Oh shit it just arrived.
So, incoming masterpiece or /lit/ meme of the year?
I hope you elitist jerks can at least write well.
Read the first page online then flicked to the 100 and something page.
It's FULL OF QUOTATIONS!!!
I literally just Googled it. And I'm not helping you.
I'm growing more interested. Might blow some Xmas money on this. Was Totalitarianism in A Tundra any good? Or am I in for some meme shit?
Yeah I'm done with that bullshit
I'll read it first and give a feedback later
from what it seems it's just a whole book about Donald Trump, Bill Murray and Leonard Cohen eatin foreskin.
I wanna buy this shit, when is the properly edited version going up?
And what's wrong with the current edition?
Current version is a farce... just wait for the next edition it's going to be
every time, people are desperate to get shit seen so they jump the gun before at least one person gets a chance to read it complete and make sure it's acceptable. so many potential jokes are lost because they never tried making it work together.
>light analysis and criticism of this book
You're falling into their trap
Be serious. The new version is going to suck as bad as this one.
You won't regret getting this edition. It is everything 4chan wants in a book: Jewish, weird, whacky, racist, probably self-referential, but what 4chan really wants is for something to be
>and Bottleman has a revised version ready to sell
Not exactly, he says there are missing fonts and typographic errors. Tripfag says he downloaded some new software and is working on it.
All I know is Bottleman is moving on and making a blog.
>I unironically want this.
Me too. Beyond the TLOTIAT-lever shitposting there is some genuinely good stuff in there. I only read a little while it was being written but some of the self contained passages are actually pretty good.
It is I, not tripfag nor bottleman, but Big Papa: the diabolical bastard who ordered the entire TLOTIAT series in the Christmas thread. I have a third version ready to go, and I posted as such in the previous thread, but I need someone to update the cover for me. When I home I will upload the image and needed dimensions, as I don't have the equipment necessary to edit it properly on my own. The file for the book is a psd taken directly from the original doc as it was being worked on, so there are no omissions of font or typographical errors. I don't know how tripfag fucked up so bad.
Oh shit! Mine hasn't arrived yet!
I'll read through the thread and possibly update lulu with the third edition (or a revised first edition).
Could you post a picture of the back cover and spine? I'll make the next editions cover more saturated for sure.
I did not die amigos.
The latest reading is here.
Sorry it took so long but I've been busy over the holidays.
This is the third edition, PLEASE GO THROUGH THE PDF AND POINT OUT ERRORS (on what page they are etc.), some people said they liked the first edition better but I'm not sure. This one actually have all of the images and shit.
Lulu actually clearly states that they are not the publisher. So actually... I did?
It has sold around 30 copies and I've made like 9 bucks. But I also purchased two for myself, so I'm still in the hole on this bad boy.
Ayy I actually just got to that part in my readthrough. I'm just got namefag in these threads from now on, not tripping though.
Is it worth it to get a printed copy? I've still just been reading out of the pdf but I kind of want my own personal copy. Not sure if I should pull the trigger on it though.
I'll wait for that to get finished and then if I've got some extra dough I'll do it.
Do they ever "run out of time" on lulu?
Like will they stop selling and sending copies after a certain amount of time?
Because I'm trying to figure out if I should buy
shrooms/acidthis week or get the book instead. I'll probably do the former
Also just to re-iterate because I didn't really let anybody know the last post was me, here is the most recent crap from me.
I like the whole book mate, even the parts that are absolute shit, ha.
Some parts are truly awful, some parts are fucking great, most of it is just shitposts.
But its all entertaining, and honestly, the fact that /lit/ could write something that wasn't boring is good enough for me.
I almost contributed to it myself (Aside from reading it) but I decided against it.
Maybe next time.
Not yet. Around what page is it?
I've mostly been reading slightly ahead of my readings. No more then about a dozen pages ahead. I try to keep a balance between not messing up the reading (by already having read it once or twice) and also have it still be relatively fresh.
It's not worse than the second. The second has no fonts. Poster confirmed for non-fan and pleb.
I moved a heading up a page and the whole first part looks like the first edition now.
I am a fan, that's why it pains me to see this project tarnished so. But I have faith in you, tripfag, you can do it.
Where's the Arabic writing? Why is the spacing so off from the first and second? These are the first things I've noticed comparing the three.
I've also noted layout problem throughout the book. Some words and even entire sentences would not be displayed properly and be cropped out.
Footnotes are changed, this is still the third edition since nothing else has changed. But if someone ordered the third edition with big footnotes: you have the Trystero version.
This is the third edition, Tennis academy version:
I'm fixing it.
Pic related is my Hypersphere folder
tripfag, it's Big Papa, can you hear me? Can you hear me calling to you from beyond the grave? We all appreciate what you're doing for this family, we appreciate that you want to carry on the legacy, despite how detrimental it's become to your health, but you've gotta keep going son! We're not in the clear yet, my bb sausage boy
But wait, there's more
tripfag, tripfag, can you hear me? It's Big Papa, son. We've been waiting for so long. Times were getting desperate. I nearly tried to publish the book myself, in an autistic fit of rage. But you've made us proud, son. You've made us so very proud. It's been a long hard battle, but this masterpiece has finally received the treatment it deserved. Thank you, tripfag. Now, Big Papa will fade into oblivion once again, until the next time /lit/ decides to write a book together. Goodbye, son.
"I think it looks fine" he said knowing it didn't actually subtract anything from the reading experience. "Actually, it looks pretty cool!", sweat running down his forehead. He knew the poster wanted another version but this was hour 40 of editing, not including the writing or reading the book, he was tired and actually felt a little bit over the whole thing. He had helped write a book in 2015, and edit and publish it. He was a publisher now, a pretty shitty and lazy publisher, but still.
He had read some of the comments telling him they were so happy that someone actually published the damned thing, he decided, for once, to listen to those poster instead of the nitpickers who didn't like the cool apostrophes.
It was 4AM, he still smelled of the cigarette he had smoked after he posted the fourth edition. Work tomorrow wouldn't be all that fun, but at least he was a published author now. He decided to call it a night and probably to not release a fifth edition.
Apparently this is the fourth edition http://www.lulu.com/shop/anonymous/hypersphere/paperback/product-22511983.html
There's talk about a fifth, and another published independently by Big Papa Anon.
Read this entire thread if you want the full story. tripfag kept fucking up every new edition so Big Papa got anxious and was about to release his own version, but tripfag finally delivered with the fourth and stated that there would NOT be a fifth. The one that's up right now is the final product, ready for your consumption.
Amazon edition will be more expensive because they want to get a cut.
IF YOU PLAN ON PURCHASING THE BOOK, READ HERE:
Use the promo code LULURC and you get 25% off the book AND free shipping.
This is the final gift from Big Papa
Oh shit, thanks anon!
That just saved me $7.80 off the price for the book, and probably a bunch for the shipping to Australia!
I think I'm going to go ahead and make the purchase right now.
Just to be 100% sure, it's this version, right?
>go to /lit/
>convince everyone how literary and new-edge and cool an online free-flow-association collaboration would be
>let a bunch of retards puke up a few hundred pages of nonsense
>sell hard-copy versions for a slight markup to the same retards who wrote it so they can feel literary and new-edge and totally tao lin
>wait 3 months and do the same shit again
>Frigg off asshole, just because someone is a having a real genuine sentimental moment doesn't mean you have to shit on it just because you're heart has turned to and unfeeling cold chunk of coal!
Where do you think you fucking are
you fucking sentimental faggot I still love you anon though never forget that <3
Can someone explain this book to me? Did someone from /lit/ write it? I haven't been on this board for years.
Please be reminded that the HYPERSPHERE DELUXE, while in color is printed on paper that is pretty lightweight since lulu doesn't support printing 740 pages on expensive paper, and it would cost $100 for even 500 pages.
If you're planning on actually reading it, pick the regular non-DELUXE version.
> DEFINITELY buy this book written by a teenager in NYC
> this thread is about ME now
I like the hypersphere storyline, it's pretty fun to read.
My favorite bit is probably the one with the guy who thinks that he is going to have sex with a girl on the deck of a ship, but instead finds a gay orgy.
I love the Mountain Dew ending
the Arthur Rimbaud/Offer Rimjaub poem
secret log entries
I am in love with an idea
Inspector Friedrich Dawkins
Phoebe Caulfields dairy
TFW no jutsu
shit man it's all good
it's far too difficult to write something serious and still have board-wide participation. impossible, actually. posters enjoy these projects because they're fun and funny, and if they want to write real shit they do it by themselves.
hypershere is actually good though imhomdf
Just as a warning or whatever, make sure you set up the google doc to A5 format right at the beginning, so much of what took time in the editing process was because this was not done and EVERYTHING had to be reformatted.
That's usually not a problem if you're just writing text, but DEAR FUCKING GOD /lit/ likes to play around with cool formatted text and use that it's not just a website.
I don't know if /lit/ will accept it, but I've got 11 pages of a good start of something we worked on a month or two back, but it's in A4.
Is it too late to fix it now?
Here's the link if you want to see it.
fine, I'll buy from this sketchy 'lulu' place
i-i hope you don't steal my credit card ...
it's my mom's
Someone told me what it is earlier in the thread, I think the editor received the code from the website or something and shared it with us.
Either that, or it's some promotion happening on the website for the time being.
Where did this explosion of new interest and cluelessness come from? Hypersphere has been all over /lit/ for months now
Hello. One question to the tripeditor. Much appreciated for the final edition, much thanks to Big Papa as well. I would just ask if you could, possibly, send profits from purchases to a fundraiser or charity of some sort, voted by the people of /lit/.
Shit I was wrong, I can get paid via paypal! But no: I'll buy bourbon with the money. Thanks for the $29 bucks m8s!
62 people bought this book. 62 people paid money, to have a copy of random memes that they could easily read for free online.
How many people bought the last book? Something to do with Tundra or someshit. Did that even get published?
Ever since /his/ things have picked up around here.
Obviously before that as well, but the most recent wave is because of a new found spotlight we had for a moment. Mostly from /pol/ and /int/.
Hence the shitposting
Here is the latest video.
Recorded another chapter for ya'll today.
Making 7 revisions, reading the whole thing four times, making sure the exported .pdf looked as much as possible as the original google doc (despite them having different page sizes).
And for this I get $30 before taxes.
I make more working an hour at my (pretty fucking fun) job than I will ever make from editing and publishing this book.
But I did it because it was sort of fun and because I love you guys.
Also over 2000 views on the scribb, we're becoming famous authors /lit/!
It's finally happening! I FUCKING TOLD YOU MOM!
lol. I can imagine it might be. I often submit pieces to my college magazine and its still weird seeing them in there now and then.
Also thanks man. It seems like there is at least a couple people that get a kick out of them, so as long there is still one person listening I'll keep doing them. My goal is get this book done by the end of this coming summer.
Maybe when I'm done I'll ask what to read next.
Stealing from the autistic children by tricking them into buying the book, and then giving them the profits for the book. Meanwhile: lulu getting fatter and fatter from eating read steaks and foie gras.
I haven't been on /lit/ much in the last 4-5 months, can someone bring me up to speed on the completed books? I know of Tundra 1-3 and everglades, aside from hypersphere is there anything else?
There might be differences in the page numbers in different editions, nothing major, just a page up or down.
You have to sell it with some profit in order for it to be published to amazon. I chose the smallest possible profit ($0.30). And yes, I did write quite a bit of it, mostly in part 1,2 and 5.
>There might be differences in the page numbers in different editions, nothing major, just a page up or down.
Yeah, I know, I just wanted to see a picture of some of my work in the book.
Hello, Bottleman here.
Due to foreseen circumstances of shilling, there will be by tomorrow morning (hopefully) an A5 corrected version of Hypersphere up on Googledocs for the public, downloading will be prohibited to avoid making further profit off it. It stands against my principle to steal off manchildren's compendium of erotica for their two nickels. I don't ask to boycott bourboneditor or Big Papa, all I will do is put Hypersphere to the decent image I would have liked it in (the fourth edition is an abomination to me, I will not ever attempt at buying the mammoth.)
As I said, hopefully by tomorrow it'll be complete.
When you're printing you are converting the file to a format that the printer can read: postscript, this is the basis of pdf. So you don't have to actually print it, it can be exported to a pdf from google docs always.
I got you senpai
>300 posts thread on /lit/ is about a meme book
Woah, that's weird. I can't seem to find that page in the pdf. file.
Unfortunately, that's not the right page it seems.
On the pdf file, it's right under some text that says "IN THE NOT-QUITE DISTANT FUTURE, JAPAN HAS SOUGHT A RETURN TO TRADITIONAL NEOCONSERVATIVE VALUES; THIS IS HER STORY:"
I don't know how big that will look in the book. Yours is the fourth edition, right?
I have just one more reading for you. Page 25-28. There's a delightful poem about shaving one's balls in here.
The stickied post on /r/4chan probably helped in this.
I was a bit mad at first that someone was attempting to do the same thing I have been doing but I can't be mad when you've got a voice that nice. Actually made the poem seem like it was from a masterful artist, rather then well, /lit/.
Can't take credit for the book anyway but you put my reading to shame, lol. Nice. Very nice indeed.
That was my plan originally, I'd asked people to contribute if they wanted to so I could add it to the playlist I have created. But nobody was especially interested or has tried to contact me about it.
Also no disagreements there. I don't think I'm a bad narrator, but I go for the "humorous" angle rather than a professional style read. And the latter of which she seems to be exceptional at.
Although her voice and English accent only propel that forward lol.
No need to get defensive ha.
I didn't find it all that funny but hey to each their own.
Not to discredit it though. It was an excellent reading and if we were auditioning for a position reading an audiobook she would have got the job.
But personally while I found her reading exceptionally good I did not find it especially funny.
Less laugh inducing and more along the lines of making me want to listen to her read multiple books.
Basically easy to get lost in the story with her reading.
We can agree to disagree and still be friends.
Right anon? :^)
>inb4 it makes it to FoxNews and buyers get monitored by FBI
