version) are extremely hard to find...
Luckily, I managed to get a VHS copy of it myself for $20. I plan on uploading it to YT (i finished recording it already ) but I want to improve the video quality first before doing so.
The Japanese dub has been uploaded onto YT if you're interested in watching it.
The Dunbine CD collection features the original 3 BGM OSTs from the show, the OST from the sequel OVA, and the Orchestral Suite in Byston Well album (the one I uploaded here). As a matter of fact, this is the first time ever that the Dunbine Orchestral Suite album gets released on CD.
It also contains some drama tracks as well. I'll try and see if I can manage to obtain them, as I happen to know someone from another forum who preordered the OST collection
Does anybody know if this has been uploaded to the internet yet? Looks interesting.
Anyways, Zambot 3 and Daitarn 3 OSTs have been added to the /m/usic archive
Looking back at the recordings I made for Dancing Xabungle, I might re-record it...some of the tracks could've been a bit more louder and some tracks have more of a "hissing" sound in the background than the other tracks
I'll see what I can do about this.
If anybody is interested, someone is selling the entire L-Gaim vinyl collection (minus the EPs) on Yahoo Auctions JP
Jam Trip L-Gaim is included in the collection, so if someone wants to make a FLAC rip out of that and the other albums, now's the chance to get it.
Pretty cheap, too. I'd get it but I'm still low on money right now and I don't want to get the same album again (L-Gaim Synthesizer Fantasy)
Amon - Apocalypse of Devilman Sound Edition
I also have two R2 DVDs: one with English subs, another is Portuguese/Russian only but it has extras. I know it's not difficult to make VOB subs though I'm lazy because it's time consuming. If someone wants the anime, I can provide links or torrents. DVD has much better video quality than existing rips.
Ulysses 31 Japanese OP & ED
Ripped from YT.
Sometimes I wish the show's Japanese BGM OST wasn't so hard to find...
Currently adding the Digital Trip OSTs I posted in the previous threads (that weren't my rips). Same thing with the Jam Trip OSTs
I'm adding the MP3 version of Digital Trip Hokuto no Ken to the archive but if anybody wants the FLAC version, just tell me and I'll upload it there
Votoms: The Unknown Chirico Story (Roots of Ambition OVA OST)
Lady's Song of Gallforce
vgmdb says "original work" - does it mean the songs don't belong to any part of the franchise? If I understand this correctly, the songs were just created by the same people under the brand of Gallforce.
Chances are it's an image album. I haven't watched Gall Force yet but if none of the songs appear in the show then it's most likely an original work based off of it
I have a quick question for you all:
So I just realized that Audacity has several tools that can allow me to remove some of the clicks/pops that you normally hear in vinyl transfers.
I don't have a problem with them myself (unless they were REALLY bad), but do you guys want me to release the album as it is? Or would you rather prefer to have them removed?
I seem to have found dead links, but once upon a time Eurox's Dig From the Past album was uploaded here, which had 2009 remixes of Galient World - Run For Your Life- among other things, that sounded even more 80's than the originals. Which says a lot. Can any /m/an reupload that somewhere?
I've changed my mind yet again
I've decided to remove any pops I can find within the music. Perhaps I can do the same thing with my other vinyl transfers (especially Dancing Xabungle)
I'll see if I can find another copy somewhere
Unfortunately I couldn't find it anywhere. It's probably best to just buy the album, I guess
To that one anon who wanted Digital Trip Southern Cross Synthesizer Fantasy:
I just bought a copy of it.
You can rejoice if you'd like
Does anyone know if the Star Musketeer Bismarck OSTs have been uploaded anywhere? I just found out that they've never been released on CD so far and surprisingly enough I can't find any rips anywhere
>Digital Trip L-Gaim Synthesizer Fantasy
Ripped and edited by me in FLAC
If we're posting Devilman I uploaded the OST for the first OVA onto mediafire awhile back. Got it from nyaa but there was only one seeder with a download speed of 20kbps. Hopefully with the vinyl release there will be a higher quality upload in the future.
This one isn't my rip, but I think you guys might find this interesting.
>Osamu Shoji - Star Wars (MP3)
To clarify what this album is:
Sometime after the first Star Wars movie came out, Osamu Shoji (the dude who made the music to the Space Adventure Cobra movie, Adieu Galaxy Express 999, and the majority of the albums in the Digital Trip series) made a re-arrangement album of the music in Star Wars redone using synthesizers.
To put it simply, consider this a "Digital Trip" album for Star Wars if you will.
The instruments he uses in this album are different than the ones he used in the future, so the music might sound rather...odd.
The album hasn't been released on CD so far (don't know if it ever will), but apparently the dude who uploaded this album says he got it on CD from a place called "Shoji Corp"
I can upload it in FLAC as well if anybody wants it
Currently just bought myself some new OSTs:
-Jam Trip L-Gaim
-Star Musketeer Bismarck Vol. 1
-NIAGARA SONG BOOK (composed by Akira Inoue)
Bismarck Vol 1 has already been uploaded onto YT but I decided to buy it myself to make a FLAC rip of it
Bismarck Vol 2 hasn't been uploaded anywhere at all yet but it's currently on Yahoo Auctions JP for 4800 yen
I got myself another OST:
>THE MUSIC OF LAYZNER
bought this for $7. cover art looks pretty cool if you ask me.
Idk what kind of music this contains, but I bought it since it doesn't appear to be uploaded on the internet yet. I would've gotten the CD version if it wasn't so ridiculously expensive
Forgot to upload the cover art...my bad
Well, it's actually my first time recording a VHS tape and transferring it to my PC...I want to improve the VHS quality as much possible.
I mean, I personally think it looks okay but I'm sure the quality could be improved a bit. Starseeker and RX782 helped me improve the video quality of the American LD version of the Lensman movie (for the v1 release), so I'm sure a VHS transfer could be improved too.
I guess this would be the place to ask,
on YT someone did 2 mash ups of FLY HIGH! one of them being an Instrumental, and the other one being a mashup of the original and the Nonon cover but they are both gone now due to a copyright claim within the last 2 or 3 months. I have the instrumental one but does anyone have the other?
Also the instrumental I was talking about. https://www.mediafire.com/?3ad6cuhj04qwo8c
This is the intro to the movie.
The song might sound weird AF but I actually find it kinda catchy...too bad it never made it into the soundtrack
When you fullscreen, the film shouldn't appear as a rectangle surrounded by black on all sides. Having either black bars on the top and bottom is fine, having black bars on the sides is fine... but not both. If it can't be helped, don't worry about it, but ideally you should crop it so you don't lose any of the image, but it can also be fullscreened without appearing as a box within a box.
I *could* crop it to 16:9 if I want to.
As a matter of fact, I was hoping I could find someone who could improve the quality (via filters in AVISynth or whatever) so that it'd still look just as okay if I cropped it to 16:9.
I'm still waiting for a response from Nanto regarding this, but if the quality looks okay as it is to you guys I can just crop it to 16:9 and release it already
I'll be posting it on YT and providing a DL link as well
Speaking of Windy Story...
I just bought myself a copy of the album. I'll rip it in FLAC and replace the current copy we have here right now to whoever is interested
I'll also be posting the ost to Ninja Senshi Tobikage later
If I set it to 16:9 normally, there'll still be a tiny black bar at the bottom and the picture at the top will be cut off a bit...this is actually because of the way the movie's positioned in the VHS tape, despite being in 16:9
That's why I have to move the picture myself and crop it to 16:9 in Sony Vegas
Ninja Senshi Tobikage OST
Thank you for this thread, I just lost all of my music I'd collected over the past 6 years, mostly /m/ stuff. This'll be a good way to get rebuilding, along with the old /m/ soundtracks I found around.
Where does everyone else get their music from, besides ripping it themselves?
There's a forum I go to where a lot of anime music is shared (i share my music on there as well) and there's a french website i also go to to download OSTs that aren't my rips
There are some Japanese and Chinese sites i know of that have some of the Area 88 OSTs in lossless, but unfortunately Idk how to get them
If anybody could help me out with it, it'd be greatly appreciated...the websites also have a lossless version of Digital Trip Z Gundam and this Gundam album:
Big O OST #1
Big O OST #2
Maybe this will help:
I grabbed the other version from that French site I mentioned earlier, didn't realize there were corrupt tracks. Sorry
Haven't yet, sorry.
I don't think I mentioned this yet, but in case I haven't:
Recently I just found out how to remove clicks/pops from a vinyl transfer and how to reduce the "buzzing" and "hissing" noises that you commonly hear in all of my vinyl transfers. I've decided to use this opportunity to record my Digital Trip albums again and make them 10x better than my previous rips.
It'll take a while, but it'll be worth the time.
...If you still want to listen to my previous rip of it, though, here's the link:
ATM I am currently editing Digital Trip Queen Emeraldas and Space Fantasy Emeraldas:
Unfortunately I don't have any of them. I did listen to a track from the Far East album and I have to say, it sounds really great:
EUROX's first album was "MEGATREND" but the only available links there were for it are dead, sadly.
If you have the money for it I can give you the links to the CD versions if you'd like to buy them. Both the CD versions of "Far East" and "MEGATREND" contain extra tracks that weren't on the CD version
Currently downloading it from Nyaa.se right now. I'll post it on the /m/usic archive when it's done downloading
>Both the CD versions of "Far East" and "MEGATREND" contain extra tracks that weren't on the CD version
I fucked up, I meant to say that the extra tracks aren't on the vinyl version.
Shin Getter Robo Vocal Collection: Dragon Battle has been added to the MEGA /m/usic archive
Anyone got a high quality of this image?
One of my close friends on Jewbook got the CD and scanned it himself. I don't know if he's ripped it or not.
Looking for the Giant Gorg OST if anyone has it.
Ripped by Nanto.
The original link provided by him is gone since it was on his blogspot (which is now deleted), so here's a backup link I made. I only take credit for changing the song titles to English.
I also have the "Giant Gorg Super Collection OST", which contains some unreleased BGM tracks not featured in Vol. 1 or Vol. 2. I'll post it here in a bit
Update on the "Windy Story" movie:
Nanto finally manage to find someone who could improve the quality. Some improvements were made, but unfortunately the person forgot to include color correction (it still looks fine, though)
I'll mux the audio track with the video file and try to have it uploaded to YT sometime this week.
>Giant Gorg Synthesizer Fantasy
Refer to this post here: >>13549524
It contains an old version of a previous recording I made for Giant Gorg, but I'll post a better version of it in the future when it's ready.
Here's the Super Collection OST:
Just added a new album to the /m/usic archive. It's not /m/, but I think you guys will enjoy it a lot.
>A LONG VACATION
To clarify what it is:
One of the vinyl albums I ordered from Yahoo Auctions JP is a rather interesting album titled "NIAGARA SONG BOOK"; arranged by Akira Inoue, this album contains orchestra versions of songs originally made by a singer, Eiichi Ohtaki.
Most of the tracks that "NIAGARA SONG BOOK" remade come from Eiichi Ohtaki's "A LONG VACATION" album. Here's a track from that album:
I uploaded the entire album, including 2 instrumental versions of the album where one version has the vocals replaced with other instruments and another version containing just the background instruments.
Unfortunately, the 128 kbps version is the only one I could find, but I'll think about buying the album myself in the future.
Some more information about this album:
If I'm not mistaken, I believe this album was actually the first album to be made into a CD in Japan in 1982. Interesting...
The album (along with the NIAGARA SONG BOOK album) was part of a series of albums in a label titled "NIAGARA Records"; this label was made by Eiichi Ohtaki and it also appears that he released a lot of his albums in this label.
I can upload "NIAGARA SONG BOOK" if you guys want me to, but like the album I just posted, it's unfortunately in 128 kbps. When the vinyl version arrives in the mail, I'll make a lossless version of it
It's a long shot, but if anyone could keep an eye out for the Garo Goldstorm OST that was only packaged with the Blu Ray Box, that'd be appreciated
I just tried doing some research on this and if I'm not mistaken it appears there was both a TV series and a movie.
Which one are you looking for? I might have found it, could you give me a link to the one you're looking for specifically?
Would this be it, by any chance? The website I got it from says it was packaged with a Blu-Ray box
This is the only one I could find
Here's something special: the Hikari no Densetsu OST
I've had this for a while but it just now occurred to me to share it here... It's a really nice upbeat soulful 80s OST with a couple "band songs" with vocals. Always puts me in a good mood. Someone clearly ripped it from vinyl as it has pops and scratches, but for me that makes the experience feel warmer. You could try removing them if you want, Marty!
I hope you guys enjoy it.
>Remenber this being a subs never show
>There's a rip with english and french subs since march
Almost forgot about this >>13538551 >>13538776.
Like I said, it can be download with no problems.
Can anyone post Cyborg 009 vs. Devilman tracklist? A guy on ADC can't upload it without this info. I'll share.
Ah, this is from a mangaka who used to be in this kind of sports.
The "improved" version that Nanto sent me had some problems, so for the meantime here's my version. I'll update the link if he ever manages to improve it again
On second thought, this is the only version I'll have to stick to right now. The problem with the other version can't be fixed unless I record it at a higher resolution, but I think this looks good enough right now
It's from Police Squad.
Star Musketeer Bismarck BGM Collection Vol. 1
Ripped from a cassette tape. I'll upload a better version when the vinyl version arrives in the mail
Not my rip.
Pretty neat. On a related note, one of the German VAs passed away recently.
Here's the GBF OST in the meantime
I'll post the OP/ED singles later, as it's taking me a while to get them right now
I found a Space Sheriff-related OST on a torrent site with this image, could this also be what you're looking for? If it is, I can download it and post it here
Is still up:
Sorry , I didn't read well.
You were talking about the download link , not the video , my bad
Unfortunately, the torrent appears to have no seeders for the moment
I'm going to try and request seeds on the website that it's on to see if I can get anyone to re-seed it...this website seems to be the only page that has this album available for download
I hate to announce this...but I may have fucked up my Lensman Synthesizer Fantasy album.
I tried to clean it just now and it sounds even more dirtier...Idk if I'll be able to clean it or even fix it, but it'll be a while before I can upload a better version of the OST...
I have a previous version I made that was edited by someone else, so I'll probably just upload that version instead.
I'll probably just post it right now anyway
So the Japanese version of Terrahawks had some new music made not featured in the original English version; I think the original BGM was kept intact, but they made some new BGM tracks and some original vocal tracks as well
An animated sequence was also made for the OP and ED as well, not seen in the original English version
Here's the full OP and ED song:
Here's the tune that plays after the ED song is finished in the OP/ED video (it's really catchy, give it a listen)
The Japanese LP record containing the tracks is really hard to find unfortunately, but a friend of mine is traveling to Japan next week; I'll ask him if he can try and find the album there when he has the time
The first Gundam Wing ost is best imo. I love how ridiculous some of the song names are, it helps that the songs themselves are bretty gud too.
Searching for Peaces Buried Corpse is one of my favorites in both categories.
There are still some wood glue bits left on the record and some are stuck (I'll have to find a way to take it off), but for the most part...it seems to have worked.
I only tried cleaning it so I could get one song fixed, anyway. I'll check it out later but hopefully everything should be fine.
I was just looking at the CD releases of some mecha anime shows...and I'd like to know something about them:
Why are they so damn expensive? The 2CD release of Dorvack costs more than $75 but I can get both BGM OSTs on vinyl for $15.
God Mazinger OST (not my rip)
It won't arrive until February, I'm afraid. Since I ordered that album along with some other vinyl albums, the shipping cost ended up being higher than I thought it'd be and I had to pay for a cheaper shipping method where it'll arrive in 2-3 months
A copy of the album is actually on sale right now in Yahoo Auctions JP...I hope to buy it soon so I can make a FLAC rip of it
An anon here suggested that I should open a GoFundMe-esque thing where everyone can donate money to pay for albums they want but can't afford/rip so I can buy them and rip them myself (it'd be useful if they wanted a vinyl only /m/ album that they can't rip themselves)...it sounds like a good idea to me but I've never opened a GoFundMe before so I don't really have any experience with it
it also depends on whether people actually want to donate or not
I apologize for taking too long but I have the Build Fighter Try OSTs uplaoded on the /m/usic archive if you want to check them out
I couldn't get the OP/ED singles since they were a pain in the ass to try and get, unfortunately
Not my rip
This one may seem obvious but I can't find 0079 and ZZ soundtrack/s
In return here is the Greco soundtrack
Currently uploading the 0079 OSTs to the /m/usic archive right now. All the OSTs aren't done uploading yet, but slowly and slowly more songs and albums will fill up in the "Gundam" folder
And speaking of 0079...
Does anybody know if the "Star Children" song was ever used in the first 0079 compilation movie? I watched it a while ago but I don't think I ever heard the song being used in it at all.
Thanks for all the music you guys posted.
Can you help me out? What's the theme that plays in the 2000 audio mix of Gundam movie III when Sleggar rams into Big Zam?
/m/ there was this video on youtube i used to hear while doing my stuff which was basically a compilation of all gundam openings, do you guys have any source or anything?
tl;dr requesting gundamus openingus
Idk the name of the song unfortunately, but I know for sure it has to be on the Gundam 0079 movie OSTs
I couldn't finish uploading it because of an internet problem I had but I'll try and finish it today
Yamashita makes some really good music, feel free to upload them if you'd like
I know which video you're talking about, actually...I used to listen to it myself.
However, after searching on YT, it seems to have been taken down already; the uploader had a history of trying to keep the video up and fight against the copyright strikes that Bandai kept sending but it seems like he lost, unfortunately
As for the Gundam OPs...
Sadly, some other OPs/EDs were left out but I'll try and see if I can find them on another single
Just added a very special OST to the /m/usic MEGA archive:
>Ulysses 31 Japanese OST
Considered by many to be the "holy grail" of anime soundtracks, both the vinyl and CD version of this OST are incredibly hard to find and can go for very high prices.
However, a member over at the FFShrine forums (valrhodes) created a website where people could donate money so that the money could be gathered up and used afterwards to buy a copy of the CD version that was on sale over at Yahoo Auctions JP a while ago.
Without the help of "valrhodes", this soundtrack probably would've remained unreleased for a very long time...but after 25+ years, the soundtrack is finally here.
With the exception of the ending song, the entire soundtrack was composed by Kei Wakakusa (L-Gaim, God Mars). If you enjoy his music, I HIGHLY recommend listening to this album; it's really well done if you ask me.
The OST is in the "Other" folder in the MEGA archive.
Does anyone know if "ssgo.org" is legit? Apparently there's a FLAC rip of the "Heavy Metal L-Gaim SPECIAL" CD OST on there, which contains TV sized versions of the vocal songs (OP, ED, etc), and an English version of "Time for L-Gaim".
Disc 2 of the album even appears to have the 2 L-Gaim Odyssey LP arrangement albums on there. If the website's safe and stuff, then I could perhaps download it and release it here
Here it is...Digital Trip Lensman Synthesizer Fantasy in FLAC.
Some tracks still sound like crap, but unfortunately that is because the record is in terrible condition...
I plan to use wood glue on it again in the future to see if I can make it cleaner. If it works, I'll consider recording it again.
Big thanks goes to Tangotreats from FFShrine for helping me edit the tracks and trying his best to make the tracks sound as clean as possible.
Now that I'm done with this album, I can finally start working on my other LP albums...
sorry I took so long anon, here is the link
I will upload the entire macross plus soundtrack tomorrow morning in case anybody else is interested in the tracks
All 4 Macross Plus albums + A few of the srw remixes I could find.
I know this is probably something I should be deciding on my own, but there's two albums I'd like to buy...I only have enough money to get one of them, though.
>Powered Armor Dorvack Vol. 1
>Choriki Robo Galatt Vol. 1
Which one should I get?
I don't think this has been uploaded at all but I also got this album a while ago recently. Looks interesting
A few threads ago, someone also brought up the Greed OVA done by Tomonori Kogawa and its LP OST; I've also bought that album as well
As for the Dorvack and Galatt LP albums...I'm going to try and see if I can put in a little more money to get both Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 LP albums of both Dorvack and Galatt
I'm going to try and save up money to get better recording equipment in the future...I'm tired of hearing the 60 Hz hum that's present in all of my vinyl recordings and it appears that getting a new pre-amp is the only way to fix it...
I'm afraid this means that I won't be recording any albums for now...unless of course you guys really don't mind hearing it in the background.
Alright, just bought Vol. 1 of the Galatt BGM soundtrack. I haven't added in the money yet but I now have enough to get Vol. 2 of the Galatt BGM and Vol. 1~2 of the Dorvack original soundtrack.
On second thought, I might have found a solution
I'm currently using Izotope RX right now and I found a feature that can reduce the volume of the hiss and 60 Hz hum that's present in all of my vinyl transfers. The sound quality might be reduced a bit as a result of using it, but it's better than having more hiss/hum than audio imo (especially with the Digital Trip Giant Gorg)
I'm going to test it out a bit more...if it's as good as I hope it is, I'll continue recording.
I'll still save up money to get a new pre-amp, though...that's for sure
So far I tried out the filters on a track from the Roman Trip Hi-Speed Jecy album I uploaded here and it seems to be going well so far. I'll try it out on a few more tracks, but at this point I think everything is alright for now
I'll have to try out different settings on each album but I'm currently working on improving Digital Trip Lensman again
I'll try and see if I can work on the other albums afterwards
