I have dozens so I'm not going to list them, plus I want to sell in bulk. Some are Folios and other valuable books so I'd prefer to get some cash.
can someone recommend me a book that gives a brief but accurate overview on the history of philosophy in german?
thanks a lot!
Hi /lit/
What do people consider an interesting read besides the plot in fiction? Do they like intricate details and language, relating to the characters, a positive conclusion or all of them at once perhaps?
>>9665465
Symbolic meaning behind the text is important to me.
>>9665469
Care to give an example?

I guess most are compelled to complex language and details since it's rather stimulating.
Slowly glancing to the sky, I view the crepuscule, lowering soft, filtered rays of light upon my conservatory skylight. Charley Mingus is on the box, and my beer is cold and crisp. The practical man is concerned with food for the body. I side with food for the mind.
Nowadays I shift and turn though the corridors. Taking what offers itself to my interest. The other day while leaving Subway a transient asked me for the time. I told him it was time to embrace his own ability.
While driving my car to the liquor store I purchased a pack of beer, and a pack of cider.
The only thing I will not keep from the people who stop and ask for procurance from me while I am on my way, not planning for it, not wanting it, is my wish for them to pursue food for the mind.
A young man of healthy stock and bright clear eyes held the door for me today at the Valvoline shop. I Stopped where I was and looked at his waist. No belt or loops to hold one. I asked him why he would not wear a belt. He responded "Sir, this is my uniform, It is a one piece mechanic outfit, it does not need a belt. ". A man of thought needs a belt. I saw no reason to answer him and later, stopped the staff mid oil change. They got quite upset and I slowly idled through their lowered garage door, eventually pushing it out of its tracks and destroying it.

What are some good books to get started with economics?
>>9665040
Avoid Hayek, Friedman, and Sowell, unless you're reading for historical context and to better understand neoliberal blunders.
Despite his bad titles, I'd recommend Ha-Joon Chang's books. Try one of his more recent ones, Economics: A User's Guide.
what is the best novel with a plot that reinforces the arguments in this book, wehre societies are based on the veil of ignorance and justice follows from its implementation?

How do you force yourself to read certain genres you hate?
For example, I know reading romantic era poetry is good for writing lyrics but some of them are just such a battle to get through and I end up not really knowing whats going on.

but I need to
>want to write for fun like I did at age 17--thousands of words a day
>I haven't read a proper novel in ages. Storytelling is a stranger to me now
>fearful writer whose ideas come like sloths. Even worse, I'm overly concerned with writing style when I should be focusing on content and immersing myself in the world/characters
>inb4 I'm hopeless and should just give up
Remember folks, I want to do this for fun not as a living. It used to be my favorite pasttime but three years of ignoring it (outside of school) made my passion and free-flowing inspiration go sour.
>inb4 JUST DO IT
I know! It's just that I feel as if only taking the brute-force approach isn't enough. Almost as if I've forgotten how to write a story.
Can anyone recommend me any horrifying novels? I want to feel dread and utter terror/despair. Spooky stuff that deals with the supernatural or the unknown.
I'd like it to be well-written and told in the first person.
Reddit here, I suggest House Of Leaves, The beginning of The Stand, and the complete works of Edgar Allen Poe
Why haven't you read "a pickle for the knowing ones" by Lord Timothy Dexter yet, anons?
