i just downloaded the translation of pic related. should i read it before i play the original xenogears? or should i wait until after beating the game to read it? i have the game already, just wondering which order of things will help me understand everything best.
>>15807443
You'd have a better context if you read it afterwards
>>15807443
Read it after, it'll spoil shit for you
>>15807443
It's an entire fucking bible for the game. You need to play it to even begin digesting it in any meaningful way.
Oh my god this is amazing.

I have no idea what I just watched, but I want to listen to Orphans Namida again.
ok, after stalking a bit this thread on /co/

i was thinking here, who would be the The one above all of Gundam, Getter and etc and who would be its Multiversal Ultimates based on what they originated, and their untapped potential
as far as i remember Ideon, Getter Robo, TTGL, Tenchi and Gunbuster are already on that tier
>>15807036
Arguably it's Mazinger Zero at the top. Demonbane Vortex Blaster is stronger but Zero has the strength of every mecha inspired by Mazinger and every universe's version of that mecha, including Demonbane.
>>15807036
Ideon can be considered the 4th or sixth, as he was the catalyst that created Gundam multiverse itself, something that Turn-A implied it
also, Blue Man's Dick was involved on the crisis, as he was the giant hand who kickstarted the post Crisis and later Secret Wars
>Pic
i wouldn't find strange that SRW or Bandai if they want to do a new DW:Gundam, ends up visiting this type of mindfuckery.

Go back to your cuck shed and stay there, /co/mblr

For those new to gunpla/plamo or even just new to this thread; please read the guide. Please read it before asking questions, as there is a chance it has already been answered there.
For those unfamiliar, "plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model". If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here!
If you're new, you're gonna fuck up. Don't worry! If you're experienced, don't make the new people worry!
>Why won't anyone answer my question?
Try being specific, especially about your materials and process. Post pictures whenever possible; even if the kit/part looks bad, you are more likely to get help posting pictures.

== THICK MS GROUPBUILD ==
Build a kit of your choice that's heavily armored, and thick in the thighs/arms/torso/general area. Examples include:
>Dom + Dom Variants
>The O
>Virtue/Seravee Gundams
>Gusion/Man Rodis
>Full Armor gundams (If they're heavily armored, and not guns strapped everywhere like the FA Unicorn)
Non-Bandai kits are allowed, so feel free to whip out a Frame Arms kit or something and work with that as long as you make it thicc as fuck.
Start Date: 6/15
End Date: 8/31
SEND YOUR SHIT TO: [email protected]
it's ok to not panel line or clean nubs
OH SHIT GUYS, ONE WEEK LEFT FOR THE GROUPBUILDunless I decide to give an extension if there's enough demand for it
So far I've gotten like 12 entries in, but I know that there's plenty of you guys working on yours still. How's everyone's progress going?
>We still haven't seen the TV series yet
Movie confirmed.

Looking forward for the anime and now this film. Butfuck it, it is Biba-sama from Kabaneri. The second half of the series is doomed!

Japan and CG rarely work out well.

What do you mean? Did you forget how gorgeous the cg in the saint seiya movie looked? Or the karas?
Does anyone know which manga this is from?

What are some mechs which make use of ENERGY bits/option like weapons? Sounds like a generic mecha trope at first but in reality it's kinda underutilized.
>>15806691
Most obvious example that comes to mind is Legilis, of course.
>>15806700
Of course, there's Ghirarga too.
Jehuty also has three Wisps used as a ranged Grab but the weapon itself is not actually meant to hurt things.
IIRC the beginning 30 gundam had energy bits or something like that, if it counts
I have to admit, looking at all the recent shitty Hollywood rehashes lately (such as >>15805154), I've gained a lot more respect for the Bayformers as designs. While their aesthetic has become the norm for most mechanical designs in Hollywood nowadays, when they first came out, there was nothing quite like them. They moved away from the bland stereotypical heroic proportions usually associated with humanoid mecha and turned the designs into something truly alien. And unlike the older cartoons, these designs actually looked like alien robots that could morph their bodies into any mechanical object. Yes, most fans hated them, but remember that most of these fans are the ones that only accept something closely resembling what they saw in their childhood. For all of Bay's and the film's faults, the original designs was not one of them.
they look like shit
>>15806521
The designs are shit and make it literally impossible to comprehend what's going on in action sequences.
>>15806521
When the designs aren't caricatures of human stereotypes, they're fantastic.
>>15806540
Blame Bay for being a shitty action director. Try watching Pearl Harbor and making sense of anything during the bombing.
>We're living in the AD timeline
Awesome. I mean it's literally the only Gundam with an unequivocal good end. I'm down.
I thought we switched to calling it CE because atheists get triggered by mention of the LORD.
>>15806291
I still write AD for my classes and nobody stops me.
>>15806296
No, I'm pretty sure you would get arrested for that. It falls under the same laws that criminalize saying "Merry Christmas".
is this type of design too obsolete now to do outside of deliberate throwback stories?
>>15806157
Fucking hate it.
Angular What < Straight Plates
>>15806157
Skintight designs have always seemed to me like they were designed by someone who doesn't know how armour works.

Around 2 minutes in, Gou says that there's "nobody in the world who did not think in the way you did" or something along those lines. Should be "nobody in the world thought the way you did" or a similar wording.
>>15806272
Thanks, I'll fix it!
Huh, neat.
Thanks anon.
Anyone remember this series? It was also called voltron 2 in the states?
Despite not actually being released as a Voltron series, it still had toys from it released in the US. The rest of its long gone but I have one of the parts of the Abega still.
Also too bad subs never.
>>15806006
>It was also called voltron 2 in the states?
No it never came out in the states. It was going too but it never did. I can't say why. Also it was Voltron 3.
>>15806555
Um no, Go-Lion was Voltron 3, Dairugger XV was Voltron 1.
How do people feel about the remastered audio in the MSG movie trilogy?
I gather that a lot of people dislike it but I personally really appreciate it. It adds to the gritty "real robot" feel and it seems like what Tomino would have wanted to do at the time if convention and expectations hadn't prevented it. I do miss the iconic original beam rifle sound though.
The loss of the classic sound effects sucks. If the remastered audio had them, it would easily be the superior version. The music placement and the re-recorded dialogue are great improvements.
>>15805916
I think the new audio is fine. I quite like the added background sound effects ship interiors and mobile suit cockpits have. My one complaint is the slight rearrangement of music in the third movie when Char starts up his Gelgoog for the first time.
The theatrical audio had a music track had synced really well with the gelgoog's marching whereas in the remastered audio that music track is moved ahead to where Char notices the Gundam running through a minefield. To me, the end result just doesn't have as much impact for that particular sequence.
>>15805916
The movie trilogy took out too many of Amuro's neat tricks
