I liked this interview. It was interesting to hear that he really dislikes the idea of branching out from Earth. I was disappointed they didn't mention really anything he did other than Gundam, I was hoping to hear him talk about Zambot 3 or Xabungle
Hey dudes,
I've never heard of a female mecha designer. Are there any (in Japan or elsewhere)? Short of that, anyone able to point out any mecha designed by women?

obligatory
Fictionally, there's Marion Radom and Dr Wakeman off the top of my head.
>>15313339
Thores Shibamoto, kind of. Character designer for Trinity Blood and one of Nagano's proteges. Her stuff isn't technically mecha design since most of it falls under that weird category of Amano-inspired spiky goth people. But her art style is very mechanical, much like how Nihei used to draw his characters and settings. .

Might be cool.

Any idea how toaster it can run?

GBF's storyboarders had a lot of fun on twitter when it was airing.
Was Sumeragi the last sexy captain in Gundam?

There was Capt' Anus.
Look at this unicorn. it's so cute.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Hey /m/ should I pick this up? Is there anything wrong with the vluray release?
I saw an awesome jap song show up on youtube and one of these niggas had a mech with a cloak.
Looked like some fun 90s 80s shit.
It's an upscale because somehow the materials for one of the most iconic mecha OVAs of the 90s are missing. Or they're just lazy.
Otherwise, go for it.
>>15312428
I can't attest to the quality of the Blu-ray, I think it's just an upscale and not a remaster but I might be wrong. I can however tell you that Armageddon is one of my favourite OVAs out there and an excellent starting point if you want to get into Getter Robo.
The one in the cloak you are referring to is the Black Getter, one of the coolest mecha out there.
>>15312428
Getter is from the 70s.
This OVA is from 1998. It's an alternate continuity thing although it does require you to be familiar with Getter if you want to enjoy it to the fullest extent.
Which in this case, I recommend the manga alongside.
>>15312439
>>15312443
Upscale or not, they're still cleaner than the DVDs, so you can't go wrong either way.
Shin Getter Robo vs Neo Getter Robo was a proper transfer though. I think they might have lost the Armageddon masters, which is why we'll never see it in its full cellular glory.
/m/, How old are the characters from Gundam Thunderbolt?
>>15312411
Early 20s?
They are not teenagers that's for sure
>>15312411
Decently young.

pretty minor complaints, 0080's music is pretty godawful, especially compared to 0083 a couple years later.

While not entirely understanding the appeal Ality decided to give it a try.

she should have been more specific in how she wanted him to take responsibility for the baby
This show was so bad it made me reconsider my opinion of ZZ. What were they trying to pull with that ridiculous political intrigue and those one-dimensional bishonen characters? And to top it all off, it was BORING.
>>15311978
And why does a side story get the best MS designs?

>Blah Blah Blah Wing Sucks Bawwwww etc etc
Either people still believe this meme or OP is just a butthurt ZZ faggot.

You need to remove the nostalgia goggles. It's subpar in every aspect, and offensively so.

ITS LOUD ROAR TELLS ME TO GRASP VICTORY
Alright guys, I'm gonna start working on a term paper for an English class soon and was wondering if there are any interesting /m/ books I should use.
Since stuff lke this is generally scarce they don't have to be explicitly /m/.
Classic sci-fi stuff like 2001 would be interesting to look at as well.
It would also be great if they were well known too, since I'll need to grab some quotes from book reviews.
>>15311913
Well, there's your classics like "Starship Trooper" and "Armor" and "Forever Peace"
If you want just straight /m/ in a book though, check out "Robot Jox" by Robert Thurston
Anything written by Asimov, specially I Robot, Caves of Steel and Foundation.
I came for the sentient tank but stayed for the feels.
There's this anime i saw in one of the latter years of the nineties. I have been searching on the internet what it could have been, but i have little concrete stuff to go on.
It centered on a bunch of teens who where marooned near a coastline with their spaceship.
They or the hero at least piloted a humanoid mech.
I think they where charged with guarding or escorting a princess or suchlike, there was some special girl aboard in any case and she was the only civilian i think.
They where being engaged on a regular basis by another teen boy piloting a humanoid mecha but that got destroyed in battle with the hero. From then on the antagonist piloted a lion or wolf mecha which had the moon as a theme.
The show ended with the kids realizing there was some connection between the two mecha that somehow was instrumental in them being able to leave that place... i think.
Help?
