I'm not gonna go take them off the shelves, but here are what I own that's tagged poetry. The Norton/Longman/Heath anthologies probably wouldn't count for this, though they do have poems in there.

To the right of the Dover Haiku book are Elizabeth Barrett Browning and Lewis Carroll. Below it is Emily Dickinson.

Mega KEK!

So you've read haiku's & anthologies... Haikus are literally the shortest poems possible. I didn't realise I was up against such tough competition. Also I'm excluding narrative epics I'm afraid, no Homer/Kalevala/L'Mort d'arthur. That doesn't leave you with much.

C'mon anon, what else can you hit me with? At the moment you read Haikus & anthologies. Prove to me you're not a katana wielding weebo.
>>
>>7670450
why don't you talk about the poetry you've read instead of making this a dick measuring contest.
>>
>>7670450
>reading is a competition
>>
>>7670464
This anon didn't SWTG. 'Only the contest made me'. There is no creation without competition. G'luck at the next Dionysian festival you beta fuck.
>>
i read dante, goethe, homer, tuwim, and its probably all. I jjust like epic poems desu
>>
>>7670519
That's ok anon. Lets think of this as a safe place, it's okay to talk here. I've read those things too, yes they're are good.

I suspected that /lit doesn't actually read any poetry & the Plath meming was just from high school exposure.

I didn't think we were competing, only sharing. I know my poetry collection is small and specialized.

Well the noh plays of Zeami are some of my favourite writing, so I'd certainly recommend those, although they will make you weep at how truly infantile & irrelevant Nippon has become. Thanks for derailing the thread anyway you fucking weebo.

I only posted my collection and replied to you, anon. I didn't think that would derail things.

I love Zeami as well, but I keep him in theater.

This obviously isn't all poetry, but this is most of my collection (more at my dad's house)
>>

Nice. I've been saving Yeats for a while now, he seems really good. What's Burns like when not haggising?
>>
>>7670767
>>
>>7670450
>oh so you read Theogony?
>HA! WELL I READ THE CANTERBURY TALES, WHICH ARE LONGER!
>>
>>7670914
Burns is beautiful, "man was made to mourn" made me weep. His poetry is musical, especially if read in a Scottish accent.

And Yeats deserves endless adoration, obviously.

I've read both mutherfucker. Step your game up.
