>be me
>begin reading book at some coffee shop
>nothing to use as a bookmark, so I use a dollar bill while I get up to order something
>when I get back my dollar is gone and I lost my place

>stealing dollar bills
Fucking poories, amirite?
>>7611462
>mfw I unironically do this
>>7611462
You've just fucking triggered me.
I see this in library books sometimes. I took out Women and Men from the library at some point and there was a single page vertically folded into the spine.
>>7611462
i do this on every book i have ever read
>>7611506
It's a mo th er fuck er, don't you know
Nuclear war
ya ya
I hate to be 'that guy' but I do this with library books
>>7611520
do whatever you want to your own books, but why to public books? why not a bookmark or even a scrap of paper?
>>7611462
I only do this with my own books, not library books or books lent to me.
today i tries to erase some bullshit somebody had written on a page of a library book, i tore the page from the middle accidentally. it is readable though, at least they won't see any bullshit like i did.
a good book should show wear unless you're looking to sell or if it's a rare edition.

why not a napkin senpai
>>7612974
In addition, one could just write what page they were on somewhere

I hate this shit. Its bullshit. I actively try and keep my books in perfect condition because I feel bad creasing them too hard somewhere or ruining them. Beating up a book doesn't just immediately mean you enjoyed it more or got more out of it, and it doesn't mean I didn't get anything out of it. A lot of books on my shelf look unread, and most people probably would assume I'm just some poser, but I'm not reading to prove to other people that I read.

Well then I hate your sad, antiseptic little habits. I also make notes in the margins and highlight frequently. You say you don't care if people recognize you read or not but you still wanted to make a statement about it so this is false modesty on your part.
>>7613377
I don't mind a worn spine but folding up the pages is heretical. The book doesn't shut properly when you fuck up the pages.

eres pobre senior

WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST DOOOOOOOOOO
>folding pages
I dog-ear pages all the time. Who gives a damn, stop fetishizing ink on wood pulp. This entire thread is autism.
