>>7693400 1. (pic related) A fuckin' monstrosity- probably the best account of Bosnia and it's folk: myself being a Bosnian Serb. If you've heard about the war in Bosnia in the '90s, this book might give you some insight as it was mandatory reading for NATO generals that participated in the conflict. 2. Death and the Dervish- by Mesa Selimovic 3. Gorski Vijenac/The Mountain Wreath- by Petar Petrovic Njegos
>>7693464 I expected this. Yes, he himself insisted on it. He was a Yugoslav diplomat, but he said in numerous occasions that he considers himself a Serb. (pic related) It's his ID and it's in cyrillic (Croats only write in Latin, as opposed to Serbs that use both scripts). The ID contains the usual info, but the most important one is the nationality section- it says serbian.
>>7693476 He was born to Croatian parents then when he couldn't break through decided to be a serb and then near the end of his life decided to be a Croat. But most of his famous works can be said to be written in Serbian. He is really the only 'yugoslav' author.
Also Ekipa Interlieber /lit/ autizm meetup kad?
>>7695953 Other Serb nationalists in Kosovo seemed to have fired up his nationalism (through lies about what was being done to them by the Albanians). Honestly out of the politicians in ex-Yu, Milosevic is really embarrassing, he comes of as an uneducated thug stuck on repeat.
God I wish you people would fuck off with this ethnic shit. It's like talking about being an ethnic north versus south dakotan. If you belong to a certain culture, so be it, but there's no need to try to attach it to some bloodline horseshit.
>>7695971 Can you give me any sources for the part about Serbs lying? From what I understand, being a Serb in Kosovo was always quite dangerous. I do know that tensions really flaired up when Milosevic passed that legislation in the early 90s, that put a lot of Albanians out of jobs. I assumed that was one of the major catalysts for an organised, united push for autonomy.
>>7695920 British friends? Whose friends? The British bombed Yugoslavia (Serbia) in '99, I'm hoping you're not that deluded... They're Serbian no.2 or no.3 enemy... The other's being the US at no.1 and Germany as the other contender for second place.
>>7697761 What started out as "Fuck you (Ottoman) oppressor!" became a general distrust of anyone not within the clan. Other nations in Europe were free to move towards unity over those 400 years they were not occupied, where the Balkan nations either abandoned their heritage and became Muslim or resisted and stayed in splintered cells of tribalism and general distrust. That's why Tito's call to brotherhood was so great, it was attempting to undo all these years in one emergency package. The idiots like Milosovic who really was just a figure head of deeper village idiocy.
>>7696429 Everyone was Sebian enemy because you went mental as a nation and were overtaken by "Greater Serbia" mentality. It says something about you when your 2nd closest traditional ALLY (by power, after Russia) has enough of your shit.
Your kings always escape to the UK when going gets tough. House of Karadojorevic etc.
>>7699861 Not at all, the nationalists clearly do, and to them it's pointed out what they're doing. With other Serbs, and there's a few here, we can talk about unity and our common, shared ground. It's not that difficult to understand, if I'm against the Nazis doesn't mean I'm against the Germans. Basics.
>>7700458 That's exactly what I was saying. The nationalist Serbs, who were in power and set the course of the whole nation, thought that everyone was their enemy and after them - and by that made a kind of a self fulfilling prophecy.
>>7699562 true, but I do it out of sexual frustration and social anxiety, Slav here does it because he's overwhelmed by his own speculation into the imaginary properties of superficial expressions of femininity in the Lacanian sense.
>>7700408 Not really, Croatians write about how they were oppressed by Serbians, Serbians about how Croatians didn't leave them without any choice, Bosnians about staying alive through the genocide, and Americans about how they saved Bosnians from that genocide .
I would definitely reccommend Crnjanski but I have no idea how well he's translated into English. His biographical prose is on par with, say, Hemingway's A Moveable Feast, especially Embahade (a memoir about diplomatic service in thirties's Berlin).
>>7701335 >Marasa I njega sam malo pogledao. Bacio pogled u Macbetha.
