What is the best font for writing and why is it Times New Roman?
>>7647918
OP you must accept that such things are ineffable.
>>7647918
stfu, yes it does

AHAHAHAHA tru dat

weahhhh weahhh me me me me me
so fucking true
somebody fall in love with me
fuck off bitch
TNR is for shitty bulk publications like newspapers and academic journals. It's a trite and ugly typeface.

>"Yeah, this is a quality post"
>>7648039
nobody loves you bitch fuck off you're a 4
>>7647918
times is designed to save ink so they tend to be more serif dominant and legible so it's a matter of economy
>>7648041
wew
>>7648050
neat factoid. thanks for sharing.
>>7648050
Georgia is even more efficient and also prettier though
Georgia is the best
>>7650047
georgia can only be a close second to times.
it's a toss up between times and helvetica- it really depends on what you're writing. helvetica has the highest legibility of any font
Calibri
>>7651578
Again totally wrong. Helvetica is actually not that legible - there are numerous humanist typefaces that are specifically designed for legibility, like verdana. The stylized helvetica may be better looking though
My fav is Ariel
helvetica 2bh

URW gothic L

You do know publishers will not read anything that is not Times New Roman, right?
>>7652625
>publishers
uhm, who cares?
Helvetica is a meme font
>>7652625
the question was about writing not submitting. you're a faggot.
>>7652625
anybody can get anything published it's a matter of resources
the way you wrote that to me sounds like you're a 4 with a fanclub and a drug or drinking problem. just from the way you wrote that
>>7652625
>You do know publishers will not read anything that is not Times New Roman, right?
>right click
>click "Select All"
>change font
>>7652625
the fact that you are sad, doesn't make you creative
>Not doing all of your work in Old-Style serif, particularly built upon the genius of the holy 'G' trinity of Garamont, Granjon, and Goudy.
Christ. It's like you guys want to be pleb forever.
>>7647918
it literally depends
>>7647918
>what is Georgia
Georgia with TNR numbers is god-tier
Courier.
>>7651578
Helvetica is very legible... but that works for short inscriptions.
It's a sans serif typeface, which means that it's less efficient (character recognition is less easy) than a serif typeface for long texts.
Also I write in Minion Pro. It's beautiful, but so subdued you're never distracter by it.
>>7652625
I won't send anything to some greedy ass publisher. Self-publishing it is.
>>7653078
papyrus
>he uses sans-serif
Please tell me you guys don't actually do this
>>7653078
I like minion pro as well, but it's pretty much in times new roman territory as an easy default to use in InDesign. Nothing wrong with it, but means it gets a stigma.
