How does the philosophy of postmodernism relate to the postmodern literature? Is the latter just a umbrella term for literature that subverts usual tropes and expectations?
Are they even related philosophically (as in the rejection of objectivism and what not) or is the literature just a result of the postmodern movement ?
I struggle to see how the works of Nabokov and Pynchon have to do with Lyotard and Derrida.
There is so much Literature about this and almost all of it is based on the absurd assumption that the fullness of Mind is knowable through the misery of Phenomena.
No stasis of Mind hinges on any parts of personae or any emergent aspects thereof. To think otherwise is to play with ghosts.
Isn't this supposed to be one of the greatest plot twists in all of stage? I saw it coming from a mile away.
Is there any contemporary books on this subject?
Commodify Your Dissent is good but it's 20 years old.
I want to get one for everyday commuting, and I'm planning on moving out of the country so it would be great to take a book collection with me in my pocket. Anybody have experiences with it? Would you recommend? Thanks
Which one of you cunts recommended this book to me? I have to read it in my room with the door closed because it's giving me a constant erection.
While looking for materials to learn Hindi i've stumbled on this japanese site http://el.minoh.osaka-u.ac.jp/flc/index.html and felt complied to share it with all of you.It offers lessons with full audio recording of rarer less studied languages such as hindi, urdu, swahili, mongolian, persian, youruba, marathi and etc.Sadly the site is only available in japanese so if you can make use of the language どうぞ
My friend gives me a lot of his stuff to read over and critique.
Often I find his stuff bland and uninteresting. That's hard to say to a good friend without coming across like a complete asshole, especially because -- by right -- his opinion is worth far more than mine with regard to the creative side of writing. That's to say he's studying screenwriting and filmmaking whilst I'm just studying history.
I try to just point out sentences that I feel are a bit cumbersome or areas I believe he didn't fully achieve what he was aiming for.
How do you guys go about giving feedback?
