Okay so generally speaking unless you get all weird there's really no harm in still liking or watching the shit you liked growing up or is generally under your intended age group. You just admit it is what it is and accept it at that.

Sometimes however someone gets it in their head that they have to prove that their show isn't kiddy or immature so they update it and change it and completely fuck with the tone just to show the world otherwise but then they miss the point and shit goes to hell. You end up with a grim derp try hard product that only kind of looks like the thing you liked in the first place and what you liked has become so distorted by what you want people to see that it just stopped being what it was

I think the "Lost Galaxy" was originally meant to be the one with the Quasar Sabers, but they eventually came up with the Lost Galaxy plot and used the name for that.

I actually really liked the mutiny episodes. They were bizarre, but it felt like there was a strong sense of threat. The weakest part of the show to me was the Lights of Orion Quest.

Although Mutiny used Sentai footage more obviously due to the villain hq, those episodes were straight up Sentai translations that often made very little sense in LG's context (like the Lights just happening to be on the colony for no reason) and the actual episodic situations just seemed weak and disconnected from both the setting and the characters.

Assuming unlimited funds/as advanced of technology as we want, a cockpit with a neural interface connected to a giant blob of nanomachines. Need a plane? You got one. Need wheels? You got them. Fighting godzilla? Mech. Etc. The catch is that it would need a source of ammo, or at least a source of material if the nanomachines are self-replicating
Or in a pinch, just make a harpoon gun.

The joke was that she basically was Mars' Ann Coulter. People of her economic class liked her because she was pretty and she would not quit repeating the stuff they were eager to hear.

I would've ended the series with the Dainseif barrage. Like, Mika and Guts kicking immense amounts of ass, their enemies falling back, then the hail of orbital rods kills them. They're doing fine up to the point they fall prey to that last dirty trick, then we go to the aftermath.

More deaths. Tekkadan has a bloated cast, and none of the characters are really needed. Zack should've been shot as he and the others tried to flee the base. Eugene could be killed too, with very little change. Basically, all members participating in the final battle should've died. (The casualties are just Nameless Kid, Hush, Mika and Akihiko, which is disappointing.)

Also, I'd have let Iok live, because I feel that Iok's death was unearned - it felt too much like wish fulfillment, because there was no real reason for him to be there.

I'd also have had McGillis be the one to betray Orga to Nobilis, to try and get Tekkadan to fight alongside him in the final battle.

I would probably have inserted more Gundams for merchandising. Personally, I'd have given Iok a Gundam, and have Juliett either pilot Rustal's Gundam or a hastily-restored Bael for the final battle.
