Well first of all he is backing all his stuff to other people's cool stuff. He has no metapsychical claim whatsoever. His writings are really poor in terms of literature.
He is basicly a self improvement book author.

He's more a psychologist than a systemitiser in the old philosopher/science sense which he wasn't very good at, granted, although he was clearly desperate to be. He's one of the great clear and potent literature writers though.

Why do you think this? Schopenhauer got rid of a good deal of the intricacy of Kant's system - especially the latter's model of the understanding and of ethics - but Schopenhauer still articulated a system that strikes me as quite comprehensive and nuanced, and not just regarding what he repeated from Kant.
I'm thinking especially of the more innovative systematic roles played by: his views on the principle of sufficient reason; his adapting and combining the concepts of "natural forces," "spatiotemporal individuation," and "Platonic Ideas" for both theoretical and aesthetic purposes; and his correlation of the mental and the ideal with the physical and the real, from which he draws interesting conclusions about human embodiment and the causes of dreams.
