Hey /lit/,
I just read pic related and although it wasn't that good it got me craving a late 1800s/early 1900s horror novel. The Witch did the same thing to me last year, I thought it was amazing.
I do like King's world building, I'm very adhd so books that have too much description lose my interest pretty fast.
I'm looking at you for recommendations
Thankssss

Whats the easiest genre market to break into? Would it be young adult sci-fi or fantasy?
>>9860725
fantasy by a long shot.
how do i improve my attention span, /lit/? i always drop a book after reading 50 or some pages.
yes, i pick books that i am interested in, but the same shit happens
(the only books i've finished was the antichrist and the death of ivan ilyich, maybe because they're short as fuck)

Literally listening to crack-up right now. Fleet foxes are based af, faggot.
You have an internet addiction, pick up a hobby or do something productive with your time other than sitting around pressing F5 all day and thinking "Oh I'll read 'x' book in an hour" repeatedly until you fall asleep.
>>9860675
cool but can you help me
Is it any good?

Of all Hardy's books, it bothered me most. But it's Hardy, so it's good.
>>9860600
600 pages of sunshine and rainbows.
Also Hardy is kind of a shit writer.
Prepare for hundreds of pages of him telling you exactly what his characters are thinking and feeling in excruciating detail.
>>9860600
yes, it's awesome. hardy's best book.
shouldn't read it contiguously with that leonard cohen book though otherwise it could send you over the edge.
if you haven't read hardy before you should probably start with tess or under the greenwood tree tho. not everyone likes hardy's style. of course, that makes them irredeemable plebs like >>9860643
is this any good? i want to get into poetry writing
Just listen to some Kanye brah

Teach your kids with the "The Flowers of Evil" by Baudilaire. The earlier they learn to suffer, the better.
How do I retain more information? I'm mostly talking about literature, but I have the same problem when I'm watching anime sometimes. Any tips on how to improve my memory so that I don't constantly have to reread/skim through previously read texts?
Pic 100% related
>>9860524
stop watching anime.
>>9860524
Stick to video games and anime, champ.
>>9860529
I've exhausted most of the good stuff already and don't really watch that much anymore, but I just discovered Gundam and it's fun.
What is phenomenal experience? Anyone know any good books/papers to get me started?

Enquiry in human understanding by Hume
Descartes' Meditations
Locke's Essay Concerning Human Understanding
Husserl's Logical Investigations
Stein's Finite and Eternal Beings
>>9860535
Hume is shit
>>9860556
Hume is good for understanding the idea that we can't claim to know any real cause-effect chains, but only probability. For example, the sun has risen every day I've been alive but tomorrow it might not and that wouldn't imply any contradiction.
It's funny how the pseuds you do nothing but venerate the sterile, constipated, boring as fuck, establishment endorsed cultural idols end up doing nothing of worth while those who follow their intuitions and tastes end up doing spectacular things... which are turned in to idols by future generations of pseuds.

Now I'm wondering, if there are, you know, digital backups floating around somewhere.
Anybody got a link, torrent?

What are some literature to help get over a lost love?
>>9860151
Its called waiting and then getting another woman

The Great Gatsby
People can call it a meme novel all they want, but Gatsby deals with the futility of getting caught up in lost desires. Importantly, its not about someone who is rejected. Instead its about obsession, the fleetingness of things, and the illusory nature of the past.
If you hope to get over her anon, you will have to become skeptical of the nature of your desire.

Is this a Buddhist text or nah?
Bought this a year ago after this was the one people recommended the first to start off with Nietzche (didn't know about /lit/ at that time). So is this the right one to start off with, and what should I keep in mind before reading Nietzche?
