That's kind of a tough situation, it can be cool either way depending on the scenario. For example, in the Big O, Roger had been piloting his robot before the story starts, but can't remember where the Big O came from or why he can pilot it. And we never fucking find out either.

I'd say something that would be cool is the hero starting with a normal mecha and upgrading it into the signature one. But I've never actually seen any media do this, except maybe Build Fighters.

I love it. Feels more like a proper UC entry than any other oav they've shit out in the timeline. It's also nice that it has callbacks to all the shows, rather than just 0079.

Other than the animation and maybe like one track of the entire ost, it was a rather wasteful series that made up shitty drama for the sake of it. It was like bad fan fiction.

It attempts to be hard hitting but actually isn't, because the plot was retarded in the first place. The annoying characters didn't help.

Seems like they're cooling vents and not for thrusters. Not sure why the knees and skirt need cooling.

Not sure why the design needs massive weak spots in the armor.

I hate when vents are on the front or sides of the machine, they're huge weakpoints in the armor, Zeon could've destroyed the RX-78-2 by just machine gunning it's chest until shells wen't through the vents and fucked up everything behind them, and don't even get me started on the F91.

They should be on the top or rear of the torso like the vents on tanks, that'd use up the burning space next to the collar on most federation designs, and allow for a more sharply angled, badass looking chest.

On most designs they look kinda shit, especially the one OP posted, they stick out way too far from the rest of the machine and don't make sense, WHY DO THE FRONT SKIRTS NEED MASSIVE HEAT VENTS???

I like the color scheme of the new unit. I like the look of the vents on the chest and knees, but on the front skirt and arms seems a little excessive. I'm guessing this is a suit that can run EXAM non-stop or something to avoid getting hit, thus the large vents to cool the system. And you don't need armor if you can't get hit right?

The White Base gets destroyed on the way to Luna II and Zeon wins the war.

So Char already has a Gelgoog with a beam rifle and the Gundam is nothing special (only slightly better overall than Gelgoog).

There's a big chance that Amuro could get shot down in his first battle. As I recall, Char was surprised and annoyed that his Zaku's machine gun wasn't doing anything to the Gundam, so he was able to land shots on Amuro. Luna titanium can't block beams that well.

I just realized most MA pilots rarely survive their series, with some exceptions (Kou, Louise, Mick and Manny).
Still would be nice to see a dedicated MA pilot that have more screentime with their MA and still survive.
