Name five books in your to-read stack.

Anons will then tell you which one to read.

Let's get the ball rollin'.

I'm torn between reading Julius Caesar, Othello, Romeo & Juliet, The Winter's Tale or Twelfth Night.

Romeo & Juliet is essential Shakespeare, do that one first

Othello and Julius Caesar next, they're really just a lot better

> not saving Winter's Tale for winter

I skipped Twelfth Night. I read a few of Shakespeare's comedies and they did nothing for me. The tragedies are his best imo.

From my doorstopper stack:
Les Miserables
Don Quixote
Anna Kerenina
Herodotus' The Histories

trace its development.

meme with aristophenes, see how that develops with the romans, yadda yadda, modern comedy.

there are certain things that are timeless when it comes to comedy. the idea is realizing this and expressing it in a way that is relevant to modern times.

haven't written in two days, but good overall. I got three short stories that are publishable that I need to edit, finishing another. Working on sort of a joke of a book that I want to self publish just to see what happens, then I got an idea for a total sellout market kissass book that I'm pretty positive I can get published if my other 3 books continue going nowhere.

I haven't write any of my books in more than 1 year...

Have been working all year on my first novel. Finishing my final read through today, then will be prepping to send it to publishers over the next week. Feels pretty damn good desu

After great pain, a formal feeling comes –
The Nerves sit ceremonious, like Tombs –
The stiff Heart questions ‘was it He, that bore,’
And ‘Yesterday, or Centuries before’?

The Feet, mechanical, go round –
A Wooden way
Of Ground, or Air, or Ought –
Regardless grown,
A Quartz contentment, like a stone –

This is the Hour of Lead –
Remembered, if outlived,
As Freezing persons, recollect the Snow –
First – Chill – then Stupor – then the letting go –

The only American poet I've liked at all is Robert Frost.

I got mine already preordered. /lit/ is full of pseuds.

She's a decent poet, maybe even better than decent.

What's the best site for learning German? I'm going to Vienna in two weeks and considering I already have native level proficiency in English and middling knowledge of French it should not be too hard to achieve conversational level Deutsch in half a month.

Please no (((duolingo))).

What is your native language?
Nearly everyone there is fluent in English.
Will you stay longer? If not, I would suggest to just use English.

is math interesting to learn non-academically?

i was somewhat of a prodigy, skipping grades and all that with math, but it was sort of all in my head to begin with - so on top of never caring about school, i never learned how to learn math so that when i got into more abstract stuff (even like calc ii), i would just sort cheat my way thru. long story short is that i dont have a great grasp on theoretical math past entry level calc, but probably have the mental horsepower for it; is it worth checking out?

Cultivate the aesthetic.

Let's start: Is it /lit/ to go bald?
12 posts and 9 images submitted.
>>
I dont think those things are related at all..

My guess is that you have started to bald and you want to feel better about it.

You won't get that kind of validation from this board. The truth is that the bald men who are the happiest are those who are not consumed by their baldness.

Moby Dick is better than Ulysses and Melville could completely destroy Joyce in a fight. Prove me wrong.

Not much of an accomplishment, dude could hardly see.
>>
Well you're definitely right about the second part, at least. Joyce was a reedy, pencil-necked fucker, while Melville was a sailor who actively exercised.
