I wish CCA ended with hundreds of Neo Zeon and EF personnel, both in suits and even a few ships, including Amuro (and Char by lack of choice) helped push Axis through conventional thrust at the sacrifice of their lives. I don't think the psycoframe element and newtype miracle magic really adds anything. I also wish that the Zeon pilots deciding to help was clarified.

I'm pretty sure Axis had already reached terminal velocity by then, and nothing save for Newtype Magic could save Earth by then, no matter how many mobile suits pushed it back.
I mean, Mirai could see Axis from Earth, there was no hope anymore.

Char being arrested shits over the entire yamato damashii DEATH before Dishonor. they'd have fucking disowned CCA for daring to imply Char and their glorious Japan analogous were wrong in a way that didn't give a "he died nobly and gloriously"

Think of it. An Elderly Char, having spent the rest of his life in prison. Shriveled, aged, and just another criminal. It'd make the Nationalists rip their eyes out.

In my opinion, the series does get weaker once Blake more or less becomes a guest character. Your mileage might vary on that one though, depending on how much you like the idea of Avon taking on the leadership role.

Still, it's a series that I think is very much worth the watch. That is, despite some of the questionable special effects.

Blake drops out of the picture? That's a pity, considering everything revolves around him. I like Avon, but right now I don't see him as a leader. We'll see.

Prepare for Kerr Avon awesomeness in Seasons 3 and 4! And question: who watches Blake's 7 for Roj Blake?

Things could just work multiple ways.

After Scarif, perhaps gates came to be seen as a security vulnerability.

Perhaps the massive size of the Scarif base justified a gate mechanism compared to the much smaller forest moon base.

Perhaps you don't put an expensive gate on a forest moon of no strategic significance besides being in the middle of nowhere.

Or maybe it's just an inconsistency. Does it really matter?

They never really show it in the anime. He does end up blowing away the Battle of Amritsar.

I always saw him as the krutch/rock that the empire needed. He was deeply grounded in reinhard and his own founding principles because of their childhood and the fact he would never be where he was if it hadnt been for reinhards unwavering ambition. So maybe not a superior tactician on his own. But why did Hitler lose the war? Because he was lost in war towards the end.

Some anon once claimed that Reinhard was only good for offensive battles but Kircheis was less good at offensive battles but made up for it by being better at defensive battles. I can't remember why.

I liked the beginning of it. The MC gets a lot of character development in the first half of episodes that most other MCs in anime get in 25- or 50ep runs. The mecha designs were also cool.

It's main downfall is that it falls victim to the same tired anime tropes and the plot takes a turn for the stupid in the latter half. The end result is a tepid 7/10.
