This will be kinda lengthy, but since you asked:

"Windy Story" is the official English title of the film "ウィンディー", a 1984 film directed by Masato Harada. It was a collaboration between Toho-Towa and some German companies and was a film adaptation of a book by the same name, apparently.

Only two actors in the film are Japanese; the rest are German, but surprisingly enough Patrick Stewart and Dean Reed are in this film as well.

Another interesting thing to note is that the director thought it'd be a good idea to record the entire movie in English, something you don't expect often in a Japanese film...The official first version of the movie is in English with Japanese subtitles; a second version was made a while after to be broadcast on Japanese television. This version was dubbed in Japanese, some scenes were cut out, some songs were switched in different scenes, and the movie was cropped from its original 16:9 format to 4:3 by "panning and scanning"

Search up "Uindii (1984)" on Google and you can find a list of actors that appear on the film.

Last, but not least...

This movie hasn't been released on DVD yet, unfortunately. It was only released on VHS and LD and copies of them (especially the LD version) are extremely hard to find...

Luckily, I managed to get a VHS copy of it myself for $20. I plan on uploading it to YT (i finished recording it already ) but I want to improve the video quality first before doing so.

The Japanese dub has been uploaded onto YT if you're interested in watching it.

The Dunbine CD collection features the original 3 BGM OSTs from the show, the OST from the sequel OVA, and the Orchestral Suite in Byston Well album (the one I uploaded here). As a matter of fact, this is the first time ever that the Dunbine Orchestral Suite album gets released on CD.

It also contains some drama tracks as well. I'll try and see if I can manage to obtain them, as I happen to know someone from another forum who preordered the OST collection

Looking back at the recordings I made for Dancing Xabungle, I might re-record it...some of the tracks could've been a bit more louder and some tracks have more of a "hissing" sound in the background than the other tracks

I'll see what I can do about this.

I have a quick question for you all:

So I just realized that Audacity has several tools that can allow me to remove some of the clicks/pops that you normally hear in vinyl transfers.

I don't have a problem with them myself (unless they were REALLY bad), but do you guys want me to release the album as it is? Or would you rather prefer to have them removed?

If we're posting Devilman I uploaded the OST for the first OVA onto mediafire awhile back. Got it from nyaa but there was only one seeder with a download speed of 20kbps. Hopefully with the vinyl release there will be a higher quality upload in the future.

To clarify what this album is:

Sometime after the first Star Wars movie came out, Osamu Shoji (the dude who made the music to the Space Adventure Cobra movie, Adieu Galaxy Express 999, and the majority of the albums in the Digital Trip series) made a re-arrangement album of the music in Star Wars redone using synthesizers.

To put it simply, consider this a "Digital Trip" album for Star Wars if you will.

The instruments he uses in this album are different than the ones he used in the future, so the music might sound rather...odd.

The album hasn't been released on CD so far (don't know if it ever will), but apparently the dude who uploaded this album says he got it on CD from a place called "Shoji Corp"

I can upload it in FLAC as well if anybody wants it

Well, it's actually my first time recording a VHS tape and transferring it to my PC...I want to improve the VHS quality as much possible.

I mean, I personally think it looks okay but I'm sure the quality could be improved a bit. Starseeker and RX782 helped me improve the video quality of the American LD version of the Lensman movie (for the v1 release), so I'm sure a VHS transfer could be improved too.

When you fullscreen, the film shouldn't appear as a rectangle surrounded by black on all sides. Having either black bars on the top and bottom is fine, having black bars on the sides is fine... but not both. If it can't be helped, don't worry about it, but ideally you should crop it so you don't lose any of the image, but it can also be fullscreened without appearing as a box within a box.

If I set it to 16:9 normally, there'll still be a tiny black bar at the bottom and the picture at the top will be cut off a bit...this is actually because of the way the movie's positioned in the VHS tape, despite being in 16:9

That's why I have to move the picture myself and crop it to 16:9 in Sony Vegas

Recently I just found out how to remove clicks/pops from a vinyl transfer and how to reduce the "buzzing" and "hissing" noises that you commonly hear in all of my vinyl transfers. I've decided to use this opportunity to record my Digital Trip albums again and make them 10x better than my previous rips.

It'll take a while, but it'll be worth the time.

Nanto finally manage to find someone who could improve the quality. Some improvements were made, but unfortunately the person forgot to include color correction (it still looks fine, though)

To clarify what it is:

One of the vinyl albums I ordered from Yahoo Auctions JP is a rather interesting album titled "NIAGARA SONG BOOK"; arranged by Akira Inoue, this album contains orchestra versions of songs originally made by a singer, Eiichi Ohtaki.

Most of the tracks that "NIAGARA SONG BOOK" remade come from Eiichi Ohtaki's "A LONG VACATION" album. Here's a track from that album:

I uploaded the entire album, including 2 instrumental versions of the album where one version has the vocals replaced with other instruments and another version containing just the background instruments.

Unfortunately, the 128 kbps version is the only one I could find, but I'll think about buying the album myself in the future.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe this album was actually the first album to be made into a CD in Japan in 1982. Interesting...

The album (along with the NIAGARA SONG BOOK album) was part of a series of albums in a label titled "NIAGARA Records"; this label was made by Eiichi Ohtaki and it also appears that he released a lot of his albums in this label.

I've had this for a while but it just now occurred to me to share it here... It's a really nice upbeat soulful 80s OST with a couple "band songs" with vocals. Always puts me in a good mood. Someone clearly ripped it from vinyl as it has pops and scratches, but for me that makes the experience feel warmer. You could try removing them if you want, Marty!

I hate to announce this...but I may have fucked up my Lensman Synthesizer Fantasy album.

I tried to clean it just now and it sounds even more dirtier...Idk if I'll be able to clean it or even fix it, but it'll be a while before I can upload a better version of the OST...

I have a previous version I made that was edited by someone else, so I'll probably just upload that version instead.

The first Gundam Wing ost is best imo. I love how ridiculous some of the song names are, it helps that the songs themselves are bretty gud too.

There are still some wood glue bits left on the record and some are stuck (I'll have to find a way to take it off), but for the most part...it seems to have worked.

I only tried cleaning it so I could get one song fixed, anyway. I'll check it out later but hopefully everything should be fine.

I was just looking at the CD releases of some mecha anime shows...and I'd like to know something about them:

Why are they so damn expensive? The 2CD release of Dorvack costs more than $75 but I can get both BGM OSTs on vinyl for $15.

Just added a very special OST to the /m/usic MEGA archive:

Considered by many to be the "holy grail" of anime soundtracks, both the vinyl and CD version of this OST are incredibly hard to find and can go for very high prices.

However, a member over at the FFShrine forums (valrhodes) created a website where people could donate money so that the money could be gathered up and used afterwards to buy a copy of the CD version that was on sale over at Yahoo Auctions JP a while ago.

Without the help of "valrhodes", this soundtrack probably would've remained unreleased for a very long time...but after 25+ years, the soundtrack is finally here.

With the exception of the ending song, the entire soundtrack was composed by Kei Wakakusa (L-Gaim, God Mars). If you enjoy his music, I HIGHLY recommend listening to this album; it's really well done if you ask me.

The OST is in the "Other" folder in the MEGA archive.

Does anyone know if "ssgo.org" is legit? Apparently there's a FLAC rip of the "Heavy Metal L-Gaim SPECIAL" CD OST on there, which contains TV sized versions of the vocal songs (OP, ED, etc), and an English version of "Time for L-Gaim".

Disc 2 of the album even appears to have the 2 L-Gaim Odyssey LP arrangement albums on there. If the website's safe and stuff, then I could perhaps download it and release it here

Some tracks still sound like crap, but unfortunately that is because the record is in terrible condition...

I plan to use wood glue on it again in the future to see if I can make it cleaner. If it works, I'll consider recording it again.

I'm going to try and save up money to get better recording equipment in the future...I'm tired of hearing the 60 Hz hum that's present in all of my vinyl recordings and it appears that getting a new pre-amp is the only way to fix it...

I'm afraid this means that I won't be recording any albums for now...unless of course you guys really don't mind hearing it in the background.

On second thought, I might have found a solution

I'm currently using Izotope RX right now and I found a feature that can reduce the volume of the hiss and 60 Hz hum that's present in all of my vinyl transfers. The sound quality might be reduced a bit as a result of using it, but it's better than having more hiss/hum than audio imo (especially with the Digital Trip Giant Gorg)

I'm going to test it out a bit more...if it's as good as I hope it is, I'll continue recording.

I'll still save up money to get a new pre-amp, though...that's for sure

So far I tried out the filters on a track from the Roman Trip Hi-Speed Jecy album I uploaded here and it seems to be going well so far. I'll try it out on a few more tracks, but at this point I think everything is alright for now
