> #1: Kafka, Franz: The Trial (1915)
I love Kafka, but... no.
I don't think it's a very good list. His poetry list is even worse "#1 The Wasteland" ahahaha no

This. Disgraceful

Decent list, terrible order. And he seems to be deliberately avoiding the best works of some of the authors on the list. Did he just find a list of classics and order them randomly? Weird list. The guy's clearly an idiot, whomever he is.
>he's read all those books
Please fuck off back to /mu/
so the brothers karamazov is the best russian book but nowhere on the first 52 best books ever?
>>7616561
He only listens to every album once before he reviews it so he probably skimmed them or read summaries on the internet

Too patrician for you? I'm sure Frost and Whitman are more up your alley.

This honestly. Using only one book per author really devalues this whole list because he never has to compare works from the same author. Like, he compares the work of one author against himself, picks his favorite of it, then judges whether he likes that book more than a book he picked by another author in the same way. Whether Gravity's Rainbow is better than Heart of Darkness was never a question he had to face.
This list is bullshit, it might as well just be random books by random authors in a random order.
