They never taught me how to write in school. I can only print. It's my own fault too for not learning at some point.

So you've gotta be female right?
idk instead of doodling this happens

You'd make a good fuccboi wouldn't you?

What do you mean I would? I am
In defense, it's not like I believe or like what I write, it's just sentences
>>7629632
It's not what you write that reveals it but the style of your writing; what you wrote only reveals that you are not a female. Do not misunderstand though, I do not mean to insult you; on the contrary, I long for one like you.

I want to improve my handwriting. What are some good places to learn online?
>>7629657
Literally just sit down, design the way you want to write each letter, and then write some Lorem Ipsum shit using those new looks until you don't have to concentrate anymore
How do you guys get good at this? Just practice?
>>7629684
Just practice and the right fountain pen.
Sheaffer makes some cheap ones. The ink flow could be a lot better though!

>>7630179
Yikes, compadre
My n, m, h, and k's just dip below the baseline randomly. People think I'm gay because of it.

>>7631038
I may; it's not until June/July I think and I'm not entirely sure of the cost, although it should probably be quite cheap. It is still quite strange that I was invited.
Also hm, it turns out that all three of my tutors think that I write very "eloquently and "elegantly", and one of them even complimented me on my rhetoric. Feels nice...

So /lit/, I cannot write cursive. Public schools in California never put too much emphasis on the matter and I know that I am also at fault for never learning, but I've tried & I just write God-awful. I'm not a neat writer so my cursive just looks like scrambling. How hard is it to learn to write neatly in cursive?
>>7631723

>>7631750
It's a bit odd, and I don't know why we write it like that, that's just how I've been taught. I like it better than pick related, though.
>>7631227
For my personal satisfaction
>>7629981
Honestly I wouldn't recommend it, at least not all of it; it's really dry and largely covers either material otherwise better addressed by Herodotus, Thucydides, and Xenophon, or goes way too far in depth into events which have pretty much no large-scale effects, such as the various rising and falling tyrannies of Syracuse.
Although if you like primary sources, it's not bad as a reference text for certain periods. It fills in gaps with earlier writers, addressing otherwise unaddressed periods like 479-431 (between Persian wars and the Peloponnesian war) or 362-336 (rise of Philip II of Macedon).
Besides that, it's a fucking chore to get through, and is only available either from Loeb in 12 volumes which will cost $300+, or Sophron (what I got), a discount printing with no shortage of editing errors.
It's taken me 3 weeks to read ~850/1100 pages and it's genuinely the least fun I've ever had reading a primary source.
>>7630179
Get a shitty fountain pen and practice writing with that. It'll force you to loosen your grip and relax the angle at which you hold a pen, since a fountain pen literally won't work if you hold your hand like that.
>>7631846
Yeah, tried working on that today. I will try some cursive or whatever, the letters to look better.
>>7629527
do you pencil your notes first and then go over it with ink? wtf
>>7630179
I also hold my pen like that.
My ability to write by hand is functional, but not pretty.
>>7632182
We used to do that back in elementary school.

Your writing now has got a really regal weight to it - keep going.
>>7632621
I think cursive is dumb to learn. I write in print too, and when you write quickly you lift your pen less and you do get some form of cursive. I remember being a kid and wondering why they just used a weird loop for an 'e,' but when you start writing e's quickly, they just sorta naturally become that. So I mean it makes sense.
Idk. I have an awful signature and that's the only time script would really be handy

This handwriting is beautiful anon, everyone else looking at my screen is perplexed as to how one writes so neatly
Art theory notes I did in uni last year, my writing usually changes depending on what pen I use though.
what pens does /lit/ use? I have a jinhao x450 coming that I'll be sticking an EF nib on and I'm considering the twsbi eco. after that, I'm pretty much through getting new pens. I have to remind myself constantly that they're just tools to stop myself from buying the expensive pens when I already have a bunch that I like plenty.
anyone got recommendations for a good blue/blue-black ink?
>>7634226
Me and B+B got up about four this morning- ordered pizza, made cocktails had more sex, then sang karaoke until the guy next door (I guess) woke up and started banging on the wall.
She only went home a couple of hours ago.
I don't want to seem too eager, but- I AM! I'm pretty sure that she is too though...
Unless I've got it all completely wrong and she's just a slut... I don't think so though.

Your lowercase r's and e's are merely undotted i's..but you don't dot your i's so for all I know you can't spell at all.
Your k's look more like an l and a c combined.
Your n's and m's and a's are terribly compressed
Literally unreadable garbage made fancy with lofty lettering. I can't believe you, or anyone for that matter considers these unreadable hieroglyphs aesthetic.
