Picked a show yet? Cool.You've been selected to direct a "Game of Thrones"-style live action adaptation of that anime. How does it go? Who do you cast? What do you change?
By Game of Thrones I mean to suggest a large budget, a darker and more somber tone, and lots of gratuitous sex, nudity, and violence that may or may not have occurred in the original.
As it is an GoT-style adaptation, you're allowed to write your own interpretations of how events and characters; even cutting some things out entirely or changing appearances. Over-arching plots and their conclusions should remain somewhat the same though.
Take for example the scene from Gundam 00 where the Meisters meet Team Trinity:
>Instead of Nena simply forcing a kiss on Setsuna, she asks him to personally give her a tour of the Ptolemy; whereupon she attempts to rape him at gunpoint once they're far from the others.
>The ordeal causes Setsuna to flashback and react violently, nearly killing her.
The result is an incredibly edgy scene that panders to modern sensibilities, yet maintains the same end result of having Setsuna demonstrate his deep-rooted aversion to being touched, as well as his newfound disgust and distrust for Nena. (also that Nena does what she wants.)

If it was remade as an OVA series with Unicorn style budget, where they took the time to develop the characters then sure.
I'd just be happy if we had more Amuro, Beltorchika, the Nu Gundamand keep the Sazabi, the Nightingale looks too much like a crab. Char's character development can be handled in the same way whichever book has Amuro calling Char out for being a massive dick (which he kind of does in the movie but it's more of a throwaway line there).
In an ideally ideal world we'd follow the route that leads us straight to Hathaway's Flash

It was a pretty great show, it's definitely worth watching. It got a pretty low viewership due to the fact that it wasn't simulcast and you had to wait for home-grown /m/-brand fansubs each week, so now's a pretty good time to watch it.

I don't care anymore. Does anyone care anymore? The last OVA was awful and honestly having re-watched it even the 2nd one wasn't very good either.
The writer of these things is all to happy to keep the characters in a stagnant go nowhere snoozefest as he does nothing but wank all over his universe. Nothing goddamn happens and the only thing we get is more forced exposition and family tree branches.
First OVA is great, but you're better off just watching Universe or reading the manga. For any faults they may have SHIT FUCKING HAPPENS.
