Oh no, I made the bad thread.

The funny thing is, we just had a better story about robots and humanity, and it actually is a game and not a David Cage piece of crap
I am so fucking sick of robots as an allegory for slavery and oppression.

>make game about robocop lady

Zeta sure hits you hard right in the gut in the end. It dragged on a bit in the middle but personally I'm glad I had all 50 episodes to get really attached to the characters.
What is the /m/ show with the most artistic merit?
Patlabor movies. FLAG. Eva. Turn A. The Big O. Dragon's Heaven. Five Star Stories.
Strike Witches
Anyone know any good Mecha games that might be found on steam? So far, I got Brigador in the cart. And I already own most of the games from Astro Port. But I feel like I might've missed some titles in the sea of shovelware and other unrelated stuff.
>>15633435
Deus Ex series
Nier Automata
Gigantic Army
Metal Gear Rising
>>15633465
I already got those. How good is Strike Suit Zero?
>>15633505
I have it on GOG. It's pretty fun, if a bit repetitive gameplay-wise. Last level is rage inducing.
Probably the closest we'll get to a Macross game for PC. Worth a look if it's cheap.
Why isn't there any 4chan themed mecha fan art anymore? Like sagegaigar.
Making that kind of stuff isn't considered cool any more.
>>15633198
We grew up, got old and lost the spark of wide eyed idealism and unbridled passion.
Also do you really want a mech made of Pepefrogs and feels bro?
So what does /m/ think of Laserdisc? Is there enough to talk about here to get a discussion going? I just bought a few on eBay & I'm trying to decide what player to get right now.
>>15632793
I like VHS more
Do people watch old anime on CRTs like people do with old video games?
>>15632804
I know I do. Interlaced videos look like shit on modern displays.
This is thread for Macross II, the last good and last true Macross.
Armored Core thread
Has anyone here tried armored core before? From Software has already announced a new Armored Core game in dev. what do you think would be the elements incorporated in the game from previous series?
Nineball wrecking your shit continuously
quick turning hopefully

QUICKBOOST is the best thing ever happened.
also lets just admit bunny hopping is useless and stupid.
Can one of you help me out? I want to get into this series but I have no idea where to start. Do I start at Galaxy Express 999 or Queen Millennia? Also, if any of you have seen it, would you say it's aged well? I'm willing to overlook the sameface and all that in light of cool 80s-90s anime shit, but are there any huge problems?
>>15630921
Queen Millennia has nothing in particular to do with the 999 tv or movies
999 tv is a long "planet of the week" show in a vein similar to the original Star Trek series
999 movies are movies inspired by the tv series
both are good in their own ways
>>15631048
Are they all the same universe?
>>15631061
not particularly
This was incredibly dull. The animation was 10/10, but the plot and pacing were pretty bad.
It's like someone made a fanfiction about edgy char.
Teenagers ruin everything as always.
>>15630260
I like how Char spouted how humanity would achieve understanding once everyone became a Newtype but he and Amuro died going at each other's throats never even coming close to truly understanding each other
>>15630285
Everybody knew he was full of shit and did that for petty revenge.
Why Tomino decided to shit on him so much?
He could be such a great character.
As the rival, he had to follow Char. He had none of Char's charm, none of the combat prowess (supposed or real), and his motives weren't very powerful like getting revenge on the family that killed your's.
He was a great character because in the end he was really just a jackass idiot who Kamille left in his dust, not in spite of it.

Mourar was best girl.
A Japanese high schooler one day finds himself summoned to a fantasy world where he finds he has latent super magic abilities that make him stronger than the people of that land, and he is chosen to become the master of a legendary magic weapon and fight the evil dark gods of prophecy, also every single girl he meets lusts for his dick and he ends up with a harem
I liked monster rancher too anon but it isn't really /m/
>>15629404
>legendary
It's a new cutting-edge prototype fresh out of development, not some kind of ancient legendary thing. That said, you're more or less right about the rest.I still love it though, even if I'm usually not fond of isekai.

This.
Also all the sound effects in Front Mission 3 and everything in the first 20 seconds of Gundam Wing's 2nd OP.
What if this would have caught on in America?
We'd have gotten seasonal sequels like Power Rangers and a Hollywood reboot would be coming out next summer.
>>15628186
Then they'd be screwed because they didn't think ahead and used a franchise that at the time was dead and looked outdated compared to Sentai.
>>15628186
Wouldn't have mattered in the slightest since the next TV series didn't come out until 2000.
I mean, I guess they could have adapted J and ZO into TV movies/mini serieses. I mean I guess they could have adapted Black but I don't think that would have gelled well with American kids used to the flashiness of MMPR.
What are your expectations for the sequel?
