I love the little OO's it leaves behind it when it hits high speed during one or two of the early season two episodes. Yes. The entire HG 00 line is excellent. Actually, the need to design a layout that would support the weight of the stupid backpack meant that the HG 00 had, and still has, the best designed ankle-joint system ever put into a HG. The overall engineering of the kit set the standard by which all modern HG's are compared to: >150-degree elbow and knee joints, double swivel ankles that offer great movement and are extremely stable, excellent (mostly) show-accurate proportion/design, and excellent color separation (about the only thing not molded in the correct colors are the yellow on the v-fins). While other kits had bits and pieces of these new engineering features (apart from the ankles), the HG 00 was the first kit to put it all together.

There's a reason it's one of this board and /toy/'s recommended first kits.

People seem to in the majority love Exia and its variants, dislike 00 Raiser for a number of reasons and tend to ignore 00 Gundam.

To this day I will never understand why Sunrise decided to go with the 00 Raiser concept instead of the Gundam Seven Swords.

They had this great idea that began with Exia, a fast, nimble and powerful melee specialized mobile suit that had solid blades and minimal armor, supported by a team of other specialized Gundams. Personally I think it's a great place to put them, because it gives the suit's primary thrusters a large range of movement and allows it a faster response time and tighter angles in said movements. Gives it thrust vectoring and the ability to quickly shift it's direction of travel through a large axis by shirting only a tiny portion of it's mass instead of the whole thing.

Remember the Ali vs Lyle fight at the end of 00 season 2? Ali had taken out one of the Cherudim's legs, and mauled one of its shoulders and arms but it was still unaffected performance wise.

Gen 4 Gundams have a lot less circurity and wiring running through them as a result of GN particles and the way the Condensors/Drives work. Unless they directly manage to sever the Drive from the arm or destroy it, it'll still keep powering the suit.

I guess I'm in the minority of the 00 raiser being my favorite ms from 00 season 1 and 2. I think a lot of it has to do with me being slightly OCD and gravitating towards symmetric designs. Also, thrusters on the shoulders and able to pivot really should be a more common feature in ms designed for use in space. We need more gp01-fb's.

00 S2 as a whole would have been a lot better if it used its MSV files...the Cherudim SAGA is AMAZING, the Arios Ascalon is cool in a strange way, Seravee 3G is the best 00MSV ever (and would have been even BETTER if combined with the GNHW/B), and the 007S is just...Goddamn.

I normally don't like BFS in Real Robot Animes ever since Gundam Seed proved them to be stupid and impractical, but the 007S's pulls double Duty as a Giant Shield, so it makes USE of that size in a practical way.

Also Setsuna is a melee type. It's just natural that the Seven Swords is a better choice for him.

OP here. I must admit, I personally didn't like the design of the 00 raiser at the time I made this thread. But between closely examining it and all the hate its receiving I am starting to become sexually attracted to it. This is coming from someone who liked the Exia more to begin with.

There were only a few cluttered 00 designs, 00 Gundam and a few in the movie. Comparing them to Bayformers is some of the weirdest shit I've ever read. Whenever I see people say they dislike them it's because they're too simple and boring. That's the first time I've seen anything other than a select few suits described as over-designed and cluttered. Bizarre.

'Obscuring' the Gundam could result in a much sleeker design.
See Virtue obscuring Nadlee. Virtue looks a hell of a lot sleaker and less blocky than most of the S2 designs, and that's coming from the fatty of the group.

Hope this thing is better in hand than the Archer.
I got the RD of the archer on sale for 500 yen at one point. And holy shit, it has to have the worst transformation ever...
It just hides under its kibble completely, and nothing locks into place at all. And unfortunately those huge boosters and cockpit hanging off the back remind me a lot of archer's.

Design-wise Harute's a hybrid of Kyrios, Arios and the Archer so it's to be expected.

Also the RD Arios and Archer are notoriously finicky. The HGs are much, much better.

Like archer, if you remove the backpack, you pretty much remove the entire vehicle portion. (But in unlike the Archer, the hand held weapons at least contribute to the vehicle as wings)
