Depends on the macross. The original SDF Macross, yes. Frontier is also good, but I'd say that Gundam beats it as an entry franchise, as frontier is better with prior Macross knowledge. The rest either require previous Macross knowledge, or just aren't good

I would switch the 00 seasons. In S2 they were fighting a clearly-defined military junta, which was so brutal half of its army defected. That should definitely fall more under "dictatorship."

S1 was more general Anti-government shit; all they really wanted was an end to the military-industrial complex.
