>tfw even if Getters were real you'd never be able to pilot one without blowing up because you aren't super stronk
Has Saotome ever considered building one that isn't a safety hazard?
>if Getters were real you'd never be able to pilot one without blowing up because you aren't super stronk
It is canon in Getter that unless you are a complete psychopath (mentally) and able to punch a dudes skull open with your bare hands, piloting any Getter machine will kill you.
Skill? Fuck skill. Take a jet fighter pilot that has handled high Gs and dogfighting and throw him into a Getter machine, and he will come out the other side inexplicably dead.
You have to be the exact shade of edgy that the writers like, or the Getter will come up with a reason for you to die as punishment for using it.
No, your body has to be physically trained and you have to be mentally hardened to take on the pressure of one.
Holy shit you are beyond retarded if you think that you have to be a edgy psychopath just to pilot one, The only person who ever came close to punching someones skull open was Hayato when he was crushing someone's head.
Yes. But he couldn't do it for long periods of times without feelings the effects. Hayato also was unable to withstand the strain for long periods at first, too.
Piloting a Getter is as physically straining as flying the toughest real life jets/space rockets/etc. You don't have to be superhuman, just a tough bastard. However, mentally speaking, you have to be a daredevil to survive it.
/m/ piloting giant robots would be just like Gai: People would find us annoying for gushing so hard, we wouldn't even be that good, we would die fast and be completely forgotten by the next episode.
I mean, you'd still die horribly, but you'd have fun for the first five or so minutes before a fucking dinosaur smashes your cockpit
That's a dinosaur, they aren't people.
I object to the idea that only psychopaths can pilot Getters. Given enough time to train their bodies and minds, anyone can - look at Gai from Shin VS Neo Getter, the only thing it seems he can do is eat but he pilots arguably the strongest and hardest to use form of Neo Getter (Plasma whateverthefuckitscalled is either as strong or stronger than Plasma Thunder, just less focused, and the switch from tank mode to walker and handling the weaponry makes me think Neo 3 would be harder than 1's "point and shoot" by far.)
>Has Saotome ever considered building one that isn't a safety hazard?
He didn't build it, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
>Given enough time to train their bodies and minds, anyone can
I agree. In the manga series at least, there were a lot of Getter pilots. Getter Robo Go showed and mentioned pilots outside of the core team (mostly people who eventually died or quit). There were two extra teams of pilots and even more trainees in Shin Getter, and there were at least seven different Getter teams in Arc.
Y'know, technically it would be posssible for a fatty with severe back problems and what have you to pilot a getter that's already combined, but if you accidentally went forward to quickly or shouted "GITTA WINGU" for the fun of it you'd probably be dead in a split second.
>Implying Neo Getter isn't fucking rad
>would be able to be shaken all over the place as the machines move around a bunch because the cockpit's in the waist area.
No, you'd need to be able to handle G forces constantly and quickly changing to pilot any efficiently.
> It is canon in Getter that unless you are a complete psychopath (mentally) and able to punch a dudes skull open with your bare hands, piloting any Getter machine will kill you.
I'm not sure you've actually read any Getter because that's utter horseshit. When Saotome is sending out people to scout for pilots he's getting them to look for skilled athletes, not psychopaths. He also pilots one himself. Also, when people die they are noted to die because they weren't strong enough physically to handle it, not because they weren't insane enough.
Maybe we can pilot one of the mechs that are not crazy eldritch horrors, like based Stilva.
They both use plasma energy.
>because the cockpit's in the waist area.
Pretty sure for Shin Getter and Black Getter that isn't true. Still would be quite a bitch to get inside the damn thing in the first place, though.
I swear that thing would be one of my favorite designs in the franchise if it weren't for that fucking face.
>I swear that thing would be one of my favorite designs in the franchise if it weren't for that fucking face.
I like it, looks cool as fuck. Stilva and Giant Robo were the ones who warmed me to the idea of robots with faces, in fact.
Shin Getter has a cockpit in the waste area, if you're the Bear or Eagle pilot (or whatever equivalent). Jaguar doesn't worry though because Shin 3 is pretty much a bulky motherfucker and you won't be doing large amounts of vertical movements. Black's a no though.
>not liking robot uvula
I think Go could provide a reasonable challenge for G assuming the Shine Spark is locked. The 1 form is going to lose in all likelihood but I think it holds an advantage in both a 2 and 3 fight.
>tfw I'd never be able to pilot ANY giant robot because I'm fucking weaksauce
Wait, if Getter'ing is so dangerous how the fuck did Hayato carpool 5 people including 4 old farts in a Neo Getter plane in NG vs. SG?
>too fat, no muscle at all (Gonna try to work on that from here on out)
>Fear of heights
Same, feels bad man. Thanks for reading my blog post by the way.
>too dumb to design a robot
>too weak ans slow to pilot one
It was a Plasma Getter in the first place, and Get-machines tend to not be even remotely threats until you start looking at Emperor/Saint Dragon/Shin G levels (Shin G doesn't have Get Machines, mind, that's why it's on that list)
>hurrr it was the PLASMA
No it wasn't you tards. It was just inconsistent writing. Besides, normal people can ride in a Getter machine, it's just that they're going to pass out once they start doing high-G maneuvers or when the machine gets hit.
