This was mentioned in Astray as being a way to counter the Gundam being used as a pro-war symbol among the Earth Alliance. They did it on purpose. It's actually why the Windams look different than the Daggers.

Well in the case of the 3 stolen gundams from seed i would say that they all had their specialty one for ground combat[which would be the Gaia], The under water one and the one that fights in the sky. I do understand part of ur reasoning since kira did own all 3 at the same time, but the freedom is also nuclear powered and not cheap to mass produce i imagine.

You know when you think about it, this was practically impossible. They were aiming for Jaburo in South America and went off course. Now naturally going slightly off course in an orbital drop will make you veer thousands of miles from your target. Makes sense, that's how it works. But then they go and hit a city dead-on anyway? I'm pretty sure you have a better chance of being struck by lightning twice and winning the lottery in the same day.

OVA Episode 2 - Is it parodying Karakuri Kengouden or what? Edo period, "Karakuri", combining castles, eating machine (evil beast and Musashi)... Pretty common subjects in animes, but still.
Anime Episode 44 - Exploring Arnold's stomach and Ralphie's nose with Magic School Bus was more interesting than exploring Mr. Shinoda's stomach and lungs with Raijin Oh. Heck, I'd love to see Ms. Frizzle guiding this class.

Even then, the Turn X's manual implies that the connections to the various AU's is not concrete proof of them all being in the same universe. Different AU's could just be different versions of the same story, told by different forces. Not to mention how the information could be corrupted due to whatever factors as time passes.

I'd just like to interject for moment. What you're refering to as a Mech, is in fact, メカニカル, or as I've recently taken to calling it, Mecha. Mecha is not a genre unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning concept made manifest by the existence of vehicles, military equipment and of course, robots, comprising a full concept as defined by MAHQ.
Many posters use a modified definition of the メカニカル term every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of メカニカル which is widely used today is often called Mech, and many of its posters are not aware that it is basically the Robotech term, developed by Harmony Gold.
So unless discussing Robotech or Battletech please refer to giant robots as "Mecha" and always remember to lurk before postingI probably won't watch it, but the actual design of the mecha is pretty cool. I'd buy a kit of it. Best case scenario it gets kids into robots.
