If X2 and X3 get normal releases (other than premium hobbyshop), then I wouldn't think an announcement would be made for at least 6 more months. X1 full cloth will almost certainly be a full release; X1 and 2 kai will probably be exclusives.

The EZ-8 team was one kit configured in different ways. The last rival character didn't even use a new suit.
For a show about 3 on 3, I thought we'd be getting a lot more imaginative customs a lot faster. In reality it seems slower.

Remember, they are also releaseing G-Reco kits at the same time as well as HGUC. They only have so much they can produce at once and expect people to have budget to buy. Cram too many releases into a month and you start cannibalizing sales from yourself as people now need to start budgeting and not getting certain models over others.

But it just makes it even more obvious than the whole three vs. three thing was a bad movie, a long with the various in show reasons that have become apparent so far.

It has been Bandai's policy to try to make at least 2 different kits from every HG mold that they produce (apart from a number of HGUC kits). That's why the GBF was attached to the All-Gundam project (or vice-versa). That also allows us to have a fairly good guess at which suits will have kits in the future.

This is the reason the HGAW Wing Zero mold is being reused for the HGBF Wing Zero Honoo and the HGUC Hi-Nu mold for the HGBF Hi-Nu Brave, even though it's very unlikely either will show up in the show.

As an aside, there are a fair number of kits that we will get (eventually) based on this. Airmaster Burst, some DX custom, and possibly ZZ versions of the Zssa. Of course, just yesterday we heard announcements for V Dash and V2AB, thereby confirming this trend.

Most of those HGUC are older ones that are difficult to reuse now. Most of the ones they've release in the last few years have gotten at least one reuse, if not more. Bandai has been trying to get the maximum bang for their buck.

Don't know about the V-dash, but you shouldn't be able to make a vanilla V2 from the AB, it's got a couple of different armor parts like skirts and I think shoulders that based on the runner layout I doubt the AB will bother including.

Yes, that's how exception clauses work. Of all the HG's released since, let's say, the end of 00, the only molds that do not have double kits are as follows (excluding exclusives, because that'd be a cheap way to make my point):
God, Gouf Custom, Jesta, Hambrabi, Messala, Gerbera Tetra, Zogok, Zssa, Schuzrum Gallus, Z II, Turn A, DX, Airmaster, Fenice Rinascita, Gouf R35, Build Burning, Lightning and some of the Vagan and Thunderbolt suits.

Every other mold has had at least 2 kits, and even some of the above list will almost certainly have future kits based on those molds (e.g. Gouf R35 has some plates labeled Gouf, not R35)

Try's problem isn't the team battle format itself, it's the team battle format coupled with the fact that in the grand scheme of things NOTHING is happening. It's just a tournament. That's it. There's no real threat to antagonize the heroes or drive them closer together. What Try needs is some form of urgency to make us give a shit about these new characters. Like how interesting would things be if the Gunpla mafia tried to get on their asses every episode because they believe with the Build Burning they can make even better Gunpla to whack people with?

Really what Try needs is a good, solid rival. not this Simon thing where he's introduced and knocked out of the tournament in the same episode, or the builder guy, but someone who they are actively striving to overcome and beat. The main characters lack a good consistent foil and are coming off flat for it.

The quality of fights really do make a difference when its 1v1.

Seeing Destiny and Burning duked it out similar to S1 fights were more enjoyable than shitty beam spams followed up quick finishing blows like any old gundam series.

I assumed all this time the hguc just taken "modern" proportions that were easily recognisable, the full cloth mg isn't a ver ka but took alot of the ver ka's aesthetics with only tiny changes here and there.
