How much fun do you think Pynchon is having playing this role.. I wish I had that opportunity. :/ It would be so fun and would really stroke my ego to have a bunch of people making conspiracy theories about me and having it be so that everyone I meet feels "blessed to be in my very presence" on the basis of being a mysterious recluse... but alas, I do not have the writing ability to get there :/
