The world just had a battle with aliens it came out on top off. After the war the side who had the technology that defeated the aliens has declared war on all nations states in an attempt to establish a Human Confederacy. Their ultimate goal is for humanity to be able to advance in the Stars, but believe it can't be done with a divided humanity. They are willing to use any means necessary to achieve their ends including genocide. The story follows a small group of partisans attached to what used to be a major military, before the alien invasion. They are constantly outgunned and on the move.

Focuses on a Yazuka family in a futuristic Japan in which different Yazuka families are pretty much the ruling body; having different people on all levels of government in their pockets.

The story focuses specifically on two Yakuza families; the wealthy daughter of a business-oriented family and the son of a military-affiliated family, and who is a mecha pilot. The two of them are betrothed to each other by both families in order to cement their alliance.

Much of this would be pretty straightforward SoL; in the sense of seeing the son balancing his days training, dueling rival family forces (in a sort of mecha-based equivalent of a localized turf war), and spending time with his fiancee. And the same for the daughter, who we'd follow as she balances managing the family's business interests, spending time with her fiance, and spending time with her friends.

The series would have them as college students and already a close couple. It's more of what they have to deal with together and individually that the story would focus on.

In my idea, I'd expect the male lead to have at least one, if not two close buddies, given the family element. One would definitely be a pilot wingman, the other probably an intel officer that violates some regulation by utilizing a bit of the military's resources in keeping track of his friend's fiancee (only when she leaves her Yazuka clan's primary sphere of influence, and on his friend when he and his fiancee are together) and keeping the male lead notified, since after all, there are other rival clans that might want to weaken the alliance.

Steel Dust:

In a solar system on the stages of recovering from a system war that was going to wipe humanity from all corners of the 8 worlds, The United Sol Alliance tasks bounty hunters to look and hunt down the remaining fractions who once nearly brought humanity to extinction.

Cue in our two heroes, one is a disgruntled Bounty Hunter who hunts many of the factions for both profit and to clear his own past as a commando who has taken down cities. The other, a newly activated ground mech suit with an AI that barely knows much of the universe except for what it's mission is, to follow and take orders whoever activates it.

The show would be sort of Buddy Cop antics that jump from world to world, capturing reminant groups on the furthest worlds and stations. The two having issues with one another, the Bounty Hunter thinking the mech is an annoyance and too bulky to have in missions and the mech hating its 'pilot' but cant leave sue to its hardwired programming. But eventually the two would end up trusting one another for the Bounty Hunter to pilot the mech and use its full capabilities.

There would be world building as well, looking into the recovering system, the empire that rises from the ashes and the remnants feelings on the matter.

My Daily Life is a Hazard to Survive!

Each day, a new threat to our protagonists' lives arrives. This would pretty much be something of a parody of the usual MotW formula, where instead of focusing on the giant robot or monster that's attacking the city, we focus on the civilians as they have to put up with this shit, and sometimes, it's the monster that ends up having to save the day. Hilarity and hijinks ensue.

For example; the first day, an unmanned military prototype meant to augment the exhausted defense force runs amok, tearing through businesses and homes and ends up targeting our hapless protagonists, mistaking some stuffed toy charm on her bag as an actual monster.

Or another day; a new pilot to the defense force tries too hard to prove himself in combat against a fresh monster; but ironically causes more damage to the surroundings than the monster ever did. Of course, said pilot ruins the business one of our protags was working at, and is finally stopped when the young monster ends up feeling our protagonist's frustration and stress and eventually manages to wreck the new pilot's machine, and disappear.

For years, he was laughed at, ridiculed, and shunned. His right-hand man took over his company and, in time, his wife. When they said that his grand idea would never work, he ignored them. When the shareholders withdrew further funding, he use his own wealth to complete it. Eventually, he and his project was forgotten.

It would be years later when it arose. The first fully operational mech utilizing highly experimental technology. It's AI was alive; it saw the suffering its master went through to complete it and it's machine body. Once its master finally connected it to the grid to leech off energy for its awakening, it did so without regard for the world that forsook its master. In the chaos, it arose from the forgotten warehouse, heading to its master. The first thing its master did was cry and yell for joy. His brainchild lived.

This sad story is about a forgotten military project doing all that it can to make its master happy, which meant taking out all those who had wronged him. It didn't recognize the madness in his master; the way he always called it a good boy as he cleaned up the armor and ensuring it was at 100% operational efficiency. It didn't recognize or understand that his master had broken in the end. All it understood was that its creator and master was happy with it always returning to him, and so it continued to carry out its targeted killings.

Not so much a story idea as it is a story element idea. Basically, I was thinking about taking some of the Japanese monster lore, but add mechs bestowed upon each tribe by some ancient demon king. Like a Yuki-onna tribe who are relatively pacifistic, but does sometimes get involved with rival tribes over land or resources.

I'm thinking something like Utawarerumono crossed with Vanguard Bandits, with a bit of Xenogears/Xenosaga tossed in.
