Can anyone recommend to me Swedish literature? I have been studying the language for months now and I think it's time to make something of it.
Thank you.

>""""literature"""" in any European language aside from English, German, Russian, and the Romances
Yeah, no. This hasn't existed for over 800 years.

all i know is strinberg and detective novels

Read the Millenium trilogy, really good books. I've only read the second one (kek) but I really enjoyed it. Inb4 it's not highbrow enough for /lit/

And also, Swedish crime/police novels and shows are the best in the world (along with Denmark and Norway I'm sure). Especially if you are North American, the ones here are a farce in comparison.
Hjalmar Söderberg
Pär Lagerkvist
August Strindberg
Frans G. Bengtsson
Gunnar Ekelöf (poetry)
Selma Lagerlöf
Harry Martinsson
Personal favourite is Söderberg and Lagerkvist.

Hello Ahmed.

Hi :)
>>7612627
Absolutely. I read him in Dutch though, but the dutch translator is said to have done a wonderful job though

Also, Söderberg has some GOAT short stories that might be good for learners not wanting to invest themselves into full length novels.

Start with this edgelord. He rapes a 9 year old girl at Gröna Lund, and is offered to sleep next to the youngest fertile girl in a Georgian village during his travels there.

I like Erik Lindegren

>Äldreomsorgen i övre kågedalen
This book reads like it was made for chaners. There's an English translation called Assisted Living and the author is called Nikanor Teratologen.

He also wrote a translation of Thus Spoke Zarathustra.

Good book desu
have a nice quote
Han va vrång på judebolsjevismen men grät otröstlit när Stalin dog 53. - ”Han gav dom jävlarna
va dom tålde”, snyfta han.
He was mad at judeobolshevism
but cried uncontrollably when Stalin died 53. - "He gave those bastards what they deserved" he cried
I really have a hard time thinking translation will do this book justice

Reading this right now. I enjoyed the story where he gets a heart transplant from a raped and murdered girl, and gradually feels himself becoming her.
