The Bib is making its comeback tonight, 00:00 GMT, and to celebrate we're having a sharethread.

Post your requests (please check other sources first though, do some work yourself!) and share whatever else you want. Some of us will be downloading and sharing whole collections (NYRB/Dalkey) so look for those as well.

Old thread is here, with some shared books: >>7582051
>>
>>7613526
I doubt you guys have the entire NYRB/Dalkey catalog
>>
>>7613528
We have whatever's been digitized. Why, do you have it all?
>>
>>7613526
https://u.pomf.is/ncylao.torrent

Sharing my 4.5 gigs of mostly bibliotik with some collections.
>>
>>7613526
>Bib makes its comeback
>site crashes 2 minutes later
>back up 3 days later, 3 minutes to load
>forum post is made saying all is well and demanding that no one speak of the issues
>all your torrents are red for days
>youve lost all your ratio
>contact helpful staff
>they ban you

Did bib change its url or something?
A month or so ago they put up their closing down message but someone made this thread a while ago.

I got in from what invite forums and I'm really missing bib. Been buying books/reading back log since.

All my old torrents say cannot reach tracker last I checked.
>>

Invite sent
>>
>>7617810
1) Literally nobody can send their invites at the moment
2) Bibliotik will permanently ban your ass when they find you out and your inviter will potentially get banned as well as well as losing your account on PTP and WCD because all the cabal trackers share information. As some people on /mu/ and /g/ realised when they got banned.

Wait for official recruitment on what. It's PU.
>>
>>7617839
Very well.

>>7617839
They're not going to put you on the global banlist as the invitee. MAYBE if you get caught ban evading.
>>
>>7617851
>>7617841
But if the personal you invited or the person you invited invited or the person who invited the inviter sells or ratio cheats your account is toast.

Just remember that if you choose to try and invite someone on 4chan use an email that can't easily be traced back to you.

>>
>>7617860
I agree, NEVER accept invites from 4chan (or any other public sites), there's good chance you will get banned and will lose access to that tracker forever.

>>
>>7617888
If it's closed it is unlikely to get opened back up. You're right, SierraX is a bit of a tsundere. What other PTs are you on? What.cd has consistent bibliotik recruitment at PU level when it isn't going up and down due to DDOS. Also Animebyt.es is rumoured to have recruitment at elite level without overdrive.
>>
>>7617896
I'm Elite at What but my country doesn't have Overdrive so it's a no-go.

I'm pretty sure that you can get in via AB without overdrive. Also they don't check whether or not you have OD but you'll have a hard time if you don't have a source of retail ebooks on hand.

Almost complete version is on google books here;
https://books.google.si/books?id=1fPDAgAAQBAJ&

One gets in by invitation. It's one of the most prestigious trackers, so you probably need to be a power user on another private tracker like what.cd or passthepopcorn already, and even then they aren't easy to come by. I've got two but after having burned myself by handing them out to people who seemed promising before I'm keeping them to myself unless I have a really good reason not to.

We don't have The Medieval Tournament, unfortunately.

>>7619350
The only way to properly work a pdf is to convert it to word and make it a decent file. Then reconvert it to whatever you want. This requires patience and a lot of time.
>>
>>7619373
I find it's usually less time-consuming to make it go through OCR software. Yes, even when the PDF already has embedded OCR.
I wish there was some hybrid software with the option of using both pre-available text data and automated recognition to re-flow the text...

Actually Kindle Previewer is better for .epub in my experience. Caliber can be shit when it comes to embedded fonts.

I used to embed fonts into .mobi format since my kindle had only default three fonts. I'd edit the file in epub, insert fonts manually, change .css and then just run it through Kindle Previewer.

No problems whatsoever. It's also always kept all the default formatting settings, something Calibre often had problems with.

I'm anticipating the OWC collection more than I have Christmas these past few years...

>>7619639
unfortunately there are titles missing from that collection (meaning they were never added to bibliotik to begin with).

in its entirety and posted into my client (Tixati), but it's been "fetching meta-info" for half an hour. Everything else in this thread including the large archives work, just not the magnet files (that one and the Kafka diaries from the previous thread)

OP here. Small favor to ask of you. If you notice any titles missing from these collections THAT YOU KNOW HAVE BEEN DIGITIZED, please make a note of them and let me know in some future thread, so that I can request them on Bib and complete our collections. Thanks!
>>
>>7620059
Well, Oxford World's Classics alone has 517 titles that show available as "Digital" in their catalog, so if that's all Bib really has you have a lot of requesting to do.

Are you sure that 170 is all that Bib has?
>>
>>7619812
the one i have been looking for is william sloane the rim of morning. i'm not certain which others.
>>
>>7620120
I'm not OP but I have that:
u.pomf.is/vfkjql.epub
>>
>>7620089
also did a quick check on NYRB and their "available as an e-book" tag, they have 301 works under that.
>>
>>7620089
Bib actually has 270, but not all of them have been added to the collection, so when I did "download collection" I didnt get those. I'd have to go looking one by one to see which ones I didnt get and add them manually. Not today, my friend, but maybe one day...
>>
>>7620159
I'll try and compare your pack + other sources to the World's Classics digital catalog and see what's missing. I'll then post a list at some point.

What has a surprisingly decent ebook collection for a music tracker. They have a shitload of penguins classics.

Only tracker I'm on unfortunately, and with Australian internet it's very hard to build up ratio quickly. Hopefully one day I'll be a PU and be able to swing a Bilbiotek invite.

Is the book any good? I could still buy that overpriced piece if that means less effort for you.

You might want to get the physical copy for your own reading comfort... Besides that I was only asking whether another anon had already gotten it, which apparently is the case >>7621376 ? If not I'll upload it, it'll just take much much longer

worry no more, just fill few requests and you PU. For me it took to fill 4 or 5 ebook requests to get 30 gb. Search for older with bigger bounties or try to catch new ones. I'm filling them just from google or mobilism. Pretty sure you can find few books in this thread on requests.

>>
>>7621450
>how do i open the torrent links you guys put up?
You need a torrent client software
>is there a way to make the ebooks you download not be named as " u.pomf."?
I don't understand. You can rename files, you know?
>also, i get 404 when i try to dl them. thanks
Add https before instead of http
>>
>>7621450
you have to put http:// before them (or at least most people here did: I'm using chrome, and just right click "open in new tab" and it immediately starts downloading). Do you have a torrent client? Once the download is finished, pick "open with" and then find your client and use that. The ebooks won't be named u.pomf after you finish downloading them
>>
>>7621461
I meant https://, like >>7621455 said. I would recommend browsing /g/, the technology board. Go to their sticky wiki and look for the "Questions that don't deserve their own thread" or Private Tracker General threads to find more information on torrents
