I love the Kampfer. It almost doesn't look like it belongs in the Gundam universe. Gundam started the "Real Robot" subgenre, but it has always had a hard time adhering to the guidelines it laid out.

I wouldn't say it looks out of place but the Kampfer is a damn fine machine. My opinion of it is slightly soiled by the contrivances it pulled to beat the K9 in its Amazing version, but I can't hold it against the design.

How Real Gundam's stuff looks depends on the series and the designer. In Seed, for instance, Okawara was instructed to have bright, colourful, toy-like design so that's the fault of the director.

The Hy-Gogg is one of the few non-bog-standard mecha designs in the Gundam franchise and it so happens to be one of the coolest designs, if not *the* coolest design in said franchise.

Back on topic, I like the Geara Zulu. I think the stalhelm really embodies the "space nazi" look that Zeon is based around. Also the ornate cuffs and darker tint look much nicer than the Zaku II's medium green. I love the Zaku, but IMO the Zulu is a great refinement
