I remember seeing a while back that using s's was accepted and even preferred in old-fashioned British English, but for the love of me I can't find much information about the rule anywhere. Does anyone have any ideas about this, or have you heard of this rule before? It differs from the s' rule, which I believe is the Americanized version.

Which novel is more profound, or better describes the perfect totalitarian regime? I've read 1984 multiple times, but I'm not sure if We will impact me as much as Nineteen Eighty-Four did.

Guys, today was a, dare I say it, very demoralising day.

>rainy day in London
>wake up and clean my room
>shit gym session due to coffee ruining sleep for previous 3 months
>check my bank account - more than I thought, so I can go and drink coffee in public, feelsad about life, and browse 4chan on my phone, telling myself real life and hard work starts after the weekend
>go outside and see SO MANY attractive girls
>let me emphasise again, SO MANY
>sluttily dressed ones near shoreditch, getting ready to go Chad hunting
>ones that would seem qt and attainable (at peak delusion) on weekdays but dressed up enough to seem unattainable at all times now
>early 30s women dressed sluttily and with the thousand cock stare, in search of bankerChads only
>realise that I have no hope of any social success when I'm the ugly loser loner beta at office job, haven't had a social life in years, never had female attention ever, never been to a pub or club so I've missed my youth
>can't even bear to have a "fuck it, binge on junk food today, fix life tomorrow" binge because I know I'll be lazy tomorrow

And I've seen everything in central london. There is nothing else left to see. I can't even pretend I'm some happy autist, I am a bottom of the barrel failed normie. Schopenhauer's hedgehog simile was completely correct and explains my behaviour, along with laziness.

In terms of actual productive things to be doing, I feel like I am paddling in the exact middle of an ocean. Normies and Chads and Staceys are on cruise ships, they can enjoy the ride, they don't need to find a nice island. Actual autists can enjoy their paddle boats. Some autists have math powered paddle boats. Some have programming powered ones. Other boats are powered by literary means.

The normies laugh at me whenever I choose a method of propulsion. They goad me and say that I can work on the bottom deck of their ship, shoveling shit, as the women lounge or party 24/7 and the males work slightly harder and party harder.

I am too unspooked to take hope in ideologies or methods or heuristics. I believe in common sense and the ambiguity of the future. But it still tortures me.

i feel the exact same way as u. then i had sex with an attractive girl who loves me. we have a relationship. we have money. i managed to write several vignette things that i personally like. sometimes i reread them and think "nice". i still feel the exact same way as u. wanna know why bitch cuz ur spooked to all hell whether u think so or not. like hello only diff is ur spooks are the an herod r9ks with the spermbanks, aka ur founding fathers. u need parental fucking controls cuz clearly ur a child

Not everybody is meant to fuck 10's. Figure out what personality traits you find truly--not superficially, not culturally imposed--attractive in a partner, and join social groups to find her. Chads aren't all happy, nor are all qt's. Stop focusing so much on appearances and find someone who you want to spend time with.

How would I go about describing insect like people? More insect than not but insect enough to allow them their unique characteristics.

I'm having an especially hard time now as I'm trying to write in a group of cricket children. I imagine, in my head, that they'll have a basic human stature but very insect like in between.

The one kicker I feel like I'm facing is that the MC is also an insect, so it's not like he's go into any sort of disgusted detail of what these children or people surrounding would look like.

If you have any other ideas for insect people that would be great. The MC is a moth, his expositionary companion is a worm, later they meet a beetle. I need a few enemies down the line but I can't think of any insects off the top of my mind. Spiders seem too obvious to make enemies.

Sorry, meant to say more human than not but insect enough to give them their unique characteristics
>>
You must imagine the insectoid is actually just that. In my head I see a fidgety, quick to speak, one track minded being. And that's me imagining a fly or mosquito. If you were imagining a caterpillar, I'd see a gluttonous, selfish, unquenchable being. Make the insect qualities basic human qualities that overlap.

i could post some description of the Spree from the Subgenius novel "Eyelash", but you'd just steal them.

go read some Jack Vance. "planet of adventure" has a couple of insectoid-humanoid races. Jack Vance had a thing for humanoids with insect faces.

How do I become better at reading German? I'm OK with basic texts such as news articles, but when it comes to more difficult texts with complex sentences, my head starts hurting. The syntax, especially verb order, is fucking counterintuitive.

>halfway through A Spell for Chameleon
>go to Goodreads to give it four stars
>check the reviews on a whim
>out of the top ten reviews, six complain about "sexism and perversion" and give the book one star for that reason
>this includes the highest- and second-highest-rated reviews (from December and February, respectively, of 2009)
>click the Rating Details button
>only 1% of all the reviews on the book give it one star
>93% give at least three stars

Can any conclusion be drawn from this?

you can't trust online reviews unless you personally know the reviewer. anything and everything else is probably astroturfing.

best thing to do would be download a pirate copy and read it for yourself. if you like the book, buy a physical copy.

Ok I know this sounds crazy but what would it be like to work in a taco bell under nazi rule?
taco bell= taco riech

>"welcome to taco riech, choose your meal now"
>only two options: taco meal, burrito meal
>"...yes ummm can I have a taco meal"
>"WHAT!? there is NO taco MEAL. THERE is only meal plan one and mean plan two!!"
>fear.jpg
>"ah ah ah can I have a...number 1"
>"NIEN!! at TACO RIECH everyone is number two and fuhrer is number 1!! You cannot be number!!"
>security guard approaches custome, typical nazi uniform with the exception that all medals are shaped like small hot sauce packets
>he has a look in his eyes which reflect how his emotions have been bleached out by years of conditioning at the taco riech training center in rural texas. He has been water boarded with soda fountain diet dr. pepper. He has spent days surviving off nothing but spicy nacho cheese sauce. he's more fiesta now than man.
>customer knows it's all over, starts to cry...
>makes one final attempt at ordering
>"can I please have meal option number 1"
>"cashier smiles and says "YEAAAH mine customer!"
>costumer gets food
>cashier and guard in unison:
>"hiel taco riech, 1000 years of tacos"

On one hand, it's sad how propagandized kids are these days by the jewish anti-religion of WWII notsee worship that makes them think expressing white interests is bad. On the other hand, we're getting so far away from the event itself that it's become unimportant and a complete joke, with some, oddly enough, brainstorming stories about, erm, taco reichs.

Go for it. Skewer this jewish religion by conflating notseeism with taco bell.
