I actually liked the double.
Also, pic related, it was good, but doesn't get to the level of East of Eden or Winter of our Discontent.
it saddens me that he wasted so much effort on this instead of writing Doors of Stone.
That being said, it has its highs and lows. It felt rushed to completion, and I've read it may have been a contractual thing. It starts stronger than it ends, though.
Are you serious? Amerika is tied with The Trial as my favorite of Franz Kafka's works, all short stories and all. What did you not like about it?
Based on subject this just bored me but the Pendlebury accounts were amusing, what I found annoying was his over use of french expressions which I couldn't translate at the time of reading.
