Fuck you and fuck RPG's, AC was a real skill game that you could finesse your way out of any bullshit.
A shooter with sustained three dimensional movement, but not fucking crazy like some stupid gundam anime shit with no respect to inertia, nor is it frustratingly sluggish like mechwarrior or hawken or whatever sad remnant of mecha games exist in current year, PVP where there was as much competition in the hangar bay as there was in the arena, where customization wasn't limited to some gayass skill tree bullshit--improvements in one area *always* meant compromise in other areas, this was a game of multiple simultaneous skills, of movement, of aiming, of resource management, terrain, enemy loadouts versus your own...

Okay so here I am, playing Shin Gihren's Greed, and being absolutely trashed.
On Hard I never managed to take Odessa as Zeon, and was deadlocked in a stalemate for Solomon [They literally can't defeat a base of entire aces] and eventually managed to get the Gyan MP up and working. However it was a deadlock through and through.
Now here I am on Normal, stuck at Odessa. I tried to take New Yark a millisecond after taking Odessa with minimal forces by dropping 4-5 HLVs into America, and having the Tristars join up with them via Dodai with Fat Uncle reinforcements following close behind. They however kicked me out.
Currently I've just finished the Rick DOM's MP project, and have set Ral, The Tri Stars, Hamon and Char to New Yark on their own to try and take it. The Feds JUST rolled out the GM.
This is... abhorrant though because Depp Rogs just keep fucking my mouth, I don't understand. The team of the Tristar Doms, RR Dom, Char's Z'gok, and M'quve's Gouf [Hamon] can't drop a single squad of Depp Rogs when scanned/etc.
Why is this game so fucking impossible?
Kyoi no Axis V is easy to the point where I've steamrolled every campagin I have participated in.

Shin Gihren's Greed gameplay change to the original Sega Saturn style slows down invasions to a crawl, much more so in Zeons case than the Federations. With this said, a lot of other elements cause higher difficulties for this game to be nearly impossible without abusing the "if" system.

Why would they think of actively taking away one of the coolest features of Gihrens Greed, the idea of being able to produce whatever you like to whatever capacity you would like? Even in the PS2 version, Gihrens Ambition, they let you make as much of any unit as you liked, even if your advisors would whine about it.

Completely ruins the purpose of a well planned sneak attack, along with making hit-and-run operations nearly pointless now.

Shin Gihren was not made for the Blood of Zeon event chart, however the Chars Counter Attack scenarios are the best way to experience them after the lackluster version we got from Axis V.

Pretty sensible. Submarines are designed to keep pressure out rather than in, so you'd need to design the interior of a spaceship differently than a submarine, but a pressure hull is going to be rounded either way. And a long and thin ship is ideal for minimizing the profile you expose to your enemy. So yeah, submarine-shaped spacecraft make perfect sense to me.

I really wish there were more mecha games that took Gun Hazard's approach to narrative. Like it was sort of intrusive, but it added meaning and context to what you were doing. Literally had me glued to the screen to see what happens next and I didn't even care about the grind for levels and equipment.
