Episode 12: Capital Tower Occupied
More AoZ stuff for people who liked the G-Arcane from last thread.
G-Self: Akira Yasuda
G-Arcane: Ippei Gyōbu
???: Kimitoshi Yamane
At least according to the wiki.
Given it's performance and feats in battle, I suppose the mack knife is space-only and not suited for an earth (or under gravity) fight?
I still think the Mack Knife is stupid looking compared to the almost-perfect Elf Bull
Also, I laughed at the crotch-missiles (but it was a good idea)
Yeah, the Elf has a much better design, but until now, the Mack Knife got much much better battle choregraphy.
No, seriously, the moves they pull out are god tier, I don't remember something as good in the last years.
I was thinking the same thing, but given how the Armorzagan moves even in atmosphere they've probably come up with some method of maintaining the same sort of performance there as well.
Ships and other mechanical things like the small walkers maybe the nuts and things too?
Christ these new MS are ugly.
i was really hoping the people on the moon would have some really advanced MS and ships that stood out from the other Earth-developed suits, but they are all just ugly lumps of dull blues, greens and purple.
He did a design sheet for it at least.
It's doesn't have a lot of production experience, but I think his designs are pretty cool looking all around.
Hell yeah. I hope we get to see a lot more of Banana fighting. I love her fighting style.
Happa might be moving his way up the list of my favorite mechanics. He's got a lot of screen time, seems generally level headed and experienced, and idk I just like him.
It's too bad he's probably going to die in a dumb way, like getting blasted out of the hangar while trying to keep Chan from launching
Alright, I realize this isn't the best place, but i have to ask. So, I really didn't like the first few episodes of Greco. It would have been alright, but I felt like the genuinely awful pacing ruined it. Also the animation looked like it was at like 20fps or something, but thats a minor gripe. Now all this in mind, do you think I should pick this show back up? I genuinely love all the mech and character designs, and I really want to love this show. Now that it's 10 episodes later, do you think I should give it another shot?
More key frames, less in-between animation. The art tends to focus more on looking good than having smooth and clean animation. As a result, it's beautiful, but kind of choppy. It's barely noticeable anymore though, and the pacing's slowed down, though most scenes are still lightning fast compared to other shows. This show has a lot of energy.
>The Moonrace are probably just there to stop Heretics
That makes sense.
And I've been posting with 4chan x for so long, that posting the old way seem weird and conter productive.
It is something I myself have gotten very used to. It's very nice indeed.
The only problem is when it breaks and I have to reinstall it or wait for m00t to stop fucking the site or it to update.
Can anyone explain the reflector pack?
As much as I liked it and the absorption effects were real cool, I can't help but feel it was shoehorned into the episode. I think I also heard that it wasn't originally going to be in the episode but toys happened and here we go. It doesn't help that the end of ep. 5 had belliri talking about how he's going to get to use the space backpack and then suddenly reflector pack.
So anyway, what did it even do? Absorb beams, break and...charge energy for some sort of discharge? Kind of left me confused; is it gone forever? Because it really would benefit from an explanation.
In general, I'm just wondering if it ever gets explained or it was a one-time toy thing. As it stands if (hypothetically) G-Reco gets into SRW, I don't see how the pack could be used. Which would make me sad.
>genuinely awful pacing ruined it
See, this is weird to me, since I didn't find the pacing off at all. Honestly, of all the shows I've watched along with /m/ (every gendum and most non-toku anime since 2007), I'm enjoying this one the most. It's incredibly refreshing to have characters that don't act like actors in a play and to have the level of attention to detail that G-Reco has.
>but toys happened and here we go
There is no announced Reflector Pack kit, so it's not because of toys. In fact, almost none of the backpacks are getting kits. There was some reworking of the episode, at least according to the twitter posts of some animators.
>belliri talking about how he's going to get to use the space backpack
Remember, Bellri's technically a political prisoner aboard the Megafauna and has no input on what their doing; as for the Megafauna, they want to test out as many Rose of Hermes UC-era technologies as they can while they have access to the G-Self. Obviously, they'd rather someone else pilot it, but due to the Rayhunton code, only Raraiya, Bellri, or Aida can fly it, and one's had brain damage, and Aida's not only a terrible pilot (Klim outright states it in ep 12) but she's a VIP.
>So anyway, what did it even do?
It converts beams into useable energy. This is something we've never seen in UC.
Also, I guess I forgot to ask, what exactly did it do when rescuing Klim? I get that that was using excess energy stored up from the Reflector but...what was that phoenix cloud thing? Is anything the G-Self does ever explained?
It was protecting the Montero from atmospheric reentry. The G-Self can survive re-entry by itself, but the Montero can't. It's meant to be used as a barrier for battle, I'd imagine, but Bell improvised with its use, as he always does with these backpacks that he hates.
>As it stands if (hypothetically) G-Reco gets into SRW, I don't see how the pack could be used. Which would make me sad.
Yeah you right. Look at arcade game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65Y68BR9sP8
Except if someone said Bellri-tachi they wouldn't be implying there are multiple Bellris. It's the group that is with Bellri. You could say "Bellri and them/the guys", or just "the guys".
This shit is going to come up in just about every show you watch and if this usage annoys you I don't know how you can stand watching anime in general.
It's not about the framerate, it's about the frames used. It's not animated at 8-12fps, it's animated on 3s and 2s and that's up to the discretion of the key animator for the cut. Often elements of a shot are animated on alternate frames too, it's not as simple as you make it out to be.
What HG are you going to buy?
I already pre-order'd G-Ion/Geaon/whatever and the Elf Bull, I'm unsure about Klim's Gehennam though, since I'm going to get the regular one too. And I'm a bit disappointed that there is going to be only one HG for January.
This is perfect!
