What is it about mecha anime that people find unappealing? When I talk to other anime fans it seems mecha is the one genre they can't get into.
>>15356507
Wrong idea of what the genre is.
You know, when someone comes up to you and paints the picture of all of mecha to be badly animated, painfully episodic, and plotless toy commercials from the 1960s and 70s, it really doesn't surprise me they're not all that much into the idea.
Meanwhile, natural inraction with mecha through Code Geass, FMP!, Escaflowne, occassional Gundam show, Eureka Seven,... usually ends up well.

I was able to get one friend at least casually into mecha through Valvrave and it definitely got him open-minded. After that he was willing to trudge through Buddy Complex with me and got some kind of strange enjoyment out of Cross Ange. Code Geass worked obviously, another friend of mine enjoyed that but he's still stubbornly anti-mecha. Haven't found one person who didn't enjoy Gunpla Builders.
>>15356507
I knew someone who didn't want to watch mecha shows because he "couldn't take them seriously after watching Evangelion".
Is it possible to make cyber newtypes and still be the good guys?
Four > Rosamia, Chara, Stella
>>15356479
Yes, if they volunteer for it and we are doing this for a good reason.
If you could have a new VOTOMS anime, how long and about what would you want it to be?
I love the original show, pailsen files and shinning heresy were good; but Chirico's story feels a bit run to the ground after phantom arc.
I'd want Takahashi to give a fuck about other things he has made and not keep expanding the bottoms autism
>>15356431
Like a new Gasaraki ova?
VOTOMS is over and dead. Give it up already.
Hello /m/ and /vr/ aficionados.
Is the last Weekend of the Tag Team Cup III.
We currently top the group at six points and will be playing /uv/ shortly at the usual place.

That was a pretty awful performance.
>>15356485
Sadly it was.
Why is the Gundam series with the most functional political system the DBZ street fighter spinoff?
>>15355654
It isn't. It has the simplest one and by extension the easiest to understand, but giving the winner of a boxing match uncontested rule for X length of time is in no way functional. It'd break within 5 minutes if anyone tried to enact it because defeated states wouldn't stand for dictation by force of arms.
>>15355664
Wrong
>>15355654
Functional governments wouldn't need giant fighting robots.
.
>>15355602
>head and left arm first, because final shooting
Heh.
>>15355602
rest in piece
Can't wait for the Jappos committing mass sudoku when they fail to make this piece of shit "walk" before the Olympics.
Why does Bamco hate G Reco so much?
>>15355393
Because it's gunpla sales weren't that good, which is about the only factor that determines their view on any show.
>>15355396
bandai sounds pretty evil lately
how do we stop them
>>15355404
What's evil about basic economics? They make more of the stuff that sells and less of the stuff that doesn't. It might be sad if something you like isn't popular, but it'd be silly to expect them to make something that'll cost more to make than it probably recoups.
>DUDE IT'LL WORK THIS TIME LMAO
>>15355305
>BELIEVE IT!
>>15355305
> It might only work for a short time, and there's a high probability we'll die when it stops working but while it is working we'll live like kings so fuck it, let's go
>Uncle Go will pass away in your lifetime
Hold me, /m/
Also will: Tomino, Yasuhiko, Aniki, Matsumoto, Takahashi, Okawara, Kageyama, Wakamoto.
Probably will: Kawamori, Anno, Endoh, Midorikawa.
Better committing sudoku right now, anon.
> got married to a 23 years old qt
>she's a mecha fan and gunpla modeler
>mfw they will singlehandedly produce next generation of mecha directors and artists
Is there any creator as lucky as Obari?

Is this design the Turn A of our generation?
>>15354778
Nah, it's the Wing Zero Custom. It doesn't put a slight twist on the design formula that people love or hate, it adds something distinct to it that people love or hate.
>>15354793
The proportions are pretty outside Gundam's usual stuff even discounting the hoverboard gimmick. It seems deliberately designed to subvert the tendency towards square shapes and straight lines used in most UC Gundams. I'm not surprised it gets a lot of hate from people who like those and care about visual continuity in the setting.
Personally, I really dig the design. I don't usually like Gundam designs in general though and that's probably a contributing factor. I'm glad to see them trying new things.

Episode 18: "Traps and More Traps! Da Cider's Counterattack". One more and we're halfway there. Enjoy the subs. And yes, I could use some TLC assistance.

I think I lasted four episodes into the second Knight Lamune series. Never watched the first series. Sell me on it.
Thanks
Wish someone properly takes on finishing Lamune

Good. The only actually good thing about Crossbone is the Crossbone Gundams themselves. It isn't even actually about space pirates.
how did the crossbone vanguard go from like, more genocidal then zeon, to the saviors of the earth sphere
>>15354506
A complete change in basically everything bar name. Personnel, goals, equipment, the works. I don't know why they decided to use the Crossbone Vanguard name and can't recall if it's ever explained, but the name is about the only thing the two share.
With the return of Samurai Jack, could pic related make a glorious return?
>>15354342
no
90s comedic slacker male buddies are dead and buried, they were a byproduct of crossover thrash and grunge
>>15354342
Only if they keep the comedy tone.
>>15354342
Isn't this one of the shows they sold to the government?
So not unless Trump digs giant robots.
