If a ship without a sail, say a cruise ship, goes from one place to another, can you say it sailed that distance? When it leaves the harbor, can you say it sets sail?
If not, can you give proper alternatives to use in these examples?
Pic unrelated
it cruse shipped that distance
it sets cruise ship

Nvm, found it already: https://forum.wordreference.com/threads/to-sail-without-a-sail.2453293/
Sorry for killing another thread for this one. But if it was all the way down it was probably shit anyway.
Good night anons.
Ay, what's the most fantastical greek or roman literature about badass gods fighting and shit?
>>9704235
>tfw you will never read the Titanomachia
The Odyssey actually mentions the Gods a lot and things that go on between them.
Ares cucked Hephistos by fucking Aphrodite for instance and all the other male Gods had some banter about Ares when Heph trapped him
>>9704292
Ares was by far the shittiest God in the whole of all mythology ever.
>Be Ares
>Fuck the dude who makes your weapons's wife
>who's also a cripple
>get caught in a net by him
>Go fight some noobs in the Iliad
>get punked by some dude with the help of Athena
He just fails at everything.
I just finished this and I can't figure out how you've all convinced yourselves that this isn't a children's book. Is it just blind nostalgia, or have you really not read anything else?
Talking to yourself OP?
Why do you believe that children's books can't be good literature? Is it just ignorance, or have you not thought about it properly?
LotR's setting is so good it spawned an entire genre.
Journey to the West is to China as ________ is to ________.
The Anabasis is to the Greeks.
anime is to japan
The Odyssey is to the Greeks.

The Art of Writing in 20 Lessons by Antoine Albalat is the best book to improve your writing, but it's available only in french as far as I know.

Do you consider Wonder Woman to be a greek myth?
We're all well aware that Diana's origin is neither ancient nor greek, but that alone should not exclude her. The divine comedy came more than a thousand years late in a very different country, but its lasting popularity and compatability mean it is often considered a part of christian mythos, if not religious doctrine.
Likewise, Diana may be a latecomer, but shes the most well known superheroine of all time, and has been iconic for almost a century. Her status as a myth is not up for debate, but whether her pantheon is the justice league or the olympians is what I want to debate
I hate you and your terrible fucking thread.
How well do you read aloud?
Is your voice embarassing and autistic?
Are you flat in tone?
If you had kids could you entertain them by reading or would you be too boring?
How well did you read aloud in school?
I was the guy who read as quickly as possible because I thought it made me seem smart when it probably just made me seem nervous and autistic. Now I read aloud with an embarrassing thespian flair like Artemis from Always Sunny.
It's funny you should post this because for the past few months I've been practicing reading all my books aloud so as to be prepared for raising children.
>but anon, you're a poorly socialized weirdo who rarely goes out; how will you ever have children
That's a good question. I have no idea.
I read to my brother and he loves it. Always wants me to read to him, especially fantasy books.
It depends on my mood. If i'm feeling comfy and/or good, then I have a somewhat pleasnt voice. If I'm having a bad mood, on the other hand, my voice literaly sounds like google translate, not even joking about that, it's weird and embarrassing as fuck.

Is there a good way to into Zizek or is he just a meme?

meme. zizek's movies are nice. he's pretty good at explaining shit. dont bother reading him though.
What e-readers do you fellas use?
I'm in the market for one and didn't notice anything in the sticky about them.
All I need is an SD slot and for it to not be a flimsy piece of shit. I looked at Kindles but they're expensive and have a monopoly so I would only get one second hand if they're really so great.
