It could work, especially given that Shin was supposed to be a 3-movie long story. They could easily put that into a 13 episode season.

they have good enough grace to allow Shin in crossovers I think there is still some bad taste left in their mouths from way back when Shin came out. They might do something but it probably won't be for a long time.

**MELEE GROUP BUILD**

Build/paint a robot with a loadout focused on melee combat! Anything from shields to swords to lances to axes to bare fists is fair game. There's no room for ranged weaponry here, however, so anything resembling a rifle, Rocket Launcher, cannon, pistol, or any other ranged weapon is a no-go (Small ranged weapons that are built into the kit itself like head vulcans are ok, however).

More clarification here:
>If the body part has a built-in ranged weapon (head/chest vulcans, claw beams, etc), then that's fine. If it's a separate part like the Alex's arm vulcans it's best to leave those off.
>Melee weapons with in-universe ranged capabilities (Like the Kimaris's lance or the Gyan's shield) are fair game too.
>Any scale and any brand is fair game here, you're not limited to just using Gundams this time around.

It's kind of cool, I guess. It's probably the anime industry's best attempt at trying to emulate what goes on in real motorsports into a show.

One of the issues I have the show is that they never really explain why the cyber system is important and makes the whole thing seem like some glorified infotainment system. Also in the later shows, the series becomes a dedicated to road course race tracks instead of the all-terrain rally type races they do in the beginning.

I don't think there is much of a point to the system except for just replacing the copilot with a lighter computer that gives way too long answers to stuff.

The only real gripe I have is that I know that they'll replace the touring car/rally Asurada with the more F1 looking one. Then again that seems to get rid of a few of the more silly designs for the other racers as well so there's that.

I like that there seems to be some sort of age progression later on.

The real question is if Hayato and Kaga switched cars, would Hayato do as well as Kaga did in the Ogre? Would Kaga still win in the Asurada?

I'm still not sure why people get bent out of shape about noticing that CG is obvious personally. Especially on a board that's comfortable with recommending plenty of old shows with questionable animation or practical effects. It's not like you watch a lot of the practical effects and go "wow, I can't believe there are actually bug men to fill those parts". Just because something is obviously not real doesn't make it bad.

Obvious CG is ugly because it's too uniform in scenes where you'd lose some detail normally such as when a character turns its head. The models are usually too lacking in detail to make things like that look good.
