>"*unzips laptop* xD, another snorkleborkle day! What are my friends on /lit/ thinking, only they can look at books in an edgy way that doesn't bore me! Oops, my laptop is covered in cocaine and weed xD! Maybe I can get high as I type my next book about internet culture and pepe, that'll help me write :D But first I'll finish reading that medieval Pagan cookbook!111 *picks it up off the stack of other similar books* *camera pans out and twists, and you see his desk and seat is stuck to the wall and he is superglued to the chair, working sideways 6 feet off the ground*"
>what Thomas Pynchon is actually like, with a 99.9999 % accuracy
>"*reads the New York Times from front to back, like he does every day, along with the New Yorker and The Economist* Hmm... I'm glad Macron was elected, his sensible moderation and centre ground reforms will be a bastion of progress in our turbulent times. *has a nap* *Reads the latest Jonathan Franzen and then New York Times best seller books* I think I'll go to my study. *Skims Wikipedia to make notes for his new book, gets lazy, decides to make his current section more abstract and incoherent* *Writes exactly 1000 words* *Goes to sleep again*."

Anon, I think you need to break some china.
Yes, any old china. Break a mug, cup, plate, whatever. Don't even throw it, just hold it out over a hard surface and let it fall.

Romeo and Juliet has some of the best swordfighting scenes. Mercutio is one of the more memorable characters as well.

The Tempest? For what purpose
Considering learning Spanish for practical purposes. Rec me some of the best Spanish books I could read if I levelled up and left my lazy American monolingual ways behind me.

Why the fuck is it that, nearly every remotely sizeable ideological group since the inception of the 20th century has coopted Nietzsche? From early feminists, to anarchists, monarchists, reactionaries, nationalists of every branch, and even modern existential liberals
ngl he on that yeet
Because his thought is so vague that it can be used to support literally anything and backed up by citations that justify anything you want them to, since they're so manifold and contradictory

Because not all philosophers are equal. Nietzche marks a new era in philosophy. Sort of like how there is a line drawn between Plato/Socrates and everything that came before it.
In the 20th and 21st you are not responding to Nietzsche in some you are simply not doing philosophy.
How did a 75-year-old man manage to tap into the atmosphere and concerns of the early 21st century so accurately?

I just want to tell you how much i like this book. This is my third fantasy book and it's great. Before finding it i was struggling to find something to read that would keep me interested for the entire book. I will be honest that i chose it because of the cover. And i have fapped while reading it. But there is not as much fap material in it as you would expect. I don't know how fantasy readers rate this but for me it's very nice escapism.

My fiance and i both enjoy reading, but have neglected it for quiet a while.
Now we want to read something together.
What could you recommend us, /lit/?
We're open to all genres/suggestions.
We've read an excerpt of kafka's metamorphosis and i really enjoyed it.Ii've read the trial and kafka's way of writing fits my preferences. However, my fiance wasn't thrilled. I think the whole "man suddenly becomes bug" idea is too weird for him.
What could be something we both enjoy?
