The Bib is making its comeback tonight, 00:00 GMT, and to celebrate we're having a sharethread.
Post your requests (please check other sources first though, do some work yourself!) and share whatever else you want. Some of us will be downloading and sharing whole collections (NYRB/Dalkey) so look for those as well.
Old thread is here, with some shared books: >>7582051
>Bib makes its comeback
>site crashes 2 minutes later
>back up 3 days later, 3 minutes to load
>forum post is made saying all is well and demanding that no one speak of the issues
>all your torrents are red for days
>youve lost all your ratio
>contact helpful staff
>they ban you
I've got some hard ones on my search list for some time now.
>The New Cambridge Medieval History
>Christopher Plantin and Engraved Book Illustrations in Sixteenth-Century Europe
>Woodcuts and Engravings by Albert Dürer (or anything Durer related)
I'll copy some request from old thread that might be interesting

Look at you. So smart...
>IT'S ME, Edward Wayne Edwards, the Serial Killer You Never Heard Of
By John A. Cameron
Not a very /lit/ book, but I can't find it anywhere and I really don't want to pay $12 for the Kindle version
And for those that start with the Greeks:
Ancient Greece: A Political, Social, and Cultural History, Third Edition (2012)
And, although it is fairly recent, I'd love this:
Black Holes: A Very Short Introduction
Seriously... How can you think that Cambridge University Press would have a typo on a cover of one of it's books?
I'm not even English and I know that certain medieval names can be, and in serious publications, even must be Anglicised!
So no, that's not a typo.

Would absolutely love the Cambridge edition of Austen's juvenilia, edited by Peter Sabor, if you have it.
Just realised I uploaded a pic of the "Later Manuscripts", like a tard. Pic related is the one.
I'll let you know if this book finishes before the 48 hours are up
Any of these would be much appreciated.

Sorry for being pesky, but I made the same request in another thread: Color Matching: Using Color in Graphic Design by Wang Shaoqiang, ISBN-10: 841596725X, ISBN-13: 978-8415967255
>Please remain in the disabled channel long enough for a staffer to help you. After your account has been reactivated, please /part so staffers know who still needs assistance.
Bibliotik re-enables everyone who gets disabled due to inactivity, I believe, unless you get disabled like three times.
Thank you for looking.
Could you take a look if they have any of these in retail versions (there aren't any retail of these available elsewhere; only "fan" versions of Peace and Endangered), please?
All are by Gene Wolfe:
Castle of Days
Storeys from the Old Hotel
(basically his short-story collections)
>>7615387 maybe this version has all books...
>>7615531 this is the only one
Barnes (ed.) - The Complete Works of Aristotle, Vol.2.pdf
Barnes (ed.) - The Complete Works of Aristotle, Vol.1.pdf
While the Gods Were Sleeping - Erwin Mortier.epub
The Third Tower_ Journeys in Italy (Pushki - Antal Szerb.epub
Castle of Days - Wolfe, Gene.azw3
The Dream of the Red Chamber - Cao Xueqin.epub
Reflections on the Revolution i - Edmund Burke.azw3
Complete Works - Plato, Cooper, John M., Hutchinson, D. S.epub
Thank you for the Wolfe.
The Xueqin is a different translation. The 5-book version published by Penguin is translated by David Hawkes and the last books by John Minford. There was and is currently a request at mobilism open.
It's gauche and obfuscatory to refer to him as such here
Having personally studied several of durers drawings and paintings in the British museum I feel secure in calling you a poopy plebian.
The first two books are:
The Golden Days
The Crab-Flower Club
and then the three mentioned before. The first two are already out in the wild -- mobilism. The last three are still missing.
yo is anyone putting that oxford world classics collection together? would suck the dick for it tbdesu
and some more Hegel for you. Kojeve is great, if you haven't read him before. I also have his Aesthetics 1 and 2, but will upload that some other day, on another Bib/sharethread.
Hegel Introduction to the Reading of Hegel - Kojève.pdf
The Philosophy of History - Hegel, Georg Wilhelm Friedrich,.epub
the collection is there, 199 titles. Won't do it today, maybe in the future. If there's any one title in particular you want now, just holler
I have a different edition of that Phil of History (Oxford I think), as for that Kojève book I admit I haven't got yet (while reading the PoS a few weeks ago I used Hyppolite as a companion). Thanks.
That doesnt have the Moors Account which is pretty good.
Good lord if someone posted the NYRB and oxford world classics collections it would make my year.
Well, I don't wish to blogpost too much so basically...
1) I am no longer in the class
2) We had some drama and I am certain that she now hates me. I talked with another classmate via email and they said "...[she] is furious", "...any chance of reconciliation is gone." etc
So yeah, I fucked it up.
On the off-chance they have something so obviously genre...
To Charles Fort With Love
A is for Alien
Tales of Pain and Wonder
From Weird and Distant Shores
As far as I know, none of these have official ebooks.
Oh and as I'm ridiculing myself already:
S.T. Joshi - A Mountain Walked
The Rise, Fall, and Rise of the Cthulhu Mythos
Reconsolidation: Or, it's the ghosts who will answer you, by Janice Lee
Looking at Pictures, by Robert Walser
Belomor, by Nicolas Rothwell
The Future Lasts Forever, by Louis Althusser
Reading/Writing, by Julien Gracq
Did bib change its url or something?
A month or so ago they put up their closing down message but someone made this thread a while ago.
I got in from what invite forums and I'm really missing bib. Been buying books/reading back log since.
All my old torrents say cannot reach tracker last I checked.
Maybe I got it confused with another tracker.
I remember an open note to the userbase saying it was legally risky to continue and they were closing shop
Now that I think about it that was probably ggn or some other game tracker.
if u dudes like big ass books of obscure shit that's rad then check out needham's history of science and technology in china, one of my university libraries had a hard copy, super patrish asian studies trip on the asia studies tip u feel me, actually since needham died some editors have kept releasing volumes of new material so let's see, anyone got:
Volume 6 part 4 Biology and Biological Technologies: Traditional Botany: an ethnobotanical approach Georges Métailie 2015
Part 11 Ferrous Metallurgy Donald B. Wagner 2008
Invisible Ink, by Brian McDonald. Anyone have it in ebook format?
Worst thing is that we used to get along so well.
>sees me on the bus
>smiles, runs over and sits next to me
>people told me whenever they asked her what she thought of me she was like "Awww I love anon, where is he?"
Why am I blogposting you ask? Because I am drunk and looking at her Facebook...
I wish I could but it seems it is too late now. I've tried apologizing to her but then she still continues being cold toward me.
Should I really talk about this here? It feels wrong. I am going to write about it though; the current title is "The Flower and the Farmer"
Why would he do that? Be a man like in sagas! Kidnap the maiden, kill all her family and livestock with your trusted spear, thrown her in your cabin for a weak or two while you go wrestling with bears and dragons, return and enter the cabin, throw down the dragon heart in front of her and pull down your pants and she'll be yours.
The Ontology of the Middle Way by Peter Fenner
bro there are infinite amounts of crappy phd thesii turned books with fancy titles filling the dusty basements of universities world wide, learn to manage your time better, life is short friend
It has a translation of Chandrakirti's Introduction to the Middle Way which is valuable in its own right and I'm interested in any further explication of Madhyamika philosophy. I get your point, its valid enough, but still prejudiced.
Here it is!
That's the torrent file, 202 books in 318 mbs. I'll be seeding on and off so be patient, but I'll def be seeding for the next couple of hours, so let me know if its not working and we can troubleshoot it together.
I keep getting this The webpage at http://libgen.io/foreignfiction/get.php?md5=cbb245982d1dec023fd88300537e3e71 might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
like I can browse all the books, but I just cant download anything
Just a suggestion... Maybe all of you leechers but the first one can stop leeching until the first one is done downloading, so we dont end up splitting my bandwidth among so many. Then he can seed at a much faster speed than I can. Dont know if that makes any sense or not...
1) Literally nobody can send their invites at the moment
2) Bibliotik will permanently ban your ass when they find you out and your inviter will potentially get banned as well as well as losing your account on PTP and WCD because all the cabal trackers share information. As some people on /mu/ and /g/ realised when they got banned.
Wait for official recruitment on what. It's PU.
Do you guys think Bibliotik will reopen the invites for ex-STP users someday? I can't believe I fucking lost the first chance.
No, I'm not fucking mad. I know how these guys are, he'll probably prevent me from joining just for that.
He said the offer was suspended for now, so that's that. But I wonder if they will reopen it someday.
Here's the link: https://www.reddit.com/r/trackers/comments/3lfkfk/attention_stp_refugees/
I agree, NEVER accept invites from 4chan (or any other public sites), there's good chance you will get banned and will lose access to that tracker forever.
BUT you don't get placed on the global banlist just for that.
If it's closed it is unlikely to get opened back up. You're right, SierraX is a bit of a tsundere. What other PTs are you on? What.cd has consistent bibliotik recruitment at PU level when it isn't going up and down due to DDOS. Also Animebyt.es is rumoured to have recruitment at elite level without overdrive.
I'm Elite at What but my country doesn't have Overdrive so it's a no-go.
I'll just keep visiting that page every day, I guess.
After all these were his words: "This offer has ended, at least for the time being." So I think there's still hope, right?
I'm pretty sure that you can get in via AB without overdrive. Also they don't check whether or not you have OD but you'll have a hard time if you don't have a source of retail ebooks on hand.
A few requests,
Peter the First by Aleksey Tolstoy
White Walls by Tatyana Tolstaya
The Dragon: Fifteen Stories by Yevgeny Zamyatin
Novel with Cocaine by M. Ageyev
Nervous People and Other Satires by Mikhail Zoshchenko
The Galosh by Mikhail Zoshchenko
thank you for your time!
anyone have For God and Kaiser: The Imperial Austrian Army, 1619-1918 in a format other than PDF?
>Any news on those NYRB/Dalkey collections?
I wont be doing that this time around, but I have enough ratio to do it without the freeload, plus Im a PU. So I will get around to it eventually and share it, dont worry.
Has anybody been able to fully download the first collection? Let me know how the seeding is going.
Epub coming right up!
Yeah, the New Directions collection is done, I'll continue seeding it for at least couple of months. Thanks.
Too bad about the NYRB/Dalkey, guess I'll keep an eye out for that later date.
>Gods and Heroes of Ancient Greece_nodrm.epub
>Russian Fairy Tales (Pantheon F - Afanas'Ev, Aleksandr.epub
>For God and Kaiser - Richard Bassett.epub
Does anyone know if the massive torrent from: https://4ch.be/lit/thread/7473062/ is still available anywhere? I stupidly ignored it while it was up, assuming I'd be happy with just physical copies, but this thread is really making me reconsider
https://bibliotik.me/collections/730 all formats
If anyone's got some space on their rig then click "download zip" at the top. I'm full at the moment unfortunately.
Another little present so you dont get bored...
50 books, the entire collection available on Bib, mostly epubs and mobis. Lots of Stefan Zweig, which i great. I particularly enjoyed The World of Yesterday.
And again, expect a slow but steady upload speed of about 30 kn/s.
It may be stupid question, but how does one get into Bibliotik?
Also, can anyone look whether The Medieval Tournament by R. Coltman Clephan is up there?
Almost complete version is on google books here;
One gets in by invitation. It's one of the most prestigious trackers, so you probably need to be a power user on another private tracker like what.cd or passthepopcorn already, and even then they aren't easy to come by. I've got two but after having burned myself by handing them out to people who seemed promising before I'm keeping them to myself unless I have a really good reason not to.
We don't have The Medieval Tournament, unfortunately.
I find it's usually less time-consuming to make it go through OCR software. Yes, even when the PDF already has embedded OCR.
I wish there was some hybrid software with the option of using both pre-available text data and automated recognition to re-flow the text...
OP here. Im still seeding everything (New Directions, Pushkin Press an Dalkey Archives), but remember that my connection sucks atm. Im also downloading the Oxford World's Classics, but some files are huge, gonna be a while.
If the thread dies before I share that OWC torrent, dont sweat it, I'll create the same thread in a few days (maybe when Im back home with a better wifi) and share it with y'all.
I haven't even started downloading them, I just assumed it would take that long since ebook filesizes are pretty small. I can handle NYRB instead if you're not doing it - pls respond
I've read some translations of his stories from the John E Woods trans and have his books of novellas on my backlog, also interested in learning more German
but if you don't want to it's O-K :)))
Here's all of NYRB except for these files (unseeded):
Chrysalids, The - John Wyndham.mobi
Der Nister - The Family Mashber.epub
Gillian Rose - Love's Work.epub
Reveille in Washington - Margaret Leech.azw3
Thomas Tryon - The Other.mobi
NYRB Bibliotik siterip, 24-01-2016
Actually Kindle Previewer is better for .epub in my experience. Caliber can be shit when it comes to embedded fonts.
I used to embed fonts into .mobi format since my kindle had only default three fonts. I'd edit the file in epub, insert fonts manually, change .css and then just run it through Kindle Previewer.
No problems whatsoever. It's also always kept all the default formatting settings, something Calibre often had problems with.
Does anyone know why magnet links aren't working for me? I copied
in its entirety and posted into my client (Tixati), but it's been "fetching meta-info" for half an hour. Everything else in this thread including the large archives work, just not the magnet files (that one and the Kafka diaries from the previous thread)
awesome, dude. Would you mind turning the Twisted Spoon folder into a torrent as well?
Aaaaaand... here it is!
>Oxford World's Classics.torrent
170+ books, 90+ of them epubs or mobis (God, how I hate pdf's). 500 mbs of shit to upload on my shitty connection, so bear with me. Dont freak out if you dont complete your dl today, I'm here for the long haul.
and with that this is the greatest 4chan thread of all time for me. Thank you lads for all being real humans and real human beans.
Thank you so much.
This month I've had to quit college, the girl I like hates me, I'm broke, I might have to put my dog to sleep soon, and my best friend might have cancer.
But goddamn this collection has made things much better
OP here. Small favor to ask of you. If you notice any titles missing from these collections THAT YOU KNOW HAVE BEEN DIGITIZED, please make a note of them and let me know in some future thread, so that I can request them on Bib and complete our collections. Thanks!
Well, Oxford World's Classics alone has 517 titles that show available as "Digital" in their catalog, so if that's all Bib really has you have a lot of requesting to do.
Are you sure that 170 is all that Bib has?
Bib actually has 270, but not all of them have been added to the collection, so when I did "download collection" I didnt get those. I'd have to go looking one by one to see which ones I didnt get and add them manually. Not today, my friend, but maybe one day...
Thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks.
Far chance, but are maybe Time Life Wild West books up there?
And I was like
Baby, baby, baby ooh
Baby, baby, baby noo
Baby, baby, baby ohh
I thought you'd always be mine (mine)
Baby, baby, baby ohh
Baby, baby, baby noo
Baby, baby, baby ohh
I thought you'd always be mine (mine)
I'm looking for "The Fat Duck Cookbook" by Heston Blumenthal.
It's apparently some book for cooking pros. The Fat Duck is a fancy restaurant with up to 2 months waiting time for table reservations lel
What has a surprisingly decent ebook collection for a music tracker. They have a shitload of penguins classics.
Only tracker I'm on unfortunately, and with Australian internet it's very hard to build up ratio quickly. Hopefully one day I'll be a PU and be able to swing a Bilbiotek invite.
Actually I just got it. Went surprisingly fast, but my upload speed is a good hundred times slower, so you'd probably better handle it?
Before /ck/anon gets overexcited, it's a photographed copy and goes between well readable and barely readable. Better than nothing of course
Quality is definitely not great, here's a sample one one of the weaker pages, some are better.
>Before /ck/anon gets overexcited, it's a photographed copy and goes between well readable and barely readable. Better than nothing of course
Is the book any good? I could still buy that overpriced piece if that means less effort for you.
worry no more, just fill few requests and you PU. For me it took to fill 4 or 5 ebook requests to get 30 gb. Search for older with bigger bounties or try to catch new ones. I'm filling them just from google or mobilism. Pretty sure you can find few books in this thread on requests.
We're well past the bump limit, honestly best thread on /lit/ in a while
Anyone planning to make a followup thread, if only for people who missed out on this one?
im pretty bad with computers, how do i open the torrent links you guys put up? also, is there a way to make the ebooks you download not be named as " u.pomf."? also, i get 404 when i try to dl them. thanks
>how do i open the torrent links you guys put up?
You need a torrent client software
>is there a way to make the ebooks you download not be named as " u.pomf."?
I don't understand. You can rename files, you know?
>also, i get 404 when i try to dl them. thanks
Add https before instead of http
you have to put http:// before them (or at least most people here did: I'm using chrome, and just right click "open in new tab" and it immediately starts downloading). Do you have a torrent client? Once the download is finished, pick "open with" and then find your client and use that. The ebooks won't be named u.pomf after you finish downloading them
