It's out in about 3 months. Can't remember the name. It's almost 300 pages long, which probably nearly killed him.

Good author, though. Stuff like White Noise and Underworld are good books, and unusual. Running Dog is alright. Does /lit/ like him?

Mao II is real fine, White Noise too.
He's better as a long parable writer than as a storyteller imo.
>>
Mao II, White Noise, The Names and Ratner's Star are excellent.

Underworld and Libra are great in parts but overall I consider them failures.

Delillo doesn't need to market on here newfriend
>>
DeLillo seems to be a really polarizing writer. Some people consider Mao II and Libra masterpieces. Personally my favorites are White Noise, The Body Artist, and Cosmopolis. I think DeLillo is really strong in third person.

Libra and Underworld are his best, with Libra being his most perfect.
>>
i liked great jones street a lot

A LOT
>>
I thought White Noise was just okay, is Underworld goat compared to it?

Legit pretty excited for this, though.

Mao II is my favorite DeLillo so far, but I have yet to tackle Underworld, which one of my professors said was in every persons top five books in the department.

I might be so intimidated that I never actually read it
>>
>loved White Noise
>hated Cosmopolis
>hated The Names

Any advice about continuing to read Delillo?

You're right about Cosmopolis, and I suspect you just read The Names too early (I did the same and it much better on reread). Try Mao II or Americana maybe.

Zero K. It has elements of near future Science fiction (cryogenic sleep) I will pick it up but like you said, he's pretty decripit and it'll proably be his last. I wish he did poetry, Omega and Esmeralda are very pretty prose-wise.

> Esmeralda

You know that short story is the ending to Underworld, right? Like Pafko at the Wall is the beginning to Underworld.
