I've been looking for a book like this for ages. Has anyone read it? I have always considered the far-left to be mentally il and I am hoping this book can articulate what I have always desperately wanted to know, namely, the underlying reasons why someone becomes a politically correct lunatic

>I have a stated position
>I read to cement my position
>I cannot escape the hugbox and embrace new ideas
You are the /lit/ equivalent of an old man watching fox news cycles on repeat. Not making a commentary on your political positions which I tend to agree with, but rather your general ignorance

Also
>political tract
>by an MD
You realize there are no more politically incoherent individuals than MDs. Their political opinions all stream from tort-reform and instituting regressive taxes.

There's one on republican's too. "The Republican Brain: The Science of Why They Deny Science — and Reality".
The gist of it is that right-leaning people have larger amygdalae, which is a part of the brain associated with fear-based responses and emotional reasoning, whereas left-leaning people have larger anterior cingulate cortexes (cortex being what separates us from lower animals), which is associated with complex rational reasoning.
So science pretty much agrees, right-wingers are scared little bitches whose brains are literally subhuman.
:^)
Nah, tbqh, don't buy into this pseudoscientific bullshit either way.

I bet you're also a liberal. Unless you believe in the divine right of kings or the common ownership of the means of production, you're a just another shade of liberal.
